Is Jiko the BEST Restaurant in Disney World? Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge

- Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge may have the BEST cuisine in Walt Disney World. Restaurants like Sanaa, Boma and even their quick service restaurant, The Mara, have been well reviewed both Disney fans and food critics alike. However, to us, the best restaurant at this resort is Jiko The Cooking Place.
Boasting the largest African Wine selection in the United States and an architectural design that transports guests to an African savannah sunset, Jiko's signature experience feels truly special and uniquely Disney.
It's been close to two years since our last experience here. This video documents our complete review. We go over their signature dishes, decor, cuisine, service and whether we think this is truly the BEST restaurant in Walt Disney World.

I always trust your food reviews. We just ate at Jiko for the first time and agree that it was phenomenal! That Boar was the best appetizer ever, and the bread has to be my favorite on property! Thanks for sharing!
We're so happy you enjoyed your meal here 🙂. We heard a larger channel put out a somewhat negative review the same time as we did and despite doing so many reviews we always get nervous when we suggest a place. Especially since everyone enjoys different flavors. The boar was out of this world! We actually took some of this bread home with us and had it during the week 😆. This resort really is incredibly picturesque. It was a great night. Can't wait to do it again 🙂. The giraffe bread and mac were delicious. Highly recommend. Wishing you the same!

Ugh why must I work lol...oh ya so I can go to WDW! I can only watch first 3 minutes as I go to work. Something to look forward to this evening :). Jiko is on our list for October (group of 8 hopefully).... did you see larger groups? Window seating? Love the opening of your videos.. you do the best job of showing location.
We've contemplated cutting those openings so knowing you enjoy them means a lot! Happy we made the right decision in keeping the intro portion 🙂. We did see a larger group and it looks they just pulled a few tables together. The window is nice but honestly the whole restaurant has a palpable atmosphere. It's great to dine here as the sun is setting to see the change in the lighting. Hope you have the best time here!

Umm yes that would be an awesome perk! you could call it "Foodie Frank time" lol Ok so... review lol. Maybe because we are going in October but this may be one of my favorite reviews by you both. I love love love the intros (it makes you guys unique and gives place and substance to the videos). You make your viewers feel like they are there. Everything looks amazing. I have so many ?'s but I am yammering so I will stop... Can't wait for Cali grill :)

Great video and review. Enjoyed their food both times we have dined there. Bread service seems to have been cut in half, however they kept the better of the two. That boar looks good, but always nervous about a gamey taste. Happy birthday Jay!
Yeah they definitely used to have a Moroccan flat bread if I remember correctly. Glad the Giraffe bread made the cut though. I (Sam) was nervous to try the boar but it was so tender. Thank you for watching & thanks for the birthday wishes!
I love this restaurant. We went on your recommendation for Lucas 1st birthday. We were just looking at all the photos from that night. Such great food. Definitely up there in the top Disney restaurants.

Our fave Signature restaurant! We had dinner there a couple of weeks ago. Would give it a 9 out of 10. We loved the boar and the filet. So in law loved the sustainable fish. Daughter is picky:) she wasn’t in love with the vegetarian dish
This is a great pick to be anyones favorite restaurant at Disney. To us, it's not just the cuisine but also the experience and Jiko encapsulates everything we look for in a Disney Dining experience. I can understand your daughter having a rough time with the menu here though. Definitely not the ideal place for a picky eater. The Boar was so good! Happy you all had a great meal here 🙂.
Yes, more Frank. Did he even chew that steak? I would think one would have to be an adventurous eater for Jiko and that is not how my wife rolls. I think I would enjoy it though. Thank you for yet another great review and video.

The bobotie macaroni & cheese looks great & your description sold it! I may try to stop by the wine bar to see if i can order only that.

Hi Both, we are currently here in Orlando (from the UK) on vacation and just spent 3 nights in AKL.
We went to Jiko on Sunday and we had Boar (9) and Duck Confit Flatbread (9) for Starters and Filet Mingion (10) and Seafood Tagine (9) for mains . The overall experience we would give a 10.

Been to Jiko for our past two anniversaries. Love it. Some fantastic South African pinot noir there. This year, we’re changing things going to Jaleo for our anniversary, but already thinking about Jiko for my birthday in Feb.
We definitely need to have at least one glass of wine next time we dine here. That pinot sounds perfect! We still haven't dined at Jaleo. Hopefully we'll get there soon. Jiko is a great place to celebrate 🙂.
I really wanted to eat there on our 20th anniversary trip, but we chose other restaurants. Definitely next time!

Have you tried the Tiffins short rib? Curious how they compare as I loved Tiffins (it was very small though) and hope to try Jiko’s when I visit later this month.
I have! I'm pretty sure I gave both of them 10s. To me, Jiko's is better but I'd say it's all preference. I think Jiko's is bigger. Hope you have the best visit!

We agree 🙂. Frank is a star 🌟. Although he's not the biggest fan of the camera. We try our best to get him in when he's behaving. Usually when he's getting a snack 😆.
Farai is awesome! i do not know why my family hasn't dined at jikos yet it is gorgeous the food is gorgeous and delicious which is rare find looks like the chefs put sometime into each plate large and small 🦒🍞giraffe bread yum😀we need to add more days on to our vaca and do all TPF top 10 lists our WDW restaurants! Frank said i love jikos steak!🐶
Oh man, your family has to go to Jiko! It's great 🙂. The food is top notch. Giraffe Bread is delicious and memorable. If you ever do one of our top 10s please let us know 😆. They take us a few days to get through. Frank was living his best life with that steak 🐕
