    What stabilizer do you use on the bottom of the hoop? I like the double sided tape suggestion. Thank you.

    Nice process on the embroidery machine I’m going to try that. And watching your video it looked like it was split into two different cameras it was very hard to see some of the things you were doing.

    What stabilizer is used, and how is it removed? I assume it may be a water solvable stabilizer. Thanks in advance.

    Th'x Julie. I have tried a couple of times to make this bowl but so far it hasn't worked. I can't seem to keep the roping flat from the beginning. It keeps wanting to curl up - am I getting it too tight you think? I can't get to the embroidery step. I open to any suggestions! :)

    • @mustangsally4316
      @mustangsally4316 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If it curls, it’s too tight, try not pulling it so tight.

    Thank-you so much for this wonderful tutorial. Just one thing to add...you said you "scored" cotton thread from your mom, but that thread is "100%Polyester". Does it matter?

    how would I embroider on the SIDE of an already made rope bowl from target?

    • @juliehalldesigns
      @juliehalldesigns  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Gwen, depending on if you want the "nice" looking side on the inside or outside, turn the bowl inside out, and use double sided tape to hold in place on the stabiliser. Just know that the opposite side is not going to look as pretty.

    THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE TUTORIAL...QUESTIONS~~~WHAT SIZE NEEDLE DID YOU USE AND IS THE BOBBIN THREAD EMBROIDERY BOBBIN THREAD OR REGULAR THREAD? I WILL GO TO YOUR FACEBOOK GROUP AND HAVE A LOOK AROUND. PERHAPS I WILL FIND MY ANSWERS THERE. I REALLY ENJOYED THIS!

    • @juliehalldesigns
      @juliehalldesigns  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Brenda - I used my regular 11/75 needle for both the stitching and embroidery. I had regular thread on the bottom on the design during construction of the bowl, but went back to bobbin fill for the embroidery.

    My Janome 500e says maximum thickness is 3 mm and it kept getting hung up when using 4.5 mm cord so guess it won't work for me; very disappointed.

    Hello again! Help! I started embroidering on my rope bowl. In doing so, I continued with the Denim Needle.
    Broke four needles. Then I switched to embroidery and broke four more. I used tear away sticky stabilizer. My rope was 1/4 inch and all cotton. Also after I tore away the stabilizer I could see the outline of my color stitching. Any suggestions for needle breakage and is it normal to see the outline of the embroidery on the outside bottom of bowl?

      @kathrynkrouse8162 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don’t know what her answer would be, but I’m wondering if you have rope instead of macrame cord. These are very different in density. You can make rope bowls, but I doubt you can embroider on rope.
