Well done! Next is to catch and charge Taxi drivers who doesnt abide by the rules and laws of driving in a DAILY disrespectful manner by driving on emergency lanes and rudely cutting lanes as if they own the roads. Marked SAP cars dont even bother to teach reckless TAXI drivers.
😂 both of you go and how check how many taxis gets impounded on the daily.city of Cape town does not have the support from gov when it comes to removing taxis permanently
Yes, we do. We impound nothing less than 500 each month, national legislation was amended to prevent us from now impounding for the conditions we were allowed to do so before. Now we can only issue fines. So we do. Thousands every month. Of course, if these drivers don't care about the traffic regulations, they iften don't care about the fines. They leave these unpaid, they don't appear in court, so warrants get issued for their arrests. So we use our new ANPR technology in our vehicles to find them. Then, straight to their free accommodation in the police cells. It is still bringing little change to driver behavior, but until this changes, we will continue to use all the power we have, and every available law to bring about that change.
It will be perfectly legal as long as your bicycle has an engine displacement of at least 125cc and has passed roadworthy test. Nothing lower than 125cc allowed on a National Highway.
New cars dashboards are illuminated permanently. People who drive these cars are dense and unaware that they need to switch on headlights at night ; they see a illuminated dashboard
Well we've known since moving here that something as simple as keeping litter under control is an enormous thing here. You'll never see that in Johannesburg because it's not enforced at school. I remember in high school, anyone who came late to school was kept for an hour after school to pick up litter. It is taught at a young age. I never experienced something like that at any of the 3 primary schools I attended in Johannesburg. The one primary school I attended in Cape Town asked random students to help sweep in class and always asked us to keep it tidy around our desks.
They should ban alcohol I got knocked off the N1 5 months ago and laid 18 days in hospital due to a broken femur and ankle and the guy who knocked me off had 99% alcohol in his body and had no lights on at 10pm DOWN WITH THE ALCOHOLICS
JP Smith. Good evening. Could you get some guys to patrol between the N2 and Jakes Gerwell between the hours of 12am and 3am from Thursday to Monday morning thanks. The non racing public actually work for a living and need their rest, and for the safety of non racers on the road and the racers themselves. Thank you...Klaar Gepraat😉
@JAKETHESNAKKE quite the contrary my "friend". It's no secret that ALL Cape Town highways and main roads and intersections have live CCTV monitoring. Not forgetting the fact that as you can see in the video, there are licence plates on the Polotjie. Communicating with patrol cars ahead will alleviate any need for reckless and dangerous driving by a government official, not to mention they can quite simply proceed to the offenders place of residence and arrest him there. Embarassing him at his house is far worse that passers by. Have you made the time and taken note of how many marked official vehicles are auctioned off due to being in unrepairable condition after your friends in the Government have written them off, after being "trained"? I didn't think so. As they say, don't use cannon ball to kill mosquito "friend"
Totally agree with you. Even if the police are trained to drive at high speeds what about the traffic surrounding the police. Ridiculous, they watch to many movies. You have all the technology to not have to drive like a maniac to apprehend your suspects. Fact is that the environment does not lend itself towards that type of speed and driving. Period.
@MB-bg4mz before commenting, and sounding factual, it is important to first understand the facts. What if the vehicle is registered elsewhere in SA? What if the vehicle is not regustered or driving under false plates? What if the owner says someone else was driving? What if the owner has reported his vehicle as stolen? (Please see my Facebook feed to see how many of these vehicles we arrested the drivers over the last few days, because these vehicles were stolen). I appreciate you watching the videos we put out, to keep the public informed. But please also make sure you keep yourself informed of all the facts. If you follow overseas, 1st world countries with leading policing agencies, you will see we are duplicating the same 'best case' practices.
Al wie mag ry soos hy wil, is n Taxi Wil nou my Kar inruil vir n Taxi....God! dan gaan ek ook vinnig by my werk kom 🙂 Jy hoef nie te Stop of stadig te ry....dis kak lekker!!
The work the officers are doing is great, and I am all for it. However, I would like to point out that the law is only enforced on the poor and middle class. Let's say there’s a situation where a very high net worth individual, who earns north of 8 figures yearly. He owns ridiculously powerful sports cars and super cars, 3x faster than what these fine gentlemen are driving. Realistically speaking, they have absolutley no chance of stopping a McLaren 675, a Porsche Turbo S or even a BMW M8 competition. unless the driver is kind enough to allow them to stop him, they have no chance. Even if the driver does get stopped, he can pay his legal team whatever amount of money they require to make the problem go away, and just like that, the problem is solved. So to him, he doesn't have to even waste time " worrying " about police. He lives his life how he wants. Everyone else worries, not him. I do not condone breaking the law. However, if money can solve a problem, and you have money ... there is no problem. Laws are for the poor and middle class.
Dankie jp dat julle ons paaie veilig hou.hopeloos te veel mense wat onder die invloed bestuur,en onskuldige mense ly daaronder kry seer en gaan dood.hou so aan trots op julle
JP needs to make more videos like these and show the country the amount of hard work that goes into making CPT such a wonderful city. Keep it up👊
Keep up the good work gentleman. It makes all the difference to us.
Nice to hear a focus on behavior and not just speed enforcement
Hi thnx JP Smith and ur team thnxs for keeping us safe on the roads we appreciate all ur hard work ❤❤❤just be safe out there🙏🙏🙏🙏
Seems traffic police only go for soft targets like normal citizens and skip the taxis.
😂 both of you go and how check how many taxis gets impounded on the daily.city of Cape town does not have the support from gov when it comes to removing taxis permanently
@@arthurasia9300 Yet the lawless taxis drive with impunity. While cops could be used to deal with the taxis they rather chase guys with modified cars.
Yes, we do. We impound nothing less than 500 each month, national legislation was amended to prevent us from now impounding for the conditions we were allowed to do so before.

Big thank you to all law enforcements working over this festive season.
Thank you JP Smith for the video! keep them coming please! lets make Cape Town great again!
Year-round TAXI focus is needed PLEASE!
dankie dat jul ons paaie veiliger hou. die paaie in ons land is van die gevaarlikste op aarde, en julle doen darm wat julle kan om te help
Jpsmith we need more of these videos. So ppl can see more of the hard work been done.
Funny how 150cc checkers bikes are allowed on the highway. Guess I'll ride my bicycle there too.
It will be perfectly legal as long as your bicycle has an engine displacement of at least 125cc and has passed roadworthy test. Nothing lower than 125cc allowed on a National Highway.
@banditboy6444 and don't forget a license 😊
Funny how the Checkers bikers drive how they want and are become more of a nuisance than the taxis
Kamakazi riders.
New cars dashboards are illuminated permanently. People who drive these cars are dense and unaware that they need to switch on headlights at night ; they see a illuminated dashboard
but what about stopping cars to test for hard DRUGS why don't we see this being done???
Joh. Look at those roads and working lights everywhere. Its like another country.
How about the taxis
That's a never-ending battle friend. The taxi association has no desire to make the needed changes
They get a special pass
I hope Cape Town realises how well they have it compared to the rest of this banana republic.
Semigrate👍

Thanks very much Alderman JP Smith and your teams for keeping Cape Town safe.
I thought the reckless drivers were those two Sixty60 guys 😂😂😂😂
As for engine size. Are those 60Sixty legally on the freeways? N1.
They should ban alcohol I got knocked off the N1 5 months ago and laid 18 days in hospital due to a broken femur and ankle and the guy who knocked me off had 99% alcohol in his body and had no lights on at 10pm DOWN WITH THE ALCOHOLICS
but Taxis can do what they like

Which golf is this
Golf 8 GTI
So the police drive recklessly at very high speeds to catch someone else thats just driving recklessly? Doesnt make sense
Police are trained to drive at those speeds. With your logic they should just stick to the speed limit and let your friends get away?
