So many things in a short interview from a lifelong GNCC fan:
    1) The level of candidness from a top-tier guy that's usually quiet is awesome.
    2) I think he's right in the sense of the speed not being that much faster, if any, than when he retired, just more guys at that level today.
    3) From this interview, it sounds like that killer win-all mentality is rare, and he has learned that from training other top-tier riders. But it all makes sense; look at the mental attitude on the track of the champions in the past. They all have that simple, win-or-die mentality.
    4) Loved the comment on the type of tire comment about riders being so picky today that it's because the tire was wrong or something on the bike made them lose. It's a dirt bike; go out there and ride and win. It's that simple. Neal did it this year in the final race, lost his rear brakes on the first turn, and won the championship. Win or die.
    5) Him being so open about KTM, the job he had, the actual pros and cons about it, the detail on his new contract, and him just being himself, not trying to be an influencer or kiss ass or be likable. His attitude is he's paid to win, not to make friends. That simple. I respect it.
    6) This is my personal opinion. and total guess: There are a combination of factors that lead him to say, I can do this, but I believe the real underlying one is that he's trained new younger guys over and over, and now he's like, Let me just go show them that I know wtf I'm talking about, and even with industry changes, it's really as simple as consuming yourself with winning in all aspects and going out there and riding the damn bike regardless of manufacturers, opinions, and tech. But I could be wrong.
    7) Last one: This also is going to show his son in person how it's done. Prep and train him to be the next decade champion.

I know the not having fun feeling when racing. I grew up just riding dirtbikes and didn’t race much. It was an every weekend thing with my dad. It was something I looked forward to every week. I started racing woods district 11, gncc. I started racing every weekend. It would be 36 weeks of the year racing. It was fun at first. I was decently fast and did well at local races. I stopped having fun with it. It got to the point where I stopped riding all together. I haven’t rode now for many years. I miss it, I’m hoping one day to get back on a bike and start having fun’s with it again .

There is a HUGE difference between getting paid to ride versus getting paid to win. One is a fun profession and the other is a giant ball of stress and anxiety. Unless you are already a multi time champion the guys in 15th are having a much happier time racing than the guys in the top 3 every week.

@@Roger.TFan boy..lol. They are in massive financial trouble, and they're stock has crashed 90 percent. Massive restructuring to TRY, and save the brand. They lost hundreds of millions in profit.
Another casual couch racer, with an opinion, I see.😂
      Current state of KTM:
Upper Austria Governor Thomas Stelzer, quoted by APA, said, “Of course, as politicians, we want to help and support. We are doing everything we can to save the factory and the jobs. However, EU state aid and insolvency laws de facto exclude liability.”
KTM’s debt crisis comes after years of aggressive expansion, after Pierer Industrie AG purchased Husqvarna, GasGas and a 50.1 percent controlling stake in MV Agusta, and has been exacerbated by the post-Covid 19 pandemic economic downturn, in which dealers have had to slash prices on floor stock just to keep up with sales targets.
According to Italian website GPOne, the 2023 financial year saw KTM produce a €100 million ($104 million) profit, a reduction of €281 million ($294 million) from 2022, with the share price dropping 90 percent to $11.65 at the time of writing.
KTM has taken the steps to reduce its board members from six to two, with Gottfried Neumeister joining as the Executive Board as Co-CEO in September.
