The First Take started in Nov. 2019 as a Sony project and initially only Sony-affiliated artists appeared but it was soon expanded. There have been various offshoots, such as Home Take, First Take Fes, First Take Stage (an audition show), First Take Music label, and a podcast. There has been quite a variety of artists on FT, from various genres. Artists have said they go on it because the format is so simple, with none of the over-production common on albums and live shows.
On March 11, 12 years ago, TUNANI stopped 300 meters before my home and here I am still alive. Everyone was struggling to recover and rebuild. A year later, my father was found to have cancer. It was too late. If not for the earthquake and tsunami, he would have survived. This weekend will be the equinoctial week. I would like to play this song at his graveside. (Translated by deeple)
We already knew that Su was an exceptionally powerful vocalist, but this performance showed a level of subtlety and technical precision that we have never really seen from her before. She's really taken her singing to a whole new level. There has been furious debate in the fan community about who the three figures are and what it means (it definitely means something; nothing with Babymetal is accidental or flippant) but no-one knows for sure. We will find out on Fox Day.
Hey the most impressive part of this song As I understand MONOCHROME WAS RECORDED 5 years a go and your right this is a peace Amazing as only this amazing girls can do
Yes, the song is from 5 years ago, but I am not sure the recording is from then. Night Night Burn from Metal Galaxy was also an older song, but was redeveloped and recorded specifically for MG.
When looking at Su with the pointy crown like hair piece and her outfit with the flash of color on the sides like folded down butterfly wings Does anyone else see The Monarch from Venture Bros.
Fragile yet powerful, su-metal has harnessed total emotional delivery of this song using her ever growing vocal mastery. And moa is there to anchor that whirlwind that is su with her low yet sweet tone. I love it.😊 Oh and gmg if you havent yet i would recommend checking out babymetal’s bxmxc at songs of tokyo plus interview.😊
excellent content GMoon-Metal, the artist on that channel usually perform two songs, and with the flurry of action coming up, it should be interesting to see and hear what it will be.
Babymetal needs to put out an unplugged album...Even in this simple environment, Su is still the perfect performer, with her expression and gestures... Akatsuki Unfinished is still my tear jerker from Su, but this is running a close second in terms of emotional performances....sorry No Rain No Rainbow from Legend S XX. 🥲🥲🥲🤘🦊🤘
The First Take usually does two songs when producing these takes, so in about a week, look for another song drop by Babymetal. This is the usual theme. I was very excited after hearing this. The three girl image you noticed had studio microphones in front of them, so maybe they were singing with Moa, because I did hear harmony with Moa. Also a teaser for the new third member may be coming in a few weeks is what I have been told. To my surprise, this song was so clean, I heard new dynamics in Su's voice I never noticed before.❤
Su’s angel/devil voice seemes to possess a kind of FORCE with a deffinite audio-neuro control mechanism (reminds me of the Voice used in Dune). For when you carelessly happened to hear her singing at work, you have to train to become more resistant to the effects of her irresistable Voice, or your colleagues may be concerned about your teary eyes!
Great reaction (weird and frustrating about your 'Chilli Choco' reaction being blocked). This is another beautiful version of what was already a beautiful song.🦊
Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。What I can say now is ... Thank you BABYMETAL. And thank you Koba for your serendipity. Some 13 years ago, you certainly discovered something amazing and sacred for us. Speaking of the three figures in white hood adding some background vocals, I believe they are the same girls who performed Doki Doki Morning as clone BABYMETAL in Makuhari. The combination of their heights reminded me of them dancing face-to-face with Su, Moa and Momoko.
The power of this version to pierce into our soul is just unbelievable. SuMetal is flexing once again she doesn't need filters or audio effects to deliver the meaning of a song. The three figures dressed in white are probably the extra backing chorus, some people think they might be former SG members or even the same new trio (or new BM mirror unit as I like to call myself) they introduced latest concerts when performing DDM. Sad to hear about your blocked reaction, hope you can fix it. There's another minimalist version of "The One" called Stairway To Living Legend, it was released in 2021 right after BM sealed the group and finishing the Metal Resistance chapters, i don't remember if you already did that but just in case careful with copyright blocked, that clip was filmed at Budokan in 2021 but without audience. Thanks for sharing this GMG and see you next time 🦊🤘🌈
Your analysis of this performance is spot on. This needs to be released as a single in north America. If Kpop can become popular I see no reason why Babymetal cannot make some headway. This may just be the song.
I thought you knew what The First Take is. It is one of the biggest music youtube channels in Japan, they usually bring big mainstream acts under the umbrella of Sony. To have Babymetal there someday was like an impossible dream. Because they are Amuse, not Sony, and because they are metal, nothing comparable in size with the big pop acts. So yeah, everyone was really really excited when this was announced past thursday. Someday you have to take a look at some of the stuff in that channel. The concept is really cool, only one take with this very minimalistic setup. The two LiSA videos, Gurenge and Homura, are extraordinary.
This is the best thing I have seen and heard in years, and I think it will mark a very important point in BABYMETAL‘s history. Finally Su displays her true potential to the world. BABYMETAL not being true musicians, my ass!
Great reaction, thanks! Su-metal is incredible at conveying the emotions (as we all already know). But this is too much for me emotionally and I'm absolutely blown away. There are a few other songs that hit me this way, like "Akatsuki" unfinished, "NRNR" or the freaking "Graduation Toss", and I try to dose them properly.
A couple of interesting tit bits, I have not verified these myself but apparently Su said in her recent magazine interview that she first recorded this song five years ago and at the time she thought it was a happy uplifting song and she was surprised fans interpreted it to have a darker meaning, it seems the fans changed her perspective that is very interesting, and to me confirms that they do indeed pay attention to what the fans are saying. She also said that during the hiatus she did not have to worry about protecting her voice so she would sing by herself for 8 to 10 hours a day because she just wanted to sing, and that would explain how amazing she sounds now, obviously she was always very good but to me she has definitely leveled up.
👍 👍 absolutely gorgeous rendition of a beautiful song. Regarding the three hooded figures since it is one (first) take it cannot be Suzuka or Moa. My guess is that it is possibly the three Sakura Gakuin graduates that were onstage during the LIVE performance of Doki Doki Morning (portraying the young BabyMetal) at the two concerts last month.
From what I have read from fans who attended the concerts last month when Monochrome was performed there was a break in the song where Suzuka interacted with the audience. She asked them to “Show us your lights!” (Cell phones) she then said “That’s amazing!” “They look like stars!”. She then began to hum some of the lyrics to the song. The fans were absolutely mesmerized.
About the 3 white dressed individuals, some are speculating it's the new member, Momoko possibly, but the heights don't match! Momoko is only 2 cm taller than SU, and SU usually wears heels to be taller. I believe they are the 3 girls that appeared on stage with BM to perform Doki Doki Morning: Sakia, Miko and Kokona! They were also harmonizing with Moa, so... Anyways, Koba is having fun teasing us 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for this reaction. It's supposedly one take, so Babymetal trained for it and delivered. In many senses this is like a studio live performance. Kind of like the old radio broadcasts. A bunch of artists release a second song on the channel, we'll have to see for example in a week time if Babymetal does the same.
I've said it before, but there's a reason why Babymetal was built around Empress Su. Also, about the three cloaked individuals, it really feels like we're heading toward an announcement of a third member.
I think the three were backing vocals behind Moa. It's Babymetal, we will never know who they are I guess. Beautiful song. Raw emotion and still that unrelenting power. 🦊🦊💜🦊🦊
I can't agree more with you; this is another stunningly beautiful masterpiece that reminds me of "Akatsuki unfinished." Su's and also Moas's vocals are just incredible! In a recent interview, Su said they started working on this song 5 years ago, which is mindblowing. I'm not sure when they finished recording the album version, but Su can express so much more emotion with her voice (and no, I am not starting to cry again, typing this....). In the same interview, Su also said that she was surprised by the fan's reaction and took on this song since she felt it was a relatively light and uplifting song when she first heard it. I guess The One focussed too much on the visuals of the lyric video, but to my surprise, Su seems to have changed her approach to the song, giving it more of a sad, devastating meaning with the usual positive message at the end "Just smile"! Regarding the three girls (I guess) in the back, they clearly provided backup vocals for the "oh oh oh" parts. You know Koba always puts in some weird lore, so it could be either a reminiscence to their first live show, where they were wearing white robes, or a glimpse into the future when they become a trio again (hopefully!!!!) on April 1st or 2nd.
Su! What a voice! It is clear how she can stand up to a metal band blaring away in the background. . . . . 🤘🦊🤘
WooHoo!
Ive always thought female rock singers are great when they sing these types of songs.

SU-METALは感情に流されて自我を表出する事無く、こんなにも聞く者の心に訴えることが出来ます。彼女の何よりの禀質だと思います。
Thanks!

We really anticipate the Fox day because most of us Babymetal fans really hope that Yui-metal will return to the band!!!!
Fox day is quickly approaching!
The three robed figures are the backup vocalists that are harmonizing with Moa.
And Koba saw the opportunity to do another tease about the new member
@@chrisharris1522 or something else :)
Thanks!
The 3 robed figures are Babymetal when they were young, innocent and Yui was still a member.....And hopefully a new member ll join them (or Yui??????)
Thinking this like Sonisphere all over again… and hopefully the start of another great run.
That'd be amazing!
This performance will add many more fans to the One 😁❤❤❤
