That version of Whiskey in the Jar was first done by Thin Lizzy, and American Woman was originally by the Guess Who. Sneaking in covers of the original song is a rather dubious move.
Whiskey in the Jar is an old Irish folk song that's literally centuries old. It was recorded at least two times that I know of before Thin Lizzy did it.

The couple I missed confirmed what I already knew...My brain finally achieved new band overload. Even after seeing the answer I didn't remember ever even hearing the song. I immediately (like after the first note) knew that was Lenny Kravitz's cover of American Woman, but shamefully I learned here that Whiskey In The Jar was not a Metallica original, and I never really considered myself a Metallica fan until years after they came out. Think I was all of 15 when LaGrange was released just so you can maybe see what I mean by " new band overload", lol
Relax, it's a good cover. Metallica's problems is they couldn't wright shit after The Black Album (and even that is miles away from their first albums).
Several remakes on the list. Tres Hombres Amigo. That little Ol band from Texas. Sounds best with Billy’s Pearly Gates! I got 28 right. Didn’t do so well with grunge music.
18 100% right, 3 where I got the song but not the artist - because I knew the original version e.g. Whiskey in the Jar - so that's 19.5... Plus La Grange by ZZ Top Very hard.
I "missed" 5.... the only one I didn't actually know was The Killers. I knew the others just couldn't come up with it in time.... The covers didn't throw me, they sound different from the originals.
The way I was playing was hit pause as soon as I recognized the song... I missed #22 thinking was "Edge of Seventeen" by Stevie Nicks 😅 and #32 for "C'mon feel the noise" by Quiet Riot Don't tell me that they are not the same!!! 🤣🤣🤣
The last one was La Grange, by ZZ Top. I missed 5, one of which was a case of the wrong word, but that one and one other, I knew the band, although I didn't know the song, and there was a third where I thought, "I don't know, but it sounds like..." and had the right band. So, two complete misses.

La Grange by ZZ Top which would have been the tenth right guess from me with both song and band. I probably got about ten more where I only got the song or band correctly but not both. There were only about 5 intros where I didn't know either song or band at all. Not bad for a beginner.

not excellent, way too easy.

yes. That is the verbatim intro to Rock Of Ages by Def Leppard.
