Hello 👋 from New York USA Thank you for Bringing me Along with you Guy's I can't wait to see What you Find Next 😊 see you tomorrow on the Live show 😀 😊 ☺️ 😄 🙂
Great one , enjoyed so very much . Loved the sculpture Phil and all the small jars for Caroline were so nice . Great day and history and scenery super nice !!! 💞
Glad you enjoyed this video Rosia, we are so blessed to spend time surrounded by history and nature, and then to have the joy of sharing our adventures with lovely people like yourself, thanks for watching 🙂😎🐼
Yes Adele the Queen was an amazing lady who will be missed, she was very wise and hard working, and she never gave less than her best for the country. 🙂😎🐼
Myself and family here in Greenville,SC USA... Always thought she was a fine woman that stood above many... seems she will be terribly missed and remembered!
So happy to hear that you enjoyed the video and the craft Evie... The Queen was an amazing lady who understood that true power is revealed by service, she'll be missed. 🙂😎🐼
He sounds like a very clever and gifted man Marilyn, it must be wonderful to be able to play🎵 music 🎵 but even more precious to be able to teach it! 🙂😎🐼
Aww, the dogs look soo happy splashing about in the water 🐶🐕and I do love the standing stones and your miniature in the garden was beautiful. Fabulous finds as always from the dump that keeps on giving! Thank you so much my lovelies xx Teresa 🇦🇺❤
Yes, we had lots of dogs in the river with us this time Teresa, I think they were glad to cool off 🌞🐕 So glad you liked the standing stones and the model version. Take care and thanks for watching 🙂😎🐼
Another interesting episode and Phil, your craft was beautiful! You really have a talent for making things. Thank you and I'll see you on the next video. Have a great weekend Phil and Caroline! 😊
Love your stone circle you made and the real one, as a person who lived near Salisbury, love Stone Henge, I have a huge painting my mum painted of the monument, it hangs over my head as I write this, wish I could send you a picture of it, it is beautiful, calming. atmospheric, she was good, still miss her after 8 years.
Glad you liked the craft and finds, thanks for watching. The Queen will be missed, she was a very wise and hard working lady, who never gave less than her best for the country. 🙂😎🐼
What a lovely feel-good video to be able to watch on a day when I'm feeling a bit reflective and sad at the loss of our Queen. It was so life-affirming and interesting and thank you for those interesting facts about the Eisteddfod. You had some nice finds in what's such a beautiful stretch of the river Ogmore, as well as at the dump. Oh yes, I remember milk deliveries in bottles. The 4am whirr of the electric vehicle as it came into the street and the distant clink of bottles being placed and the empties taken away and put into crates. And a bare-footed trip to the door at 7am to take in the milk, the tops usually pecked, so the birds could take their share! I loved your shed work. It was inspired and really artisitic, bearing those words from what is my most favourite national anthem in the whole world. I could picture it spot-lighted and turning slowly on a turntable. Just lovely and so representative of an Eisteddfod! Thank you!
Thank you for such a lovely comment Miss Merrily, we are so pleased to hear that the video made you feel good, as that's so special. Some people used to put plastic caps off the polish on the bottles to stop the birds pinching the cream 🐦 It's great to know that you liked the craft, and you're not on your own in thinking The Welsh Anthem is among the best in the world. Take care and thanks for watching 🙂😎🐼
Hi Phil & Caroline! Sooo many jars wow!!! Wows all round. Congrats on the pipe stem Caroline. Love the river, how high does it flood?? 🙂 curious question haha. We don’t get floods like you guys. We get TSUNAMI FLOOOOOOOODS in the creeks 😂😂 I’ll film it happen this winter! It’s crazy
Yes Adam, they liked their jam around here in the 1950's 😄 In a wet winter the levels get very high on the rivers as the water rushes down from the mountains. The rivers we paddle in would be over our heads in places and the speed as it flows by is frightening 😱 Look forward to seeing the flooded creeks when you film them, but be very careful, as fast flowing water is dangerous. 🙂😎🐼
Yes, it was a warm day Angela and lots of dogs were glad of the chance to cool off 🐕🌞 If you like to know more about the Eisteddfod and it's Druid links, there's a rather comprehensive piece on Wikipedia en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eisteddfod Hope this is helpful, thanks for watching 🙂😎🐼
We have a place called holestone just in the next village, when a couple get married we go and join hands through the standing stone which has a hole in it.
Your lovely artistic wife could possibly letter those words if the paper labels don’t hold up. I love the Vaseline jar, it was a staple of my childhood.
@@LetsgowithTheJohnsons not quite all but i do have a few new ones and spares if you would like some pictures to see if you need them for your collection at the next annual brick swap
'Mae hen wlad fyn nhadau' ! that would be a lovely thing you hear, here in Ottawa. many Welsh people of Welsh families, and even some Welsh-speakers. 'Rwy'n gwerthfowrogi'r Coch ar y Ddu' - (i had to translate)
Diolch yn fawr Sian, we are blessed with a national anthem that sounds good, and a lot of male voice choirs who perform it brilliantly, but for powerful emotion, I think it would be hard to beat the sound of it being sang at our National Stadium for the rugby... th-cam.com/video/aVZHklqNGoo/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=GuinnessSixNations So glad you liked the red on black (I used translate too). Hi Phil & Caroline 😁 Why do you think there is a distinct lack of clay pipes in Wales? Hubby and I often ask ourselves this question 🤔 We've found a few river worn pipe stems (I actually found one in a mole tump in a farmer's field lol), but never a whole pipe...or even a broken bowl! Maybe us frugal welsh rarely threw them away, made them last as long as possible 😂 We actually live very near Bridgend, 7 miles away in Maesteg. We both love your channel and look forward to watching each new upload every week! 💜
That's a very good question Meryl, we had to go to Yorkshire to find our first clay pipe and have only found a couple of damaged pipe bowls in Wales. I think part of it is the massive concentration of workers in the Yorkshire mills, which predate the growth of the coal and iron industry in Wales which meant that workers began smoking cigarettes which became popular from the late 19th century. However we did find one of our best ever pipes just a few miles from our home, here's a link to the video just in case it's one you haven't seen, th-cam.com/video/-YlqVJOB65Y/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=Let%27sgowithTheJohnsons%21 So they are here, but this find would support my idea of timing as the Canal predates much of the major industrialisation in the valleys. Thanks for the question and the kind words about our channel 🙂😎🐼
@@LetsgowithTheJohnsons Ahh, that makes perfect sense, thank you for the information. So by the time the coal and iron industry took off here, the many workers that flooded in were, by then, smoking cigarettes. Thank you for the link, I'm sure we've watched it because I can't remember missing any episodes...but I will double check to make sure 🙂 Oh, and you're very welcome! Diolch 🙂
Phil either has an excellent memory, or Caroline has large cue cards. My bet is on Phils memory. I love the history when it comes from regular people, it isn't white washed like some of the documentary shows on national TV and seems much more personable than the mainstream shows are, plus, the hosts are much better in your history clips!
No, Caroline doesn't have huge cue cards 😄😂 But I have a very poor memory when it comes to recall, as I have no images in my head, there is a word for it but I usually say, while most people think on windows my brain still runs on Doss! But something I learned to do when I was young is to cram memorise before I walked into an exam room. So now I carry a piece of paper with the details on it, which I read and reread before the History Talk. But the one thing I am passionate about is trying to make the details interesting, by telling the story and making it real. Thanks for the encouraging comment 🙂😎🐼
@@LetsgowithTheJohnsons I don't have images in my head either, I rarely even dream anymore as far as I know. I also used cue cards. Cramming before tests usually only confused me though. Have a great week!
I missed the premiere, sorry. After you see the dog you got a piece of pipe stem. I think it's the thinnest piece I've ever seen! Maybe it's very old, or it's one of those tiny ones children blew bubbles from?
Catching Premiers is never easy Lise, as we find so often... Yes, that pipe stem was super thin, I wondered if it may have been the thin end of a church wardens pipe as they could be a few feet long?? It's a mystery but fun to find, thanks for watching 🙂😎🐼
