Noted! Never played either but a friend has the Saturn version (a special edition with a puzzle ^^). Thanks for the video btw. Keep up the good work, awesome channel!
The saturn game has some small changes and improvements. No censorship, so they included the suggestive images after each match in STory Mode. The intro animation was upgraded and changed in some small detaills. Also the BGMs sound better. But then again there are some small details included at the PS1 version that the Saturn lacks... Most noticeable are the different Stages for some characters, diferent treatment of the VS screen , including some voices. Well the Saturn game was released 1 year later, that should explain the changes, and maybe the Censorship policy by Sony.
One of the rare times that the Saturn can actually do transparencies. Not that this game was hard to do it with at all, considering the minimal amount of sprites.
Saturn can do transparency with its VDP2 right? I know several instances of real transparency on Saturn so it's not "rare times" here. Still a shame that the hardware design wasn't more straightforward.
+Okami™ Ye, Sonic R is quite advanced actually, too bad the gameplay kinda sucks. Others games with some transparency effects: Burning Rangers, Guardian Heroes, Radiant Silvergun, Astal or Shin Shinobi Den.
Another fight game that never made it to the U.S. for either console. I'd say the Saturn version was better due to it not being hampered by censorship.
I'm not familiar with the title. The Saturn version looks like a port and a redesign at the same time. The PlayStation version certainly has more transparencies (the character screen between bouts is a bit lazy on the Saturn - mesh transparencies are useful if you don't want the Saturn's forward rendering system to consume polygons in the background, but there aren't any to consume here), but I prefer the way that the Saturn's shadows don't overlap each other (curiously, a limitation of the hardware). That said, the PlayStation version wins on this count. The stages are certainly more detailed in the Saturn version, but they do look significantly different so it's not a direct comparison. The PlayStation version has full-screen video and slightly smoother speech, though there's some added stills following each bout in the Saturn version, and I think the Saturn version loads a tiny bit quicker. Which is best? Pretty much a wash, really.
@@zecle Basically. It was an adult computer fighting game series. After each fight you'd get to see an image reward of the fighter that lost. The console ports had nothing more than fan service on the PCE & Saturn, more so for the PCE, while it was toned down for the Saturn. The PCE didn't have the in-between round images but it did have an exclusive image at the end of story mode that isn't in the other ports. The Saturn's images were edited PC images. The PS1 version was completely censored. The PC game series eventually stopped being fighting games and changed over into visual novels.
I never heard of this game.I have to do some wikipedia search. Interesting fighting game! Sega saturn version looks redesigned and sharper but PSX version has transparency. I don´t understand, why PSX version has plain and washed backgrounds. I know that PSX can do better with background graphics. I think Saturn version wins comparison but if you own PSX version, you should buy PSX version of the game.
Despite Saturn is far better in 2D games, this PSX version is SUPERIOR, better backgrounds, videos, sprites, etc... Saturn is only better in BGM and SFX
Saturn wins. The backgrounds look far better and far more detail. Saturn version looks sharper and smoother. The ps1 port isn't bad but the backgrounds look like shitty 3d textured polygons backgrounds look washed out.
Better resolution on ps1 intro!!! Saturn, no transparecies on select scree!!! Better and more detailed backgraunds on PS1, Saturn backgrauns are like a sematary!!! Less corlors on Saturn,
The saturn intro seems to be 16:9, so nothing to do with resolution. The select screens look identical, with the exception of some color choices. Much better looking stages on the saturn. Colors are identical. If you're gonna comment on youtube, don't drink. :)

thanks for watching ^^
One version plays better than the other?
Saturn control for fighting games is better, but the gameplay is the same in Advanced VG
Noted! Never played either but a friend has the Saturn version (a special edition with a puzzle ^^).

Thanks. I did not know I have 6 versions of this games on all system into I searched them on launchbox

Just a bit of censorship if compared to the PC Engine version of the game.
Variable geo e o jogo bom eu joguei no super Nintendo.

Character select screen copies Street Fighter Alpha so much!!!!!

Yes, Saturn Version = Port and Redesign (limitation of the hardware ?)
How did a hentai game become a fighting game ???
@@zecle It didn't become one, that's how the series started.
@@ENiceGeo so the porn content was a reward as you progressed in the game or what ? i don't understand.

So... It's a tie?
You left out an important detail. Kaori's sprites are different.
Why are the stage design are so different for the same game? Saturn looks better....
You think these are different, wait till you see the same stages on the PC-Engine and SNES if you want to count that one too.
Oh yeah really cool 😎
Despite Saturn is far better in 2D games, this PSX version is SUPERIOR, better backgrounds, videos, sprites, etc... Saturn is only better in BGM and SFX
maybe the Saturn's version have more details ... easy to find better and more impressive 2D fighting games in both systems.
PS1 wins, look at shadows 7:21 OMG
Chiho’s mah bitch.

Zoddthe Immortal the Saturn version is true 2d graphics instead of 3d flat untextured polygons to fake 2d graphics (PS1 doesn't support 2d)

Even in 2D games the Psx is better
PS1.
playstation
ps1 wins
Much better backgrounds on Saturn.
Other than that,same shit
Saturn FTW!
