  • After encountering a Cobra at the beginning of the trail,
    在小徑的起點遇到一條眼鏡蛇後,
    This Yangmingshan night hike gets really interesting.
    這次陽明山夜行真的很有趣。

      我真的很高兴听到。 确实,许多人认为蛇会攻击他们看到的任何人。 事实上,大多数蛇都很害羞,只想得到一些空間。

    紅斑蛇=赤鏈蛇(遊蛇科無毒)、過山刀=烏稍蛇(遊蛇科無毒)、青蛇=翠青蛇(遊蛇科無毒),這一些無毒蛇遇到危險都會分泌臭液或是酸液驅趕敵人。感謝分享。

    40 in one night is crazy! where in YMS was this? I never went herping there, and I'm starting to consider it even if it's this late in the year. Saw a snake on the way to QTG just yesterday under the rain.

    • @wildlifejames
      @wildlifejames  ปีที่แล้ว

      It was quite impressive. I'm afraid I can't publicly share that specific location. there are some interesting species to be found in Yangmingshan, and lots of trails. what did you see on the way up to QTG?

      Thank you. I use a little compact Sony RX100 vii camera. It's small, fits in my pocket, yet takes good quality 4k footage. No fancy camera or lenses, though sometimes I wish I had. Light is a 500 to 3000+ lumen Acebeam. I use Davinci Resolve to edit the videos.

      @wildlifejames  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends where you go. 4 or 5 in a night is typical in a lot of places. 5 to 10 in better places. There are some spots that just have a lot. especially counting 紅竹絲 haha

    Hi James, would you say that most of these snakes were spotted close to some sort of water source? And when are they most likely to appear, dusk or dawn? Would like to know what to watch out for if I hiked in Yaminshan at night. Thanks.

    • @wildlifejames
      @wildlifejames  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Generally if there are water sources nearby, there will be more life, therefore more food, therefore more snakes. Cobras are more likely to be out and about during the day and just after dusk. though I have seen them at midnight too. Generally there are more snakes out at night. As long as you watch where you are walking, there is almost no danger of a bite. The do not attack people
