Get to know Doom Island and the meaning of the word Doom and historical evidence on Doom Island, Sorong City
Pulau Doom or Pulau Dum is a small island in Southwest Papua Province, Indonesia.
The location of this island directly opposite the city of Sorong.
The tourist attraction of this island is its historical background and beautiful nature.
In the language of the local population, the Moi tribe, "dum" means an island where many fruit trees grow.
In fact, many fruit trees grow on this island, especially breadfruit.
Administratively, Doom Island is part of Sorong City, District or Sorong Islands District.
It only takes 15 minutes by fishing boat to reach it from the port of Sorong.
The island itself can be seen from the harbor, because it is only three kilometers away.
Based on the 2019 Central Statistics Agency (BPS) report, Doom Island has two urban villages, namely West Doom Village (consisting of 3 RWs and 10 RTs) and East Doom Village (consisting of 3 RWs and 18 RTs).

10 tahun yg lalu pernah ke pulau doom, 1 jam jalan kaki cukup buat kelilingi seluruh pulau, tdk ada mobil di dalam pulau.
