Flying with Thai Airways from Tokyo Narita Airport to Bangkok was a pleasant experience. For convenience, we stayed at a hotel in Narita town the night before the flight. The Boeing 777 is a good and comfortable aircraft. The flight to BKK was smooth as silk, with a delicious lunch and TG standard services.

**About the aircraft
The Boeing 777-300ER, registration HS-TKY, was delivered directly to Thai Airways in May 2015. The first six and last six Boeing 777-300ERs (regist. TKK-P / TKU-Z) were given female names. The name "Yubhaphaka" comes from a female character in the Thai epic poem Phra Aphai Mani by Sunthorn Phu. In this literature, there is a queen of Langka named 'Laweng Wanla,' who is possibly of European ethnicity. She adopted two stepdaughters from a Christian priest: 'Yubhaphaka' and 'Sulalivan.' Thus, these names were given to HS-TKY and HS-TKZ, respectively.
Before the pandemic, the Boeing 777-300ERs mostly flew on European and Australian routes, with some domestic and intra-Asian flights. However, since the older Boeing 777-200/300s (non-ER) as well as B747s and A380s were retired during the pandemic, the 14 Boeing 777-300ERs became the largest in the fleet and served all high-demand routes. Despite their extensive use, the hard products such as the in-flight entertainment (IFE) are of an older generation compared to the B787s and A350s.

Nice video. Thai has a good product in the air. Seats are good and service is quite good. Where Thai fails is in customer support and pretty much anything on the ground. Clunky website and, at least in the US, no telephone support.
