If creating or understanding distance or closeness is something that interests you then checkout how reverb, transients, and volume effects distance as well! Presence is one small item in the list of many things that effect the perceived distance of a sound! I'm sure a simple youtube search would bring up plenty of good stuff!
Saher, I love the content of your videos; I'm learning so much through them. Bravo. I also love your speaking/teaching voice. It stays with me when I sing. I can hear some of your suggestions, comments and teachings. Thank you.
Great explanation! The graphics make a lot of numbers easy to sort out. I believe your work is as good as it gets so thanks for giving us some insight Saher!
Thank you so much for this amazing video, Saher! It was extremely easy to follow and really helpful! I'm really looking forward to the rest of this series! =)
Definitely one I'll be needing more practice on - I tend to focus more on individual instruments rather than frequency bands, because while I found the sub-bass to be the easiest to pick up on, the others proved to be more difficult. if not couldn't find them at all. May even just be the headphones I was wearing, though (Sennheiser HD201).
Hey... Something I like to use to practice hearing frequencies is a mobile app called hearEQ. It let's you use any music you want an isolates different frequencies for you to hear and quizzes you on them.
Saher , you explain everything so easily n brilliantly! Love your videos! Would love to have more EQ Frequency examples n videos! I have other ear training EQ Frequencies but I love the way you explain it simply!
To be a musician is one of my biggest dreams, and this is one of my difficulties. Having the right ear or trained ear is really hard as my trained eye (in art, cause I wanted to be an artist too) and unlike art, I can't practice music frequently because of busyness in making more art for living. I really wish I could train my ears on what is a good mix or a bad mix.
by far the most helpful video I've ever heard!!! You literally solved my problem listening for certain frequencies in 5 min lmao. wish i could've seen this sooner, wasted so much time listening to the wrong stuff XD
So nice to find a calm delivery that doesn't start with "HEY GUYS! WHAAAAT'S UPPPP".
WHY THE FUCK ISN'T THIS FAMOUS?
TH-cam get your shit together
Now this... is how all tutorials should be made.. great job, and humble tone
Best teacher ever!
Thank you! I really have to work on this but I‘ll get it eventually.
I always wanted to know what makes things sound 'distant' or 'close'. You just explained that with the concept of 'Presence'. Thank you so much!
