  • We have a 12.5 tons of lifting capacity for our engine room crane. We will be lifting up 9 tons of cylinder liner in Korea but we are having trouble with our high speed up operation.
    How to trace this kind of trouble?
    Come and join me in this new video.

    The Crane is one of the most difficult machinery on board to troubleshoot not to mention the heights and cramped spaces,along with the mooring/anchor winches. I’m glad you covered this on you videos. Thanks Leckyjake!

    Great video again, keep up the good work! What generally causes such a low resistance in the magnetic brake coil, do a bunch of windings just get shorted together? If the resistance is 1/10th of normal value, the current would be 10x the normal value, wouldn’t you expect that to blow a fuse as well?

    We have a bunch of those at the shipyard that I work at, and they can be some of the most finicky things to work on, especially the older units.

      Hi Roberto, going back sa video, yung contactors are both activating without the motor connections kaya ibig sabihin the circuit is healthy. It is a troubleshooting video kaya need to move to the next step of fault finding.

    Out of curiosity, what would you expect the brake winding resistance to be?

    • @leckyjake
      @leckyjake  2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Around 350 ohms

    • @scottbustos819
      @scottbustos819 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've learned to always verify what the resistance should be and not assume.

    How much might be resistance of the good magnetic breaker ? Around 0.1-0.5 ohm ?

    • @leckyjake

  • @joevisdiplomaticmoves6306

    High up high low,uses dual speed motors right
