Brevidy is a paid subscription plugin (see my description). If you don't need animation, but just stylized captions, Pr has built-in free captions (but only 16 languages), watch the beginning of this video: th-cam.com/video/JRTgBXWnEvI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=q_pm9p9KKIJaDdNc I also compared Brevidy to other paid for caption plugins options a couple months ago, for those interested, here is the link: th-cam.com/video/fPITmB4aMaI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=u1vYzP1uQIeg3m3c
It'll be of great help if you can make a comprehensive video comparing Brevidy to Firecut. I've been looking up many videos about podcast editing tools, and it looks like Brevidy and Firecut are at the top unless I've missed something. I'm yet to decide which one to go for, so a video comparing the two will be helpful
I definitely hear you! In the meantime, this is the best option I've found for directly in Pr. My hope is that the plugin with the most users will get bought by Adobe 👍 fingers crossed they get something like this soon built in! I know it is what we all want :)
Good suggestion to the Brevity makers for the lifetime plan. Subscription plans are an automatic strike one against buying it. Most often they offer mediocre tweaks over time as they siphon your bank account every month. I don't mind paying extra for a major upgrade, but "renting your software" just tastes bad. $18.00 a month... And that's the entry-level plan.
For the AutoCut tool, I'd like to see the actual edited clips in the new timeline instead of the nested sequence. It could be an in out and out point and then copy/paste all layers into new timeline. Then I can fine tune the B-roll for the short that may not have made sense in the longform edit.
@@Brevidy_pro To get around the nested issue i used 'scene edit detection' in PP to make the cuts (so i could manually re-frame) but PP then wouldn't playback and rendering the sequence caused it to crash. Upon re-launching the auto-cut sequences wouldn't play, i then deleted the sequences (because none of my original sequences would playback) and it once again caused PP to crash. I've now burnt 62mins of credits and had to revert back to Opus Pro to finish the project in a timely manner. TBH i'm not thrilled on either, there's alway a caveat that stops me from implementing in our production house...
@@ryanthistleton5371 Yikes! Sorry to hear that.. Shoot me an email and I will add those credits back. Would love to hear more on what is going on that causes things to crash..
Premier Pro is so old school. Its transition are like 20 yrs ago and doesn't even have these feature in caption like capcut do. Even Davinci offer way better modern feature.
Agreed 100%. IMO the problem is Premiere has been built using the same underlying code for like 15 plus years and the Adobe engineering team doesn't want to put in the work to modernize it from the ground up. They seem stuck in their ways and slow to change.
The way I see it, is that they have two target users (1) Broadcast/TV/Film Editors vs (2) Social Editors -- the two have two completely different needs. This is why they spent a lot of time rebuilding color recently, and since tools for social editors has been put on the back burner. Trust me, I wish this was built in too! Who knows, maybe Adobe can buy Brevidy? hmm....
Looks like a game changer 😮 using submachine at the moment which gives good results in general, but it’s sooo time consuming because of a complicated user interface and workflow
The one added benefit of Submachine is that they offer a lifetime purchase option. But I agree, the process can feel a bit cumbersome, but you still get good results in the end. Every platform or paid for tool as their pros and cons 👍
@ I tried the tool meanwhile a bit - the workflow is massively better than submachine ❤️ just still many bugs on the UI. Hopefully the programmer doesn’t loose motivation and won’t give up the project. As the idea and how it works is amazing in general. Subscribed already with your aff-link :)
Adobe subscriptions are already so expensive and adding these plugins 1 after another just keeps adding to the cost. I hope adobe brings in these features inside premiere itself like it did with the transcription.
Premiere offers static captions from the built in text panel with options to stylize in the Properties panel, but no animation. If you're good to use without animation, then you can watch the beginning of this video on the free way: th-cam.com/video/JRTgBXWnEvI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=q_pm9p9KKIJaDdNc
So, I downloaded the trial and I dug the interface but the application would crash/stall when using long timelines. I would get the rainbow wheel of death. Not sure if anyone had this issue when using Premiere Pro 2025 or 2024.
Are you trying to add captions to a long timeline? To note the captions are designed for social videos, so I do not recommend adding animated captions to long sequences, I typically only add animating captions on 90 seconds or less. The autocut feature, however, can use longer sequences.
While the tool is designed for shorter content, it still should support longer sequences. Can you send me an email describing the issue so that we can fix it?
@@PremiereGal Thank you! The owner reached out to me and is working on a resolution with me. Believe it or not, I sometimes i have clients who want a long-form 10-minute video with captions!
Hy Gal!, too expensive, if we compare it to adobe suscription it does not make sence. But is really great. I hope Adobe launches something like instead of lots of AI useless tools.
I show how to edit in the video, select "T" in the panel and then click on the text to edit like a word doc. As of now, Brevidy generates its own transcript, doesn't support import.
I hear you, I can suggest a lifetime option to Brevidy, but no guarantees. You can use it monthly when needed and then unsubscribe when not --- or if it helps you output more content, maybe the increase in your work justifies the expense? 🧐
That’s not going to work until they can do all the AI on your system and not upload anything. Until then a subscription is the only viable way to do it.
@lvthunder but how Have they done it for YEARS? Every tech company has done it. Now all are switching for convenience and I get it, but at some point it will break the system because not everyone can be one subscriptions and no body what's the rent for the rest of her life. We want to own things and that's a part of our nature
the fact that the basic package does not allow autocut means it's a NO for me. Your basic package should have all the features but you can limit them based on credits. this makes your product more appealing. Competitors such as Opus AI have very similar features for a lower cost. Their issue is they limit the amount or credits they give for the starter pack which is absolutely foolish lol
For sure all products have their own flaws and your feedback helps them develop. What I find is a lot of these new tools are "new" meaning they just came to market and are open to change!
