Carr got healthy and was the hottest QB last 5 games of the season with 14 TDs, 2INTs, 75% completion %, 120 QB rating. Saints went 4-1 (Rams loss on the defense 28-33).

The O-line protects this dude, he can catch (throw) fire. We were on a good streak until he got hurt in the Packers where he was helping us lead 17-0 then he got knocked out of THREE games.. Dude is tough nails.

Derek Carr is a badass. #6 in completion percentage at 68.4%, #10 in touchdowns, #10 in rating (would be number 9 but Rudolph ended up at number 1 with only 55 completions lol), 23 qbs threw more interceptions. Played every game all while being really banged up most of the year, and bad offensive line play. It's too bad the offensive line wasn't better so that had a decent run game and our qb wasn't getting bull rushed by 300+ pound lineman way too much.

Brees' 2nd year with the Saints, they finished 7-9. It takes time to build a championship-caliber team. Brees had great skill players and great coaching, but needed a defense. Carr has great skill players, and a great defense, but lacks a offensive line and coaching. In Carr's case, people will say those are just excuses. With Brees, they said he could only do so much.🤷🏿♂️

The fact that in 1 year, despite all the games missed due to suspension and injuries, a terrible offensive line, and the worst playcaller in the NFL, the offense improved from 22nd in scoring last year (bottom 10) to 9th in scoring this year.

@@dl9232Brees didn't have a top tier defense until 10 seasons passed not counting the one they won the Superbowl but hopefully the D is a determining factor next season and Kubiak can speed our offense up enough to get these W's.⚜️
Carr ended the season on a really good note, I'm excited to see what he can do next year, hopefully we can bring in a better o line for him

without MT the receivers got better. without Kamara the run game got better. and after Carr and the Oline got into it, they were significantly better ever since.

Love that Carr came on at the end of the season and they got A.T. Perry the ball more. With Olave, Shaheed, A.T. Perry and Shaq Davis they still have a good young receiving corps. Now get the oline fixed and the offense will be set. Maybe another good young RB and perfect. Oh and a great young quarterback to sit behind Carr for a year or two.

It had a chance to be soft if every team played exactly the same as they did last year and made no improvements at coaching or to players. That is an unrealistic measure and a weak talking point for bored analysts. Looknat the Texans. They were 3-13-1 last year, 10-7 this year. The Vikings were 13-4 last year, 7-10 this year. The Colts were 4-12 last year, 9-8 this year. Too much changes for "strength of schedule" to actually matter.

There were a lot of passes, without scoring or explosiveness, that stood out to me all season. The narrative that he won’t deliver under pressure was very wrong this season - and he was under pressure a lot. This reminds me of Derek Carr under Jon Gruden’s 2021 season but with better talent.

Everybody wants instant results...instant chemistry...to blame the QB. I've been watching Derek since he was drafted... he was in a screwed up system his whole career. 5-6 new head coaches and offensive coordinators. You prob won't find one QB that went through that much change in his career!!! So many failed draft picks. Had to adjust to multiple scheme changes and I knew blaming him was wrong. Saints fans say he is who he is.. NO he is who that messed up system aloud him to be. Keep him here 4-5 years in some stability and you will see a Derek Carr nobody has seen!!! Pretty sad that the fans started to turn on him this season. At least let it grow and see what happens. Derek knows who he is and knows what he's capable of in a stable system. Yep. This is his 7th system in 10 years. All these other so called “elite” QB’s all have stable systems, good offensive lineman and great receivers.
You give Carr some stability and he will flourish. It was learning on the go with these young receivers and now they are all ready to really shine next year.

As a Raider fan, the guy is good. He's no Drew Brees but trust him and your defense run by Dennis Allen and if you give him protection he can take you to playoffs. He has good tools around him too, good WR, good TE and a good RB. He's one of the best gunslinger out there

@@laxidon Not arguably going by his stats. Last 5 games - Most touchdowns 14, next in line had 11. Completion percentage was 74%, the next guy with over 18 thrown was 68%. Rating was 118.9, next on the list was Lamar at 114, with Mayfield and Stafford having 106.5.

He wanted 3-6 years but maybe longer of a rebuild. There is a reason teams don't rebuild all the time. It takes at least 3-6 years and there is no guarantee of success.
