@Soumit Your information about conductors giving counter ticket is wrong. Actually conductors informs the counter staff that they are ready to go then counters start issuing ticket. In your case the bus was from Darjeeling depot, so issuing tickets beforehand is risky.

NJP theke Siliguri koto dur? Kivabe jawa jaabe

Siliguri junction is around 6 kilometres. You can take a city auto from NJP which costs 30 rs.
E-rickshaw are also available. They charge 100 rs.
