I’m not gonna complain about Brandon writing too little until I’ve starting actually writing my own book 😭🤣 But I know what your saying, the genius of his plans and complexity of his morality is absolutely fascinating. Plus it’s just badass that he was literally believed to be an indestructible god cause he basically was one for hundreds of years.
Imagine being the most powerful and invested immortal being (who isn't a shard) in the entirety of the known Cosmere, just to get killed by a teenage girl.
@@studiosrp8860 Idk bro. Fullborn Compounding is truly disgustingly OP and it makes Rashek's death a bit hard to believe at times. Rashek can run at Mach 10, slam Hoid with a Pewter Compounded 10000x strength punch at 1000x bodyweight. I'm pretty sure that's an insta kill for anyone.
The Lord Ruler is one of, if not the best villain in all of media. I went in the first book completely blind and that aura he had of all powerful yet mysterious God was genuinely believable. Until they revealed the nature of steel inquisitors and the Lord ruler I truly believed the characters were dealing with a God, which made the fight scene against the inquisitors so amazing. I actually screamed when Kelsier killed the inquisitor, I genuinely believed those fuckers were immortal and having Rashek knock Kelsier out with a single slap left me more surprised than I could remember being with a series. Holy shit that was one of the best books I have read in my life
Honestly, The Lord Ruler was flawed but ultimately saved the world. He dealt with Ruin in his ear for a thousand years and obviously went insane. But without him, everyone would've died in book 3. Just look at how the characters of Mistborn changed in the first trilogy. Elend became hardened and basically conquered, Vin became a killer, even Sazed changed too. I can't imagine Elend, for example, would've done better then TLR if he had to rule for the same amount of time while dealing with Ruin trying to make him go insane.
Yeah not as frequent as in the past, but I try to keep uploading even if it's just once a week. And I've noticed YT hasn't been pushing out my videos as much lately
I just finished writing a series of short stories featuring a character named Riumur, who had the same powers as the lord ruler would have. And it was pretty amazing what he could do. I didn't even explore the possibilities of spiritual feruchemy that much, and Riumur was still an incredibly dangerous character.
@jmaths117 Imagine if the Hulk was as fast as the Flash, could fly, and was as smart as Iron Man, Reed richards, and Bruce banner. Not to mention, Riumur never had to eat, sleep, drink, or even breathe to survive.

just finished the first trilogy yesterday so this video came out at a great time! maybe Rashek wasn't such a bad guy after all. just a flawed man trying to do what he thought was best at the time.
I’d be so curious to know what he would do if he got to the well one more time. So much of his cruelty was designed well at least argued to keep him in the right place to touch preservations power again. I just wish I could know what he’d do with 1000 years of planning and a second go.
@@bradcallahan3546 He could fix most of the problems he made the first time he used the well, and solve his long term immortality problem with atium compounding having diminishing returns.

I think that was Cephandrius that did that. I think he wanted to fight the lord ruler, but he was ready to move on and didn't give Kelsier the satisfaction.
I wish Sanderson would write more about him, such an interesting character

Not really. Pretty basic character.

He got done dirty that's for sure
Technically Hoid is more powerful
A teenage girl that was inhabited by a god and was guided by another.

The question "what's up with the lord ruler" is low key one of the mysteries that keeps coming up even way after he's gone.
Hope you are doing well! Can't wait to see you back
rest in peace a real one, enjoy the beyond Rashek

He wasn’t insane, just desensitised by life as he is immortal and in addition to this he became unhinged by Ruins influence…

He and Wulfden are my favorite Cosmere villains. Brandon is very good with religious tyrants.
