Todd, I took lessons from you about probably 15 to 20 years ago. You gave the counting tip but it it was a four count. This works great for chipping as well. I use it for chipping and putting everytime i play. Using the counting system takes all the tension out of the stroke. You gave me alot of tips but that was one of the best!
I'm going to give these ideas a try. How frustrating to strike the ball well then constantly 3-putt. I'm tensing up over putts & mechanics flooding my mind.😢
Bernhardt Langer is correct. I believe he used that method in The Open in 1981. I remember that Open because he finished second, four strokes behind my fishing and hunting buddy.
@@USGOLFTVshow Yes, as Langer has staying power! It’s unusual to see his years of success. I really enjoy your show, especially for us “well experienced” golfers.
Thanks Todd. Good advice as always. One other thing that might help (it works for me) is to exhale as you strike the ball. When you learn to shoot, you are taught to exhale as you pull the trigger because it helps you relax and avoid snatching.
Another great lesson, the greens on my course in Lincolnshire UK are about the best I’ve seen them in my 60 years of playing this course. They are slick and true, we are very lucky to have such very good green staff. Nick
Thanks Todd. Any advice on learning to read greens? I was playing a course recently that was set in rolling landscape. I would swear the ball was going to break one way and it would go the opposite! I was just dumbfounded and frustrated.
Todd...good video!! I would also offer to lock wrists==both thumbs down shaft with fingers interlocked; ensures more pendulum stroke and purer roll. This coupled with rhythm thought; TICK...TOCK works well under pressure and simplifies things
I have been struggling with my trail hand getting too active on short putts. I have tried the left hand low but it feels like I've got my pants on backward. Maybe I just need to commit to it and don't keep going back to the old way. My longer putts are good, just those 3-4' ones that wreck your score. I live in Arlington, TX and most of the greens are champion bermuda. If I can fix that pesky right hand, I'll be more fun to be with. Thanks for your video and I'll look forward to any other suggestions with regards to practice.
I’m right hand dominate but I golf left hand. What grip and / or tips do you think might be good for to try? Thx for the great vids. Pat from Ontario Canada 🇨🇦⛳️

Great to hear, thanks for watching Nick!
Meriden, CT thanks for the tip. I’m missing a lot of 10 footers
10 footers are tough, make percentage might be round 20% for a top golfer

Yep! 👍
I wonder if something like that 1 2 and 3 would work for a full swing also.

Stateline, NV (Lake Tahoe) Haven't played for 4 yrs, had back surgery and I'm ready to roll.
You got this, let's make some putts!
Orville Moody was the first player to go crosshanded (left hand low) when he won the US Open at Champions GC in Houston
Moody was a legend and great player. Thanks for adding to the conversation

Pat, thanks for the kind words. I would try the lead hand low based on your dominate hand. Let us know how it goes!
“Just be better”
Best piece of advice my dad ever gave me.
I’m trying to transition to left hand low, but having issues with how to grip the putter. Thoughts?
