Why the fuck have I never heard of this AMAZING song before? I thought I had all of Aurora's songs on my phone ughhhhhhh how many more hidden songs are there!!!!!!! Like I never heard any of the songs in the uploader's account!!!!!!

A lot of the times when someone writes a melodie, they write the one that has been writen before. It sometimes happens to me and is very annoying. Maybe that is why she did not release it.
I don't really know, but personally I'm going through a phase that has a lot to do with the lyrics. I feel like I want to leave my old self behind. Almost like dying, but not quite. Leave my skin behind, start understanding myself without it. Let my spirit be free. So that's how I would take the meaning of this song honestly, but I'm not sure if Aurora had the same thought process.
I think it is about shedding your skin like a reptile does when it grows too big for its skin and needs a new one. For a long time I have used this metaphor personally. Every mental breakdown leads to a transformation - a necessary one. Falling apart completely so that you have to put all the pieces back together is a difficult process. But it comes with the chance to make better choices and find a better order to renew your life and feel free again instead of suffocated by the old skin/life.
I think of it as a longing for home that doesn’t exist here on earth,a place where we don’t have a body ,a place we’re everyone and everything is accepted
