This is my favorite episode yet! She has multiple garden "rooms" and almost all are native plants, full of life and giving sustenance to the creatures there. Also, Rita Venable being the host was a treat! I LOVE her butterfly book. I just looked at it yesterday to check that I correctly identified a monarch! Sure enough, it was. 😄 I love this show. So well done.

I miss Wilson county. I grew up there and its such a beautiful place to live. I guess thats why there are so many people there now 😂. I live in Gatlinburg now and miss home 😢

I didn’t see the species and or cultivar name of the Phlox mentioned. Could I get an 🆔 on it?
Yes, David, there were 3 species of phlox: Downy (Phlox pilosa) and glade (Phlox bifida) were in the dry, rocky area. Wild blue (Phlox divaricata) 'Blue Moon' was in the area with the big rocks.

What kinda of carex?
I asked Linda Robertson (homeowner) about this. She said that the sedge had not been keyed out for identification, but a botanist she knew thought it was possibly James' sedge (Carex jamesii).
