What do you mean? It's not something that needs black magic. Actually glide appeared before the PCM80 (the 70 doesn't have it) on the H3000 and LXP series.
@@italoop7850 Well, smooth, tape like or VSR like glide coming from an “old” quantised system don’t cease to amaze me. Wouldn’t the first big size Lexicons have that too? I mean the ones based on software.
@@javiceres You have to go back to LXP 1/5/15 to find Glide in Lexicons. The 300 has that too... then came the PCM8x series. The old beasts or even the 960 have no glide.
Thanks! That's a PCM80 running "Swell Pad 2", one of my presets available in the first library for the PCM80/81. More info here: www.italodeangelis.com/it/eventide_and_other_stuff/lexicon_pcm_80-81-91.asp This kind of pad is actually different from E.J. sound. This one doesn't use a volume pedal and the attack transients are mellowed out by the Lexicon. Add to it the surround processing! Try listening with headphones and you'll hear what I mean.
I play old dusty synth's from 70's. I use PCM70 for my Reverb, I use MXR 126 for Flanger and Effectron 1024 for delay usually. I would like an effect box. Seriously been looking at Ensoniq DP/4 as can sent mono in stereo out from separate out's from Korg Trident. They reliability is a worry with these now. Unrepairable I'm told. So now looking at another Lex. Would you advise PCM 80 or 81 ? Kind regards
Hi Italo! I'm really into the LEXICON PCM 70! These effects are still evergreens! I red the brochure with Your programs from website! I think that PCM 70's Multitap delay is still one of the best delays on the market! It was Steve "Luke" Lukather sign on musical tracks ... and not only ! Can You tell me what kind of amp 'U played at the end of this video for crunch tone? Thank You & Bye !
@@italoop7850 Hi Italo and thanks! PSA-1 It's a wonder transistor preamp and it sounds closer to my Marshall JMP-1 tube preamp! Do 'U program TC Electronic G-Major 2? If so, Do You sell them? Chain: GTR --- TO --- 1) BOSS NS-50 (Noise Suppressor) --- 2) MARSHALL JMP-1 (MIDI Tube Preamp ) --- send JMP-1 3)TC ELECTRONIC G-MAJOR 2 (MULTI EFX) [ EQ+COMP+WHA+PITCH+MOD] 4) LEXICON PCM70 [STEREO DLY, MULTIBAND DLY] 5) ALESIS QUADRAVERB PLUS (MULTI EFX) [DLY+REV] --- return JMP-1 6) POWER AMP + CABS What doYou Think about? Thanks for the excellent run through, Italo! I've got a PCM-91. I intend to gather a PCM-81. Have a fantastic, magical weekend!
Thankfully, I owned a PCM70 for several years, and indeed, I have lived. Such a beauty.
Eargasm! So much audio goodness
I like the Reverb Shell, it's a great playground for lusch and crazy Sounds.... Nothing Sounds like a..... 😉
It always amazes me to think how on earth they achieved gliding Delays with DSP programming back then.

Why are you so argumentative? Lighten up, he is just making conversation. Chill…
Amazing sounds......
Amazing sound and demo. What Lexicon is used at the begining of the video? The sound make me think to Eric Johnson.

What u used in this vid?70?
Feels like . . . Wait, where am I?
So which one I have to buy for ambient music? They both sound great! (and I can't afford both)
At this point in time go for a PCM81. It'll be a safer choice and you'll get a lot more possibilities.
@@italoop7850 Thanks!
i screwed up and bought a pcm90, this pos only has reverb
ALWAYS read the manual before buying! But hey, the PCM90 is an excellent reverb!
@@italoop7850 ya i just assumed the higher number was the newer unit with more bells n whistles.
