I prefer the handle on the seat to adjust its inclination versus the wheel. If you are sitting in the car waiting for someone or have arrived early somewhere and choose to wait in the car, it is easier to move the seat down to lay down versus having to twist and twist the wheel which takes forever.
It's starting to annoy me how many reviewers say they prefer the higher powered versions of their respective cars. Well, of course you prefer the faster version. Sadly not everyone can afford a 90HP vehicle, even from the Up, and not everyone needs it. The point of these affordable city cars is whether they drive comfortably in city and urban environments. If you're commuting to work on the autobahn every day or a boy racer, don't buy an Up. Don't buy any city car for that matter because none of them have enough power, not without modifications. You buy cars like the Up and Hyundai i10 because they're affordable to purchase and run, comfortable to drive, and convenient In Ireland, insurance for new drivers is extortionate-even if you're mature. Anything above 1.0L or higher than 75HP can be prohibitively expensive without a year or more of experience. So it ends up being that most new drivers have to choose between a cheap higher powered car that has €3000+ of insurance and €800 of tax or a more expensive lower powered car that's cheaper to run, and then hope that their insurance will go down after a few years of no claims. THEN they can worry about more horsepower. Ultimately if you're disappointed by a 75HP Up because of its power, your perspective is not one that many people buying Ups can rely on.
Great review! Appreciate your good mood and sincerity. Here in Brazil the sell this 1.0 TSI with 105 PS since 2015 with some few differences (rear window full open for exemple).
Is the reverse gear next to the first or below fifth gear on the stick?...It looked different when you turned around in the road.. I have a UK 2014 UP and like it very much.
Mr Zee ... you didn't mention that a spare tyre isn't available with the Beats system. What do you think about driving such a car in the countryside without a spare tyre?
The facelifted Up is way smoother and does not feel even remotely the same. At least the TSI does. The TSI is so quiet and has almost no vibration compared to the unfacelifted model. Completely different suspension feel and steering is also different.
Thank you for this amazing (truly) in-depth review Jan! I would rate it 9/10, as I think it shouldn't be longer then 30 minutes. Bear in mind my favourite SaabKyle's video I would give an 8/10. :-) You had me subscribed at my first viewing, dankeschon!
Lustiges Video - dank Dir dafür Nach der Deutschen Variante bekommt man so einen kompletten Überblick über das Auto. Wie lang dauert so ein Review über Beide Fahrzeuge in der Regel ?
Is the 60 hp or 75hp too slow to use as your main car? I'm 25 and trying to save for my first car.....wondering if this would be worth looking at for cheap insurance
Where's the centre air vents? I don't like that. Also the rear windows that do not go down is not nice either. The rest of the car is cool though. The TSI version should come with cruise control to take advantage of all the torque on highways.
In Brazil they made a different rear windows and we can open it full down. Take a look at google images. The fans at the center where strange to me but i can survive the way it is, the side one could be enough.
Why does the holder not fit an Iphone 7+ or equivalent Samsung, every other universal holder, selfie stick etc fits everything, I would need to buy a new, smaller, phone to go with this car
"Pollen" filter is the word you're thinking of.....great review mate!
I test drove the 60 bhp version! Mannn, what a slow ass car but nice build quality. The 90 bhp should be the one for the most.
Wonderful review !! Still looking good and the car looks good too !!

I agree with you, absolutely. Here in south america only Jetta and Up are like that in VW line. Way better for a nap or a rest.

Daniel West You're absolutely right. I have a 75cv Up! and it's a balanced engine, also ok for a trip. Just my opinion.🙂
The phone mount is adjustable. It fits my 6.3in phone.
I dont think thats what he meant

I was thinking of getting one but I have heard of a lot of problems with the gearbox and clutch so I will probably get a i10 instead
think he is in love with that steeringwheel

Grüß Gott aus England. Sie haben Stil genausoviel wie das Auto. Ein Kurzweiliges, vollständiges Video. Ausgezeichnet!
excellent review... liked your patience and honesty. i am buying this car in India.
