  • In my last article on OSP, about the "Tiny Every Day m4/3 Camera" project, I talked about useful accessories and a revamped DIY Camera Wrist strap.
And here it is: The Samurai !
It is based on my version of the Mad Max movie bracelet, which I had modified and improved from the original.
Many other bracelets or wrist straps are also based on the Mad Max movie version, or with clips with push buttons in metal or plastic. However, these are almost all less efficient and/or lose tension, making them unusable. Also, my design here can easily be taken apart and reused, so it can be used much more efficiently and for various other things during Bushcrafting, or on a camera as in this case.
To this version I had added a decoration in the shape of a copper Samurai, and a silver bead that improves the sliding resistance on the bracelet, but they are not necessary to complete the bracelet.
Furthermore, a temporary knot is tied in the central loop, which is easier if you do not want to tie a monkey fist knot, and also more convenient during creation, if the length of the central loop needs to be adjusted.
Small details, such as adding a small cord knot to hold the Samurai in place and the like, are also mentioned in the written tutorial and provided with additional photos on my website.
You can also see other examples of use of this bracelet on the website.
Have fun making the Samurai Camera Wrist Strap !
