@@GarteBera Gnosticism has two branches, one being the Marxist promise of Utopia, the other being the Messianic promise of Utopia, the historicist interpretation of the Bible leading to the second coming of Christ. The end of both is a perfect society made of fairy dust where nothing bad ever happens- the adolescent ideality of the gnostic. I agree that Voegelin is wordy and overly detailed - usually, but not in his theoretical works. The essential problem is that the West is Kantian, and no one understands Kant or even the simplest interpretation of the Trinity. Between Kant and Voegelin, no contest, Kant is infinitely more enlightening but Voegelin explains what went wrong while Kant gives a foundtion for understanding what is right. Voegelin accuses Kant of being gnostic, but this is a gross misinterpretation of Kant. Kant said world government will evolve, not that it should be forced, and certainly not that it should be adminstered Talmudically. Kant was only wrong about one thing: He said we were too smart tofall for this world government conspiracy. There are other forms of gfnosticism - reading Tarot cards, etc, that is not what I am talking about here.
I have a book "Assholes and bullshit" which explains the basic structure of the West and why they want it destroyed. I'm adding chapter on gnosticism, but this is taking me months of reading as it is a topic that I am just beginning to understand. I've had experience with members of secret gnostic societies that show them to be above the law. All secret societies are gnostic - all the main ones - freemasonary and derivatives.
@@GarteBera To understand Kant is a huge effort, not a single book. I would suggest reading Gardner's Routledge's Guide, Kant's Logic then Allison in parallel with the Critique of Pure Reason - in Parallel with Allison's book on the Transcendental Aesthetic. To understand Kant is to understand the Critique of Pure Reason - no other way to start. None of these books are easy - all written at MSc or PhD level. My book explains the basic idea of the CPR in the chapter on science. The first and second chapter explain his political ethics, along with other things. My book explains why the West is being destroyed.
@@GarteBera No, I'm not Sabastian Gardener nor an academic, although I would have been had I not understood the dangers of communism 25 years ago when I was in school. I am self taught, as I was in university while seldom going to lectures in my EE program. I just learn from books.
Voegelin 2:18 "I flatly state that Marx was consciously an intellectual swindler for the purpose of maintaining an ideology that would permit him to support violent action against human beings." Where did Marx "support violent action against human beings" except as the right of workers to defend their interests against the violence of capitalism? Marx spent most of his life analysing capitalism and the class struggle. Is Voeglin's inauguration lecture from 1958 available online? (I did a web search but can't find it.)
His little 100 page book, "Science, Politics and Gnosticism" is a great summary of the con.

Who is a better writer than Voegelin? The name gets a lot of respect, even though you need to learn his nuances in vocabulary.
The Academy is intellectually circling the drain in 2023 in large part because of the characteristics Voegelin describes here.
He saw the future. Such a wise man!
Even for Asian intellectuals, Voegelin is an indispensable guide.
👍 thanks
