Despite Woods not liking Hudson, the latter still went out of his way to help rescue him. Guy was shady, but we can’t say he didn’t have some compassion.
Hudson was probably one of the cleanest people in the CIA. Irl most CIA agents are completely devoid of compassion, so they can do really fucked up things with zero hesitation. I've heard many stories of them trying to recruit actual sociopaths or even sadists. Hudson definitely isn't either of those. Yes, he does bad things, but he does them for a good purpose, not just for personal gain. If that was his only motivating factor, he would have given up on Mason in BO1 as quickly as his superiors.

@@bydlakbolszewik847That's just absolutely not true at all lmao. The ideal CIA agent is somebody that's a social butterfly that's able to get along with everybody. The entire objective of the CIA after all is to get other people to trust them and betray their government for the interest of the United States, so an emotionless agent would struggle in this area of trying to gain that kind of trust. Basically, the ideal CIA agent needs to be more of a psychopath or a malevolent person who can display one emotion or feeling while being able to hide their true intentions. Hudson in terms of his personality probably wouldn't be in the CIAs top 5 for being an agent but since he's familiar with being in foreign countries while most likely being able to speak multiple languages, he could still very easily pass to working for them. Also with the kind of stuff that goes on in Call of Duty, no CIA agent is EVER going to get a chance to experience anything that's even remotely close to something such as assassinations, large gunfights, or interrogations.

Their beef is what adds charm to the campaign... watching their very differing ideals bounce off each other and clash despite everything is what makes them stand out and seem more human, not just following a script and always getting along hunky dory.
My perspective on Jason Hudson in the "Call of Duty: Black Ops" series paints a nuanced picture of a character often seen through the lens of duty and sacrifice. Indeed, Hudson is portrayed as a complex figure, deeply committed to his country and comrades despite the harsh methods he sometimes employs. Here’s a more detailed breakdown of the points I want to mention: 1. **Interrogating Mason**: Hudson’s decision to interrogate Alex Mason was driven by a desperate need to prevent the catastrophic Nova 6 attacks. This difficult choice underscores his willingness to make personal sacrifices for the greater good, demonstrating his commitment to national security. 2. **Relationship with Mason**: Hudson’s care for Mason is evident despite the tough exterior. He chose to support Mason and sought to help him, reflecting his underlying compassion. His refusal to eliminate Mason, despite Weaver’s concerns, shows his belief in Mason’s potential for recovery and his inherent goodness. 3. **Emails and Concerns**: The concern Hudson shows for Mason in various communications highlights his empathetic side. These details enrich his character, showing that he wasn’t merely a cold operative but someone who valued his comrades’ well-being. 4. **Sacrifice in Black Ops II**: Hudson’s ultimate sacrifice to save Frank Woods and David Mason further cements his status as a hero. This selfless act demonstrates his unwavering loyalty and willingness to put others before himself, a hallmark of his character. 5. **Comparison to Adler**: Unlike Adler in "Black Ops Cold War," who is portrayed as more manipulative and morally ambiguous, Hudson's actions, though sometimes severe, are rooted in a clear sense of duty and honor. In summary, Jason Hudson’s character is multifaceted, embodying the traits of a dedicated and selfless hero who faced incredibly tough decisions. His legacy within the "Call of Duty" series is one of sacrifice, loyalty, and a deep commitment to his country and comrades. This man may have a cold demenour but he is not as manipulative like Adler in call of duty cold war
I love how Woods was pretty much right about Hudson being someone he couldn't trust. Since he was the one feeding Menendez all the info about MAC-V and the Noriega Operation. Hudson might've sacrificed himself for Mason & David, but screw him. He let Woods get his kneecaps blown off and tried to make him kill Mason.
They did a terrible job showcasing why Woods has issues with Hudson. Especially in BO2, apparently, it never occurred to Woods that if he did kill Hudson in N’am, then Mason would have died and Nova-6 would have started WW3.
@@meteidac5913 Hudson literally sacrificed himself to save David. Sure Hudson wasn’t the best but he was a good individual for saving David at the end.
@@erentkss7805It's a lose lose situation for Woods. If he was truthful then Woods and especially Mason would despise him since it lead to David dying.

Bo1 Hudson was my favorite character in the entire game. Bo2 Alex Mason becomes my favorite. Hudson is still a good character but I think he's better when you know he's deep down a good guy but has to keep his secrets for the cia
Hate how they totally criminalized Hudson in Cold War. Like that’s all he is. A punching bag for the rest of the team. He’s not cool, calculating and sharp as in blops 1/2. And I hate woods acting. Fucking melodrama we do t need it. God Cold War was cringe
Cold War butchered every reoccurring character: Mason doesn't sound like Mason and barley looks his age. Woods is purely just a joke in Cold War despite having serious moments in the BO1 and BO2 campaign (Russian Roulet, getting his knees blown out, and retelling stories to David) Hudson like you mentioned is a punching bag for everyone and is turned into a semi-villian and acted like no one respected him. I think they forgot who the characters were while making the game.
@@MisterDragon_ The biggest issue there is how they made Woods. James C Burns said himself that treyarch didnt even attempt at calling him back for Cold War and instead replaced him with a low badly made impression of him. (Tho its not the new VA's fault but more the voice directors fault.) And his personality is so goofy, nicer than the og Woods who's a hot-headed and impatient kind of guy.
The only reason why Hudson was depicted as a "bad guy" in Cold War was because the entire game is based around exploring the dark deeds of the CIA and Hudson being in the CIA, he's basically guilty by association. The operation greenlight thing wasn't designed by Hudson but since he's CIA, he's gotta share some of that blame with the CIA as an organization. The only real bad thing he did in Cold War was that he didn't tell Woods, Mason, and the rest of the team about the nukes but not because he didn't want to. If you've ever played Cyberpunk 2077s DLC, then may also see some similarities between Reed and Hudson with their loyalty to their respective agencies
I give Cold War credit for 1 reason, it wasn't even meant to be Treyarchs game at first. All because Sledgehammer and Raven couldn't get along, Activision took their scraps and threw it in Treyarchs face and said "You have 1 year, turn this into a Black Ops game so we don't miss a yearly release" And given the circumstances like COVID with most people including the developers working from home, Treyarch did pretty fucking good. Cold War is not on the same level as BO1 or BO2, obviously. But it was sure as hell better than BO3 and BO4, and it was made in such little time during COVID. I still don't forgive them not calling James though. Woods just isn't the same without James lending the voice
@@MisterDragon_okay, the age thing is bullshit because aging in Black Ops makes no sense. Woods is about late 30s in BO1. BO2 he's 50 something and still looks like he's in his late 30s to early '40s. Same with Mason. And by the way, have you ever seen a 90-year-old veteran? They never look as good as Woods here. Not even 0.1% of the population genetics can do that
Title of this vid sounds like something Hudson would pull out his ass to hold against woods for an argument. (Its 2024 but the shit in question happened decades ago 💀)
Oh my god, now I realized, now the “mole” that you hear about in bo6 is a problem. But they are also connecting another thing that has flew above most of our heads is that when you find the CIA memo in Time and Fate mission, the description of the mission then says “potential mole in the CIA”. So now it’s like it’s all coming back to us now, also since that bo6 is happening after bo2 in the past. It is just some pretty cool that I just thought of. What do you think? Pretty cool right!
@@LennyCvijanovic yes yes it's so good and i'm hyped for bo6 because of this ''mole'' story. someone sold hudson and david to menendez. it might be Adler
@@erentkss7805 there is no way the mole is adler cause the supposed mole is also getting adler into trouble adler is working together with woods, marshall and anyone else
I honestly think Woods had every right to hate Hudson. Hudson was a traitor and a double agent. There was clear indicators in both of the games. In Baikinour, Weaver was burned and compromised. Even though Hudson was not shown yet, there was no clear indicator of how he was caught. In the level “Crash Site”, Dragovich and Kravchenko are seen towards the end of the level. The only reason two high ranking officers would show up to that crash site is if they know a HVT would show up and they did know that Mason, Woods, and Bowman were going to be there. In BO2, the biggest indicator was in the Afghanistan level when Kravchenko indicated that Menéndez had people in the CIA. As soon as he said that, Hudson became defensive and claimed that Kravchenko was lying. In the Panama level, Hudson lied to Mason and Woods throughout the whole mission. Towards the end, Hudson tricked Woods into thinking that Nexus target was Menéndez and manipulated him into pulling the trigger on his own friend. You have to admit that Woods was hot-headed and judgmental, but he definitely had a sixth sense about Hudson.
Hudson was practically the secondary protagonist in Bo1 and if wasn’t for him mason would’ve never came back to normal, then he saves woods in bo2, idk why Cold War made him to be some controlling douche
Wow, I hate to say it but I can’t stand the way everyone sounds/looks in that green light mission. Like, to the point idek if I’d be able to get through the story if I tried playing it. Not only do Woods and Mason not even sound a little similar, they look like different people entirely. And woods talking to Hudson after punching him sounds like he’s just reading the script 😭 I feel like such a hater rn but god it’s BOTHERING me
@InDeinTiz All Hudson did during BO2 was to save David, i'm sure mason would have offered his life to save his own son, hudson even choosed to sacrificed himself over killing Woods, the men that hated him since they first meet.

Their beef is what adds charm to the campaign... watching their very differing ideals bounce off each other and clash despite everything is what makes them stand out and seem more human, not just following a script and always getting along hunky dory.
Forgot how bad bo2 Hudson sounded

It isn't as bad as cold war
Bo1 hudson sounded so badass idk why they didnt just keep that voice actor

Woods repents saving Hudson in 'Nam. Maybe he thought he was the mole in the CIA
I had 2 friends they were like both of these 2 but they never like each other but I had a good understanding with them
Hudson’s voice in BO2 is so bad I’m almost cringing hearing it
It's Michael Keaton bro
My perspective on Jason Hudson in the "Call of Duty: Black Ops" series paints a nuanced picture of a character often seen through the lens of duty and sacrifice. Indeed, Hudson is portrayed as a complex figure, deeply committed to his country and comrades despite the harsh methods he sometimes employs. Here’s a more detailed breakdown of the points I want to mention:

The moment Woods glances at Mason we should have known.
If Woods reached the house 1 minute later the entirety of black ops 2 wouldn't have happened
Hudson was CIA and Woods was MACV SOG (Specials Operations Task Group)
I love how Woods was pretty much right about Hudson being someone he couldn't trust. Since he was the one feeding Menendez all the info about MAC-V and the Noriega Operation. Hudson might've sacrificed himself for Mason & David, but screw him. He let Woods get his kneecaps blown off and tried to make him kill Mason.
They did a terrible job showcasing why Woods has issues with Hudson.
Especially in BO2, apparently, it never occurred to Woods that if he did kill Hudson in N’am, then Mason would have died and Nova-6 would have started WW3.
I always loved this duo
I really hated how Woods treated Hudson
He has a point about Hudson and i understand him
hudson was a dishonest person
@@meteidac5913 Hudson literally sacrificed himself to save David. Sure Hudson wasn’t the best but he was a good individual for saving David at the end.
@@erentkss7805It's a lose lose situation for Woods.
If he was truthful then Woods and especially Mason would despise him since it lead to David dying.
@@Potato_n_TomatoIt was lose lose for Hudson at the end too. If David got killed by Menendez, then it would've been a 110% chance Woods kills Hudson on sight
One thing is for sure, absolutely NO ONE messes with Woods when he's angry

Y'all still like hudson?
Bo1 Hudson was my favorite character in the entire game. Bo2 Alex Mason becomes my favorite. Hudson is still a good character but I think he's better when you know he's deep down a good guy but has to keep his secrets for the cia
Both similar like Michael & Trevor.
After blackops 6 we need a treyarch game set in the Korean War or the 1950s as like a prequel to blackops 1
Hate how they totally criminalized Hudson in Cold War. Like that’s all he is. A punching bag for the rest of the team. He’s not cool, calculating and sharp as in blops 1/2. And I hate woods acting. Fucking melodrama we do t need it. God Cold War was cringe
Cold War butchered every reoccurring character:
Mason doesn't sound like Mason and barley looks his age.
Woods is purely just a joke in Cold War despite having serious moments in the BO1 and BO2 campaign (Russian Roulet, getting his knees blown out, and retelling stories to David)
Hudson like you mentioned is a punching bag for everyone and is turned into a semi-villian and acted like no one respected him.
All because Sledgehammer and Raven couldn't get along, Activision took their scraps and threw it in Treyarchs face and said "You have 1 year, turn this into a Black Ops game so we don't miss a yearly release"
And given the circumstances like COVID with most people including the developers working from home, Treyarch did pretty fucking good.
Not even 0.1% of the population genetics can do that
In alt universe they are best buddies
Wood/Hudson relationship is pretty much identical to price/Kamarov in the mw series. Just with a hint of ill will
I bet he wanted to help the bastard because he wants his family out of this war
Hudson is voiced by Ed Harris in BO1 but in BO2 he's voiced by Michael Keaton. Does anyone know why did they replace Harris with Keaton?
No one knows for sure. He was probably busy
“I just hate everybody” woods black ops 2
I bet he did betrayed them for getting his family out of the war
Title of this vid sounds like something Hudson would pull out his ass to hold against woods for an argument. (Its 2024 but the shit in question happened decades ago 💀)
It’s probably easier to count the times they didn’t have problems
I never liked Hudson. But in the end, he did something selfless

in other words Woods hates Hudson for doing his job.
Can you make a video about secret things and differences of the MW and BO games on the Nintendo Wii?
Wow the men who got blown up by frags
woods has some points hudson wasn't a trustworthy man but he wasn't the mole in the cia

Wood should've never rescued Hudson in nam
Guess ever since hudson lied to him in cold war he no trust him
Mcknight is the one who betrayed them, not hudson, they had hudsons family
Provide proof
Woods never like hudson

Wow, I hate to say it but I can’t stand the way everyone sounds/looks in that green light mission. Like, to the point idek if I’d be able to get through the story if I tried playing it. Woods doesn't like Hudson's dishonesty
Well Hudson was the reason why Mason died in BO2 and in Cold War Hudson was trying to save his ass and let everyone get screwed over
@InDeinTiz All Hudson did during BO2 was to save David, i'm sure mason would have offered his life to save his own son, hudson even choosed to sacrificed himself over killing Woods, the men that hated him since they first meet.
