I’m in the middle of a 2020 RAM Limited buyback. Chrysler/FCA sucks! Truck is beautiful but plagued with issues. Talk with services techs and managers frankly and they will tell you the truck looks beautiful but has some serious issues. I, it saying GMC or Ford are better, or worse, just sharing my experience with RAM.
I don't want to disappoint you, & say be ready for the problems, I'll rather say I hope that you enjoy the ride without any problems. Below the problems I had with my 2015 Sierra Denali. 1. Transmission shuddering & harsh shifting & jerking started after 70,000 Km service before the vehicle completes two years & was fixed at 80,000 Km service under warranty, they changed the torque converter & transmission fluid flush. 2. Shock Obsorber start to leak after transmission problem fixed before the vehicle completes three years, & the refused to replace them under warranty with an excuse that shocks are considered as consumable items, sorry but this is not the first time I own vehicle, for the last twenty years I owned four vehicles plus family vehicles & non of them had shocks leak in three years, I had a feeling that if I replace them with new OEM the problem will occur again so I decided to replace them with aftermarket market shock & I wasn't wrong about my feeling because leter I meet one of the customer who replaced his shocks with the dealer & came back for same problem. 3. Radiator leak replaced under warranty. 4. Ac blower was making noise & replaced under warranty. 5. Transmission problem again after 130,000 Km, & is was still under extended warranty but they refused this time to fix it under warranty with an excuse of that they need to do transmission fluid flush again & use different ATF oil so I filed lawsuit & now the case send to the court because we didn't reach to any fair settlement, & where is the credibility here? 6. I was about to lose my engine twice due to high engine temperature, the first time when the coolent reservoir cracked & leaked all the coolent for no reason, the second time when the heater hose coupler which connects to the dashboard lines starts to leak coolent. Two of my sisters as well they own different models of GMC Terrain & Acadia they had also different type of problems. After 5 years since I purchased the vehicle my impressions is that GM are fitting very cheap low quality parts to reduce their cost & charge high vehicle sale price to increase their profit, imagine that all of these problems in the first 5 years where actually suppose to not have any problems in the first 5 years & don't forget about the number of recalls this is actually tells a lot. Simply I will not be stupid & get into the trap again, I would like to also advice anyone who read my comment don't rush to buy any new models when it's just launched now these days where all what mutter to the manufacturers is making fast high profit for cheap things they make, wait until it has been in market for at least three years because if it has any manufacturing defects you will come to know by that time from Google & TH-cam plus the value will 50% less.
I LOVE my 2016 GMC SIERRA 2500 HD Z71! But if I were to go back to a 1/2 ton, this would be it. Whats the towing capacity and payload on that particular model?
This is the truck for every contractor.? I’m my self is a sub contractor but am welling to spend even if it’s pricy. But a very nice truck 👍. Their for its way better than a ford that’s for sure.
D A I mean they should be covered under warranty as long as they’re fixed under the original bumper to bumper. I’ve had 2 white Malibu’s, one an LT with leather and one a Premier. Both of them had a water leak coming through the 3rd brake light and both had a control arm that creaked. Saying that to say, if that many people are having problems, they probably all will eventually. 😔 I had my first brake light leak covered under warranty, but the second GM wouldn’t cover even though both cars were certified at that time.
I agree but the issue is many folks are without their 60K brand new trucks for days/weeks while the await a “fix”. GM first try’s the caulk/sealant route then if it fails again they’ll consider complete window replacement. I’m not bashing GM I assure you. I’m greatly disappointed as I had planned to buy a 2020 AT4. I realize things happen as I experienced with my brand new C7 and the AFM and A8 as well as the warble issue. I appreciate your response and respect your thoughts. I’m just trying to give a heads up to a prospective buyer. Thanks
Warranty doesn’t alleviate issues, just provides a path to hopefully address. Been thru this with RAM and although they fixed the repeated issues, I was still without my BRAND NEW $70,000 truck for weeks!
Have one too, has had lots of problems. In 5 months, 12 recalls, brake errors, numerous infotainment problems, safety systems malfunction or not working, engine making weird noises and has horribly uncomfortable seats. I love the design of the truck, but it is really flawed.
That 6.2L Big Boy V8 Is My Favorite Motor, I Loved It.
