Omigod, I just heard this song tonight while watching the end of "The Path" and I have never heard this song until tonight. How is that? This song is mesmerizing and haunting.
I think Vincent Stocke's answer is very simplistic (and untrue). That said, it is very frustrating to see exceptionally talented artists who never get the fame they deserve. I discovered Chris Whitley years ago when I worked at a local record store and though he was always well respected by the critics, he never had much in the way of success getting him music out to the masses. Same with MM. If it's not played on the radio, many people don't hear it. Many think the radio is where all music originates from and never venture outside of that to find music on their own. And unless you are an artist on a big label, getting airplay is difficult.
perhaps he gives away too much which is beautiful and loveable...I got practically everything he has ever done via www.noisetrade.com but as a result I am eager to buy the new album and see him live if he ever comes to my neck of the woods!

Didn't think this song could get any better but from his live version but MM is brilliant! the strings are amazing! I really hope this is the song that puts you on the map!!! Because you deserve more than to be the music industries best kept secret!
