it is like, every 4-6 months i stumble across one of your videos. And i gotta say, you are by far one of my most loved channels on youtube. Nick Weston you hero.
I have watched a lot of videos (too many) on wastelands.gaslands builds, and out of nowhere I stumble across someone that is even better at getting a realistic rust look. That tuck looks like the old rusty tools and toys we have laying around
I’ve been getting back into making models lately and have been watching many tutorials on technique and this is BY FAR the best channel on the subject I have found. Big love from New England 😂
Four hundred and seventy fourth like, plus I subscribed. Really fun to spend a visit with you and I look forward to more. I really appreciate how unconventional your thinking was for this model, also, that you came to the end of appreciating the the model as it was designed and used it as a jumping off point into a superior one of a kind truck. Loved watching this.
Interesting, enjoyable and educational. I'm fairly new to the post-apocalyptic model scene, but this will be a great reference video for me to come back to. All subbed up now to support you! Greetings from Switzerland - Andrew 🍁
Wow... this is some other-level stuff here. Wish I fully understood how you got such realistic weathering but I just caught onto your chan. I’ll dig more.
Hello, bravo for that nice and detailed tutorial ! I saw for the truck but i didn't get where the superb cannon come from ? I may having missed something but could you quicly comment ! Thank you Greetings from France. Regards . Laurent Deckers .
I like trucks, but you won me over with your hilarious dry sarcasm. It's great the way you destroy perfectly decent stuff, purpose fit for something else, yet come up with that appealing futuristic gritty look. Definitely could go watch Mad Max after seeing this.
Your strange style and eclectic hoge poge of stuff , makes for some cool builds. I always loved this style but I can't pull it off. My Brain wont let things just go together. It has to fit. Lol. Great work.
I think it's funny how all post apocalypse semi truck builds I see they all rust up the hoods. Semi trucks have fiberglass hoods, they don't rust! Paint fades but no rust.
I've always loved kitbashing, gotta admit you for sure have a "Mad Max" feel to this item, I could almost see this lil beastey rolling down the road giving cover fire for max in the tanker. lol. look forward to seeing some more of your content, oh subbed btw.
You know you can make a pilot hole for your drill by sticking in your X-acto knife and spinning it around right? Also you should do somethings with putty where those parts don't line up.
I really liking your videos (and commentary) but a quick question: What do you use to hold your salt on for the rust effect? I have seen people use hair spray and water but yours seems to stick well?
I love these videos. Every last one of them. What is the material you put on the trucks that looks like salt or rocks. Is it... uh... is it just salt or rocks? I kinda expect it's just salt or rocks. Even more curious now.
Yeah its salt. Sometimes it looks a bit discoloured because I try to recycle it whenever possible. The idea is you can easily wash it off when the paint dries leaving the masked areas underneath. Thanks for watching Skinster.
I'm afraid to ask... do you wash the salt with a strainer or do you have this ancient 20 year old salt coated in layers of paint? Oh god... maybe I don't want to know.
Don't know what I liked more, the great build, or the snarky commentary.
the sheer amount of creativity in this build is amazing!

Legend.

Very funny commentary and great build. Loved the high pressure tanks. Won't mention the Hannah Montana mug. Great video.

A tasteful and restrained tour de force of the miniaturist’s art. Subscribed!
How is this guy not way more popular jeez that was great and funny
A very, VERY imaginative build. Well done!

Me too😂😂
Neat!
Is there a story about that cup at 2:35???
I’m more interested in your choice of coffee mug
One of the first things I noticed as well. I had to do a double take.......

"i dont like trucks cuz they have too much shit on them"
_proceeds to add all the shit in every ingle on of his friends houses to the truck_

"Clearly you've never welded a bunch of junk together and driven it around to see what would fall off."

Commentary is great! The builds look fun.

I can see now where the wierd kid -next-door in TOY STORY got the ideas for his mutant toys ! excellent work Nick . Wales UK.
Man, such a sweet build. Love your, er, "alfresco" style... makes for a very satisfying vid. Ta bud, enjoyed. Like.

WHAT A DAY.... WHAT A WONDERFUL DAY!!!
Awesome build 🤘😎
Big rigs are awesome, slap a cow catcher on the front. Boom apocalypse truck
Love the commentary good work new sub
Cool looking vehicle. What's the white powdery stuff that you apply which seems to disappear in later shots?
Its salt. The technique is called salt chipping.
That's awesome and the rust looks so real, would look great in a zombie movie =)
Need more videos man
Could you do more post apocalyptic models?
glad I found your channel love it
Drilling safety is obviously not this guys strong point.
Shine and chrome!!! Witness me!!!!
One word... Brilliant.
Taking weathering to a whole new level....
That's where my f***n cutters went to!
I only discovered this guy very recently then this happened 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
eehhmm eehhmm. i built this truck in 1987, i made it a drag truck.and i like this truck. i built it sapphire blue with cobalt blue flames.
We want more!
Very well done! 👍🏻
You steal parts from friends and the Hannah Montana mug from your daughter?
That is some creative thinking there. Loved the mad max look of it.
I am dumbfounded as to how he avoided gluing his fingers together. I've never seen such reckless use of super glue. ;)
these videos need more views
If you don't already, you should definitely make Ork conversion in Warhammer 40k. You'd be right at home with them gits! :D
That's really cool man
Mad max! Very cool!
It's like a vehicle from Crossout
omfg! you have to give us MORE!!!
Well that was bad ass.....................................................
4:42 whoahoah! Make me piss meself everytime
A good truck for this would be a 1970 Kenworth W900
Hah, bloody hilarious, mate. Great vid.
Do you ever do commissions?
would have been cool to make The War Rig from Mad Max:Fury Road
Love your post apocalypse builds. Can't wait to see the next one. And I really like the background music. What's it called?
Its one of my own called Three Long Days. I took the vocals out for the vids. Cheers.
@@nickweston1908 anywhere i can find the full song playing in the back??

love the climax at 4.42
2:55 .... My name is Korg, and I'm made of rocks....
Nice. I so Love the result.
You deserve more attention
I really liking your videos (and commentary) but a quick question: What do you use to hold your salt on for the rust effect? I have seen people use hair spray and water but yours seems to stick well?
Actually its just water. I try not to disturb it too much while it dries . Sometimes I'll put it out in the sun to speed the process up. Cheers Paul.
Love your videos!
Where did you go
Where did u go

Once the paint dries i scrape most of the salt off and keep that. Makes me sound like a tight-ass I know...

Mudguards are the best
You are truly an artist also have you seen mad max
What's that salt stuff?
Its salt. Apply salt to the wet model, let it dry, paint over it then wash the salt off. Instant scunge.
@@nickweston1908 oh dang, thanks! Also, I appreciate the reply, happy holidays!
Cool vid, subbed.
Why didn't you add an egg? Howtobasic always adds an egg.
Hell yeah!
Brilliant
Nice!
Would be awesome for a genestealer cult
