The originally designed trophy was awarded to the BAA/NBA champions from 1949 to 1977. The trophy was kept by the winning team for one year and given to the winning team of the following year's finals, unless the previous team won again, much like the NHL's Stanley Cup

NBA's Awesome Endings comes to mind about this game.

The Phoenix Suns have made it to the NBA finals twice, both times losing in game 6 at home.

I think they were the last recipients of that trophy

Alvan Adams still IS the best Center the Suns ever had, Shaq notwithstanding.

Yeah, and the clock didn't start after Havlicek got the ball in bounds until he'd dribbled like. Starting at 1:23 of this clip. You can't convince me that wasn't done on purpose. Like the Celtics needed help to win. That's an embarrassment. The sad thing is that if you mentioned that to Celtics fans they'd say that's how they like it. They wouldn't even admit, "Yeah, that was bad. We don't want that kind of help". But if it had happened in favor of Phoenix those fans would've gone nuts.
