It's no wonder this man is known for having one of, if not the greatest backhands ever, in the sport of racquetball. This video is a great gift for studying and comparing one's own game against perfection and also for just plain viewing pleasure. Sudsy is one of the greatest gifts Racquetball has ever witnessed. I sure hope he is back to stay and bless us with his incredible shot making ability and superstar game play! Thank you for sharing!
Notice his hips rotate inwards slightly ahead of the racquet. Also the direction of his lead foot is pointed usually straight at the side wall. Does a great job to make sure to never lose sight of the ball while hitting.
Just look at how horizontal his swing is along the bottom of its arc. Notice how much he bends at the waist and keeps his upper body low and parallel to the floor. And his head low and looking down. That's a big part of why his backhand is as effective as it is. A 1000 MPH swing means nothing if you set your opponent up with a back wall shot, time after time. When I was playing a lot and teaching I used to tell my students that at the conclusion of your swing you should be staring at the floor where the ball WAS when you struck it. If you can teach yourself to do that, you'll hit killshot winners over and over. WIN the point with an effective kill shot or pass, as opposed to merely hitting it hard and prolonging a bang-bang rally. If your shot plays off the back wall for your opponent, you've likely lost the point (if you're playing an A player). I'm too old and too banged up to play now, but I sure do miss it.

I love this video, I watch it over and over. It has helped my backhand improve immensely
This is fantastic no matter how many times I watch it!
My dad played Sudsy when he was 6 years old. My dad was a grown man and an A player. He beat my dad 11-9. Sudsy was crackin balls out the womb.
Poetry in motion Suds!
Sudsy really got back in shape! Good for you Champ.
Very nice video of Sudsy. Classy.
Best video to learn the back hand swing
His backhand is sick 😮😮
nice filming Justin! Thanks so much.
All in the footwork...preparation.
Pure poetry
Thank you Justin.
@1:54 you got away with a foot fault LOL!
Good way to analise the body mechanism. Like it
Tremendous focus
Thanks for sharing! Very informative especially with the slow-mo.
If I saw my backhand filmed in slow mo, I'd probably throw up.
Awesome!! Thanks for sharing!
The BEST to ever do it!!! #HESACAT

Amazing
Pure art
Tremendous video
Awesome video.
Camacho looks completely bamboozled
Nice video!!!
His footwork is so good.
Exactly! That's what I noticed. Can't hit a ball well if not set up relative to the ball. Most people don't appreciate the footwork, my guess.
All I can say is thank you..thank you.
Nice video Justin, thanks! Curious, any new podcasts coming out?
@3:30 a smiling cliff swain perhaps?
Rad ass video!
