Thank you. Excellent video. Really helped me evaluate which sharpener to select for my Blackwing addiction. Have both the Single and Double Sharpeners already . . . . . but let's be honest . . . only a matter of time until I order the Desktop. :-) Thanks again for the excellent overview and demonstrations.

Is the desk top item made of metal or plastic?
The box and drawer are metal, as is the grinding apparatus. The handle seems to be plastic, but a nice plastic.

I will email my contact at the company to be sure, but it is not bigger than a regular pencil, it should fit.

Great video! The curve is a huge turn off as it invariably always breaks off. Im scratching my head wondering why BlackWing would think this is a good idea! I was going to purchase the desk top but after Using the one step and really disliking it ,I wont be buying it.
It’s interesting that you don’t like the curved cut. I really do love it. Weird, right? How different we all are.

If I used pencils differently, I would be interested in the høvel. I'm sure it is a quality sharpener-I just don't need it right now :-)
