    • @beautyholic5592
      @beautyholic5592 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@paullol7852 No, his only successful tests were with a prototype that wasn't the one he used for his fall, the parachute he used in the final (fatal) test failed in practically he all his prior experiments which he blamed on non-scientific factors and much worse when confronted about the inadequacies in his design he never came up with a logical defense.
      In the end, it was egotism that killed him.

    Wait a minute, there's an error here. It was 1863, not 1963 when Hunley drowned in his submarine. Also, after Hunley's death, his sub was raised up again and used during the Civil War. However, while it did achieve the first successful sinking of a ship by a submarine in history, the submarine once again sank for the last time as a result of the attack. It wouldn't be until 2000 when the sub was finally raised back up.
    Side note: I happen to be from South Carolina (where this occurred) and historic in-state events like this always fascinated me.

    Mikhail Koshkin, the designer behind famous T-34 tank was killed by his creation...
    Mikhail decided to show how great his design was, so he vowed to cross several hundreds (maybe even thousands) of kilometers of road without any other stopping except for a refuel. However, when he started his journey, he soon realized he made a mistake in his design. In his determination to make the perfect balance of characteristics that make a fine tank, he forgot one thing - heating for the crew compartment! His journey was during the winter and he decided not to interrupt it (maybe due to comrade Stalin watching the trials). In the end, his tank completed the trials wits flying colors, but he himself got pneumonia and died due to it...
