- Contact Walter Wiese about fly fishing trips or for tips on tying these patterns at ycflyfishing@gmail.com or at flyfishmontana.... He is no longer involved with Parks' Fly Shop in any way and instead operates as Yellowstone Country Fly Fishing.
Thanks Walter, always great to watch your ties they are really buggy and look like they are great fish catchers. Reminds me of steelhead flies, mini intruders.
Great pattern
I have looked for years to find hackle pliers that I like. Finally spent the long dollar on the C&F, best yet.
About hackle pliers....I glue 320 grit on the jaw face...close them as the glue sets to assure jaw alignment.
It's not a permanent fix as they apparently wear with use. However while they are Bulldog like they are a pleasure to use.....especially on tiny heckle.
Tight lines and nice tie!
Have you tried Hackle Tweezers from Tyflyz Toolz?
Where are you getting your chicabou saddles?
This is from Hareline. I have a commercial account but any dealer should at least be able to order them for you.
@@YellowstoneCountryFlyFishing is it called just chickabou?
@@rudychavira5558 Grizzly soft hackle marabou patch. Retail around $25.
Tie in by the tip then you don't need hackle pliers.
Except that the feather fibers get longer from tip to butt. So it depends on how you want the fly to look.
