Typical of Nigerians to judge an individual based on ethnic or religious backgrounds. Igbo this, Hausa that, Yoruba bla bla bla. Yoruba people are Nigerians and a recognized tribe. You cant do without them. Diya's crime here is that he lied about his acts before he was shown the video.

Are you sure there is no honor in death? It's really not how long one lives but how well one lives. Not here to blame the general but to say there is no honor in someone giving their life for a noble cause is untrue. The reality is we should strive not to fear death. Not out of arrogance but knowing we are doing everything right according to the will of our creator. I think this is what we should teach people rather than teaching them to fear death.

If Diya was a loyal officer he would not flow along the coupist to be one ,he would have spill the bean to the now late general Abacha.

If I know for a fact I would die if I fail, there's just no way I would beg for my life. Unless of course I am innocent. How can you say someone who lied that he was not involved in a coup but was actually involved and begged abacha to save his life did the normal things by kneeling down, that's humiliation to Diya as an experienced soldier and general

Sometimes, cowardice is wrongly tagged. As for me, he saved himself and that's why he's still alive to face the panel while the 'lord' himself is no more.
According to a Yoruba adage, bravery sometimes is fleeing the battleground because you'll live to fight another one, better. Dead lions don't roar!
