Nice sequence from a fun day! Coming from a WadoRyu background and only really studying Itosu Rohai Shodan before it was very cool to be able to see the application for the rest of the Rohai family.
That takedown was remarkably effective for a little guy like myself against a larger opponent.
    Thanks again Iain!

Love that sweep with the push on the head. Very slick and easy to apply.

Sorry, you can't think that Matsumora and "Matsumura" it's the same. Kosaku Matsumora was tomari-te leader, and Sokon "Bushi" Matsumura was shuri-te leader... Isn't it?

I don't :-) That’s all explained in the text that goes with the video: “The kata is frequently mislabelled as “Matsumura Rohai”. However, it is important to understand the kata comes to us from the Tomari-te line of Kōsaku Matsumora, and not Shuri-te line of Sōkon Matsumura. It would seem that the two martial artists have become confused and this has resulted in the widespread mislabelling of the kata.” I hope that helps. All the best, Iain
