@4:06 I have a Tesla and iv driven it over 110,000 kms, in Lahore.
I honestly do not like Etron at all as its realistic range is only 225-250 kms. Banda range anxiety se hi pagal ho jaye. Irrespective of the brand, an EV "must" have a Range of 400 kms at least.
A Tesla long Range can go over 500 kms in Range comfortably.
You can go to Islamabad and back in only abt 5000-6000 rupees!!! Here is how=
1. All EVs come with a portable home charger and frankly I use it to charge my car. So charge your car fully at home (in Lahore).
2. You need to realise like gasoline cars, EVs also use more power if you drive like crazy. So just cruise at about 110km/h on the motorway.
3. Tesla long Range claims a range of 576 kms but realistically its close to 500kms. Still, if you drive it with care, you should comfortably get to Attock Petrol Pump in Blue Area (the best EV station in Pakistan in my view). The best part is Attock Pump also has a KFC branch within its station premises.
4. So, just put your car on charge, lock it and enjoy our KFC meal in peace. In about 55 minutes, your car should be fully charged and you should be done with your meal.
5. Tesla has a 70 kWh battery and it usually takes 1 unit to charge 1 kwh. So, even if your battery is completely drained, your charger shouldnt consume more than 70 units. It used to be Rs 70/unit but now its almost 90 or Rs 100/unit. So your cost should be about 6,000 to 7,000 Rupees.
6. Now you drive the car back, same like before, at 110 km/h and you should be back on a single charge.
7. An important point, Islamabad to Lahore motorway has a slight decline therefore the cars tend to do better on the way back (gasoline or electric)
8. Also, all EVs regenerate their batteries when the car decelerates. So my Tesla actually "gains" battery in the Salt Range so when I reach home, I usually have more battery as compared to what I had when I reached Islamabad.
9. Tesla has a Range of 500+ and Islamabad to Lahore in just about 380-400 kms so beech mein ek do races bhi kein ja saktein hain ;)
10. Total Distance 400x2= 800 kms approximately. A V8 averages about 5km/l which means a round trip at 800/5= 160 litres. 1 litre is for Rs.262 today so that makes it 160x262= 42,000 Rs!!! A corolla does about 10-12km/l on the motorway and if we apply the same formula, the corolla does a run trip in about 18-20,000 Rupees. A Tesla does the same trip in 5,000 to 6,000 Rupees.
Having said that, I did that only once. I like to enjoy my trip and drive a little faster. By the time I reach Bhera, my car is usually at 60%. It takes it 20 mins to charge it to 90% while I have my cardamom tea at McDonalds and costs abt 3,000 to charge.
Also, plz note EVs charge to 90% in max 30mins. The last 10% takes much longer so it is advisable not to charge it above 90% if you have an option.
I am the one that converted the mehran. Just wanted to make a correction that one charge would use 2.5 units (KWh) and the price would be according to the current rate of WAPDA. At the moment, it would cost 100 Rs. for 50 km.

how much khw battery your got in total? i have 14kwh battery in my plugin hybrid and its giving me 34miles or 70km in a single charge then engine kick in for further charge

Hybrid ki battery or ABS is a huge problem. At the end of the day koi bachat ni hti . Very poor experience of hybrid cars

If you too worry about fuel expenses then you don't drive at all or try diesel car and best hybrid with petrol and electric.

Electric cars are not a viable option in Pakistan. In United States Tesla has super chargers everywhere. Inner city and highways are filled with them.
