The biggest problem I had eating when in Iceland was the prices. The food there is _very_ expensive, so I couldn't really get the full experience. I actually went to Fjallkonan and got some fish and chips, which were kind of disappointing, to be honest. I also went to a restaurant called Salka Valka, which is downhill along the main road from Hallgrimskirkja, and got myself a dish of plokkfiskur. That was really delicious. If you are going to Iceland, definitely go with the intention of spending big on food. It is worth the experience. I tried to save a bit of money and it was just terribly depressing living off of snacks for a week lol.
What is the cost of an average 3 course meal in an average class restaurant in Iceland? I’m going next month and before we signed up we didn’t know that the food is very expensive. 😅
I didn’t have a problem you just have to research on the cheapest places to eat sure it’s still expensive but it wasn’t anything crazy just got to find the right places
What seems great about Reykjavik/Iceland is that there is actually culture and style there. Almost everywhere I’ve ever seen that is quite isolated like that is almost rural to the point of being country/simple in a way that makes it kinda boring if you are young or want to go to clubs etc. Anyway, very cool.
This video made me soooo hungry but it is actually almost 11 o' clock at night in Greece! I should be sleeping not eating! Thank you for your wonderfully delicious recommendations!

We loved Tapas. The minke is the best thing I have ever eaten! Missed the others but will hit all next time. Next year! Only two weeks back home and I already miss Iceland. Something connected for me.
So how many banks do you need to rob to afford a place like Apotek? How often do Icelandic people eat out during a month? is it like close to daily or more a festive thing when the pay check arrives or something in between? eating out while nice can get very expensive to.
As far as I experienced Icelanders don't eat out often at restaurants bc it's too expensive Also, my icelandic teacher told me it's even a thing to eat at Ikea on Christmas bc it's cheap 😅 Sure this is just what I came across and doesn't apply to everyone ☺️

Try going on a food tour around Reykjavik.. Did that in 2016, definitely worth it 👍🏼😉
Not gonna lie, the food looks delicious but the proportions aren't up to par with what I'm used. How much are you spending on a typical sitting?
I'm pretty sure those aren't entrees. You're supposed to order ~2 or 3 different dishes per person, and sharing is encouraged.
If you're used to American portions then you will be very disappointed haha

From this video, I can gather that the trifecta of Icelandic food is fish, lamb, and alcohol
It is. And such good food quality. Fresh and clean flavors.
Perhaps in Order: Alcohol, Meat & Dairy. LoL 👌🏾

Most definitely lol. I went this past summer and that’s what I gathered. The alcohol makes the amazing experience even better lol
@@insane_spooky I went in the summer as well. I'm a Christian, so I don't drink alcohol, but the lamb and hákarl were good along with appelsin
