  • I install a "carbon fiber" steering damper on my Vsett 10+ that I purchased from minimotors on aliexpress (Link below) . The brackets and damper both have some weight to them and seem to be of good quality. Got it in a little over a week with expedited shipping.

    Just got this scooter and took it out one time noticed crazy speed wobble could only ride once as it’s now winter here and freezing+ snow did you get this for the same reason? I haven’t heard really of anyone else dealing with this al though I have heard of people getting a bounce in the tire at higher speeds which I didn’t notice but couldn’t really get going fast enough without the wobble was really not confident going above 45km or so which I did about 65np when I had a zero 10x.

      It is most likely the big main stem bolt that goes in from underneath the stem, its either too tight or too loose. In my opinion if you get the torque right you dont need a steering damper on the Vsett 10+. Theres a video on You Tube on greasing the stem to avoid creaking that teaches you how to loosen the main stem bolt, Sorry no link. Hope this helps your wobble issue, Ride safe!

    If those set screws on the front where the front bracket goes gives you a hard time, use liquid wrench or something. Penetrating oil.

    can you steer to the left fully without cable being pinched by that dumper?

    • @escoot_nyc1651
      @escoot_nyc1651  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can steer almost all the way left and right. No cables get pinched when you set up the damper correctly, there is a bump stop built in. It does restrict the turns a little more than without it which only really affects you when trying to make a u turn in a really tight spot you have to keep going back and forth. On a regular turn you actually turn mostly by leaning so no restrictions there. Ride safe

  • @Mike_Malloy
    @Mike_Malloy 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Is the purpose of this so you don't turn the wheel too fast at high speeds?

    • @escoot_nyc1651
      @escoot_nyc1651  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's to avoid speed wobbles when riding fast ( which the vsett10 really doesn't have a problem with) Also to avoid wobbles when hitting a pothole at a high rate of speed. Ride safe

      No I have around 400 miles on mine no problems with the controller. I have heard of some going bad online. Looks pretty easy to change, just open the deck unplug everything off old controller and plug new one in. I think the hardest part is packing everything back up in the deck. I've attached a link from the macury store which makes Vsett. It shows where everything plugs in.

    Steering damper is a completely useless thing and investment! Just tighten the main screw in the middle of the handlebars and tune the rigidity of the handlebar rotation to your liking. Access to the screw is from below, so you don't have to disassemble anything!

    • @escoot_nyc1651
      @escoot_nyc1651  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are some what right atleast for the vsett10 you really dont need a damper. I did torque the main stem bolt from underneath ( when I took the stem apart to grease it) I noticed too loose you get wobble, too tight same thing. I got it just right and marked the spot with a paint marker. I did take a fall afterwards going pretty fast making a turn hit a pothole.(My own fault). After that incident but truthful mostly for the looks I decided to get a steering damper. I always keep it on 3 stiffness, it goes all the way up to 16. At 3 you really dont feel the difference that much.

    • @escoot_nyc1651
      @escoot_nyc1651  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rbmanb Yes it is the big one underneath the stem, I believe it is a 10mm allen key. First you have to loosen 2 little screws on each side of the stem that prevents the main bolt from moving. Don't use there allen keys they are garbage.
