Love your video! Thanks for sharing. You all do such a great job rep’ing the cruising community. Brittany has been phenomenal with sharing the BVI-wide impact of the storm and sharing the up close and personal side of this devastating hurricane season. Combined, your channels are driving a return to normal goal (commerce and cruising) that likely would otherwise be lagging months behind. Thanks for all of your efforts and thanks for sharing your personal stories for us wannabes that just can’t toss the lines at this time.
Great to meet you guys and all at the Saturday seminar & down on the docks. Great info that put a nail in it to get my better ½ even more excited about our upcoming cruising. Keep the laughs and great vids coming. All the best for the next leg of the journey.
Hey Terysa & Nick, great episode. Excited to see what comes out of your boat shopping there! Hey thanks for sharing the link to the #BVISTRONG products here on your channel. Remember the Adventure is one of our side projects and Jen is super stoked to see a design she created being worn by so many for such a near and dear cause. The day this video came out we saw sales bump back up - Thank you! We've enjoyed watching your channel and look forward to meeting you out there one day!
good to see the Ruby Rose's back ! Like Nck - a boat show is my favourite thing to do....and on another subject - getting petrol is a chore with paying before you buy !
Super awesome video! I love seeing you "in" the states! Found the right side of the road and everything! Yeah,,, the prepay thing is to stop drive offs. If you encounter that, you may not be in the best area. Those are rare here in Minnesota, but debit card is the way to go. I died laughing at Nick singing! Actually,,, I think he may have a future in Bluegrass! It was so nice to meet you at the meet & greet. I wish we could have talked more, but we didn't want to be the weird fans you didn't know so we tried to give you your space. Jason befriended us and roped us in to conversation with Will, Tasha, Brittany and some others, so it worked out. In the end we were able to mingle as we'd hoped to. Missed you at the after party though! Many were sad you didn't make it, but we all knew you had a long drive ahead. Great video! Nice to meet you. ~ Josh & Jill
No need whatsoever for advertisement on Amel's part. They have the best product on the market and everyone knows it. Look at the extensive refits needed by Jeanneau sailboats built in the 80s and 90s as an example. The way they wired boats and set up the rigging is an example of companies just throwing stuff together without a logical format. Amel was already way ahead then and that translates directly to the now.
We were at the boat show and had to drive over 8 hours along the same route (I-95). I noticed you saw Pedro South of the Border. At least 30 miles of South of the Border road signs....
There were so many you-tubers there, I met the crew from 'sailing off duty' and Ben and Tamby and Molly from 'a sailboat story'. It would be great if next year we could all meet at one place! Like the rum bar on Saturday. ??
Really sad to see the situation in PR, BVI and Windward Islands. As a resident of the Dominican Republic 🇩🇴 I can attest that this year's storm season has been of Biblical proportions. Nice to see the sailing community rallying together. I hope more ppl of weight in mass media/business continue to head relief efforts and fundraising. Richard Branson and other yachting billionaires must step forward, since it is clear that governments alone cannot cope with the tremndous relief, relocation and reconstruction efforts ahead.
Some one is tired , being on the road makes you fatigued and then you don't think through the problem . The clerk set the pump for $20 so you can't go over but you can get your change and the clerk knows exactly what it is ! Aw you must be tuckered out not to think of that ! You will sleep good tonight I bet !
Great video, and it was awesome to finally meet you guys at the show. After looking at some of the boats, has your list changed? If you were signing the check tomorrow, which would you choose?
Hey guys great video as always, question for you, did you guys get a chance to look at a Dufour 63, if so thoughts on the boat and Your thoughts in general on Dufour as a yacht builder.
It is a pretty nutso system with the petrol, but you just have to make two trips into the store. One to pay (too much) and the other to get your change.
I was originally bummed I didn't get down to the boat show. Now knowing you guys were there, I am even more bummed...maybe next year you guys will make a return? Sorry to hear about chase the story.
In the US when paying by cash the money you give them is like a deposit. Fill up and any amount left just go in and get your change. Some States only let an employee pump gas.
If you go back into the gas station after you paid $20 and only filled up to $15 they will refund the difference. A pain, but better than giving them the $5.
They are suppose to ask you for ID inside, at the pump they think only the owner of the card would know the zip code which is really funny if you think about it because if the stole the card they probably stole your wallet and know your zip code...
Not to rub salt in the wound, but you could have stopped at any rental station of the same company and added your name to the contract. I did essentially the same once when I didn't understand "bring it back here at the end of the month" really meant to stop in at any Hertz station anywhere at the end of the month. Yes, I did drive 400 miles out of my way to have my contract renewed.
If you run across a petrol station requiring you to pre-pay, most will let you leave your credit card (or drivers license) with the cashier so you can fill up and then go back in and pay for what you used.
lol Nick... "Is some nice American going to let me out or are you going to honk your horn and give me all sorts of fingering?" The first time I visited the UK, in a pub in Cambridge, I nearly asked for two pints from the barkeep with two fingers up. My English coworker gently turned my hand palm forward and then explained the V sign to me :)
Sailing Yacht Ruby Rose, Same here.. in all the years i've been travelling to the states my card has never worked at the pump at gas stations weather i've been in Washington state, Oregon, Ohio, Illinois, Missouri, Navada, Texas. Mississippi.. i could go & on, and its wierd because it's fine using it at walmart or costco etc etc even at drive thru banks. Everytime i've over paid though i've just explained i have a UK card & it doesnt work at the pump & they've just said "ok sir thats no problem i can refund the difference have a good day sir!"
Nice video...yada..yada....Tyresa, please don't put your feet up on the dash or windows. While comfortable even the most minor of accidents that might trigger the Air Bags will chop your feet off. The Air Bags will shove your legs upward and where the window and roof meet will act like a knife/guillotine. P.S. will you be telling us your favorite boat at the show ?
Unless you rented the car from a hole in the wall, you can stop in to another location and add the extra driver. Chill guys, just chill. You are in the wilderness in a foreign country. Slow down and let it happen.
Actually when you prepay cash you walk back in and get the change. When you prepay with a credit card, it only charges what you use, the per heck is the amount you tell them. That way they dont freeze up $75 when you only need $20. In a nutshell explanation. I hated it too, until i knew why
NIckster. You pay the initial estimated amount first. THEN, you go back in and settle up the amount due. But cest la vie... You didn't stop at South of the Border? Pedro will be unhappy. Maybe on the way back?? Terysa, "vacation" did you well. You look even younger than you used to. Very nice. You must share your secret. Oh, wait, maybe it''s just being away from Nicky???? Glad you're back all safe and sound (and jeez, up to date). Will be in and around Charleston for the next few days. That pint or Scotch is sounding really really good, no?
Just watched this episode and thought the same! Why not go in and get your change?? Plenty of people pay with cash and go back in to get their change. LOL!
All you do is go back in and get your change...lol. Do you really believe that's what Americans do. Try to guess as close a possible to the amount of fuel we need and if we pump less than our guess we just have to shrug our shoulders and walk away? Too funny.
It doesn't matter if you guess wrong. The attendant just sets the pump limit to the amount you prepaid. So if you pay 20, he sets it to 20 max and if you pump less that the limit, you go back in and the attendant gives you your change. A bit of a strange process if you've never done it.
that's the fun of traveling - you get to learn how other people do simple things differently from back home (and make a few mistakes along the way). Happy travels!
Ryan was caught throwing some pepperoni to some natives in the Cook Islands. Tasha retaliated by riding the wild winkie with a young lad from an unnamed Island in Papua new guinea. After some legal settlement, Tasha retains the name Cheeky Monkey while Ryan picks up the first name of his new boat after some months alone . . Spank the ????. New blog name "End of story".
adamttreat123 They divorced. It’s on Tasha’s Facebook page and of course she has been very mature and classy. Ignore the other comments. She took some time off and in her post said she needed time and still does. She plans on editing the rest of the footage she has and releasing it but it is very emotional going through the footage to edit. She is sailing (racing) right now with friends in Antigua and looking to purchase a small monohull to continue sailing alone. I believe Ryan is somewhere like Australia.
Ever since Terysa wore the Ocean Babe t-shirt I've been smitten. The shorter hair is also a winner. Consign the hotness!! PS. I'm glad someone else commented on the obvious!!
This may hurt to hear after the fact, but you both could have driven the car. Assuming you two are married, as long as you both have a valid driver's license, the ability to drive the car extends to your spouce. 😬
Face. Palm...Sorry about that. Really love the videos, though!! We were at the show as well, but missed you guys. The informative ones have been great as the wife and plan our own 'seabatical'. Looking forward to this next season!
Cultural idiosyncrasies.... well at least you drove on the right side of the road. 😀. I have to say I am shocked someone at the show didn’t give you tickets. Every broker and manufacturer should have begged you to take their tickets. WTF?
Can't believe how outdated US tank stations are . All tank stations here in Denmark use credit card machines at the pump , so no need to even go in to the shop unless you want something to eat etc. I know in France many years ago near the ferry you'd pay in advance , because Brits would fill up then drive off straight to the ferry to England lol
You need a postal code. That's what a zip code is, just a postal code, and someone at your bank can tell you what code to enter while in the US. If your bank has a presence here, make them work.
Sailing Yacht Ruby Rose actually, most pumps allow debit transactions from the pump only requiting a pin code, much like at an atm, in addition to the zip code/ credit option. Regardless, you could've received a refund or applies it to some of that awesome gas station food......roller weiner anyone? Lol!
The Amel & Discovery/Southerly's were at the top of my list for this show .... but, the Hylas yachts blew me away! They were exquisite!

Great road trip montage! Great work guys!
Hey y'all great to see ya , we are also subscribers of chase the story. Great to see everyone. Safe travels.
You gave me flashbacks I just made that drive up 95 A couple of weeks ago to bring my boat down the icw from Maryland to NC
Amel has got to be loving all this almost free TH-cam time.
No need whatsoever for advertisement on Amel's part. They have the best product on the market and everyone knows it. They did make a very good deal.
Just wait and you'll see.
I always add a like after I crack up at something hilarious. Never takes long.
I'm bummed I didn't get to see you at the show. I would have loved to meet you. Keep up the good work, I love your channel.
That Hylass was spectacular, we saw it at the Newport show. The owners were great too.
We were at the boat show and had to drive over 8 hours along the same route (I-95). I noticed you saw Pedro South of the Border. At least 30 miles of South of the Border road signs....

Well nick I've been in your position a few time mine normally "oh I forgot may purse" lol enjoying your channel making my way through your video's
Terysa (or Nick, but I somehow think Terysa does editing) your video editing skills are off the charts!
Thank you for posting a video; I need it so bad. Love your faces

Just found your channel. Loved the video! You guys are so funny.
Nick you just go back into the station and they will give you whatever change you are owed!
Hey guys great video as always, question for you, did you guys get a chance to look at a Dufour 63, if so thoughts on the boat and Your thoughts in general on Dufour as a yacht builder.
I have been on that I-95 drive many times. I hope you weren't too hungover for the drive back. :)
It is a pretty nutso system with the petrol, but you just have to make two trips into the store. One to pay (too much) and the other to get your change.
Welcome back kids!
awesome guys, its nice to see Tasha again :-)
cool, hope to meet you guys in Curacao one day
Nice episode well done!
Just ordered my #BVISTRONG shirt, thanks for the link.
You can ho back in and tell them it would g hold the $20 they'll give you back the change
I was originally bummed I didn't get down to the boat show. Now knowing you guys were there, I am even more bummed...maybe next year you guys will make a return? Sorry to hear about chase the story.

FYI: Fingering in the States means slightly different than flashing your middle finger.
::laughing hysterically!::
Me too!!
i spotted the crew of distant shores there as well.
Thats why you use a credit/debt card at the pump Nick so you dont have to even leave the pump area :-)
Sailing Yacht Ruby Rose, Same here.. in all the years i've been travelling to the states my card has never worked at the pump at gas stations weather i've been in Washington state, Oregon, Ohio, Illinois, Missouri, Navada, Texas. Yeah, I95 sucks pretty hard. South of the Border is pretty horrific, though!
Nice video...yada..yada....Tyresa, please don't put your feet up on the dash or windows. While comfortable even the most minor of accidents that might trigger the Air Bags will chop your feet off. Nice trick, not handing over your DL. I also try that sometimes. :-D
Unless you rented the car from a hole in the wall, you can stop in to another location and add the extra driver. Chill guys, just chill. You are in the wilderness in a foreign country. Slow down and let it happen.
I miss Tasha... I wish she would do another sailing channel.
Would love to know Nick’s opinion of the Amel 55.
Have you tried your UK post code it may accept it.
I think ill follow along behind him and pick up his change after he fuels up lol
You play Lemonhead's cover of Mrs Robinson in the car, that tune's better than the soundtrack on your video!
What happened to Chase the Story Nick why aren't they uploading videos just to know?
Cheers
Actually when you prepay cash you walk back in and get the change. When you prepay with a credit card, it only charges what you use, the per heck is the amount you tell them. That way they dont freeze up $75 when you only need $20. In a nutshell explanation. I hated it too, until i knew why
your southern singing voice is surprisingly pretty good
delos just uploaded a 360 tour of the amel 55 a day or so ago..
I like the new Amel 50 a little better. That side birth was added back in. Maybe they took the advice of the Delosians on their tour.
Well like you said on the other comment, those are only on the dream budget. 83 Mango is a more realistic thing for my budget lol.
Just walk back inside and get the change. Every gas station in US is that way...
Hi Tosh, Long time no see...
Like a kid in the candy store ;-)
Who doesn't :-)
You go back in to get your change if you didn't pump the entire $20 that's the American way ! We get our money and drive away happy not mad ! lol
You pay, you pump gas, you go get your change. How is that complicated??
Just watched this episode and thought the same! Why not go in and get your change?? Plenty of people pay with cash and go back in to get their change. LOL!
nice.
All you do is go back in and get your change...lol. Do you really believe that's what Americans do. Try to guess as close a possible to the amount of fuel we need and if we pump less than our guess we just have to shrug our shoulders and walk away? Too funny.
The less crook prone parts of the US don't require a zip code. I feel your pain though.
It doesn't matter if you guess wrong. The attendant just sets the pump limit to the amount you prepaid. So if you pay 20, he sets it to 20 max and if you pump less that the limit, you go back in and the attendant gives you your change. A bit of a strange process if you've never done it.
They refunded the amount you don't pump in your tank so no worries. Check your bill it will be correct... Probably
Wait what? Why wouldn't ya go back and git yer change?
Can you do a pre paid debit card and select it as credit when you use the pump?
Hey, ask Tasha...if someone buys a Fountaine Pajot...do they get a working ice maker? :)
You just return to the counter to pick up your change refund Or use a credit or debit card at the pump.
I'm sure you know to just go in an get your change for the gas
Sorry I should have read the other comments before I made mine . Love the channel!
You do know you can go back inside and get your change after you've pumped in the gas, don't you? :-)
that's the fun of traveling - you get to learn how other people do simple things differently from back home (and make a few mistakes along the way). Happy travels!
I lost count on how many times she said “Umm” 😮

Theresa I always thought you were taller... at least taller than Tasha.
Ha, that's how I always felt growing up in West Michigan. #dutchpeoplearetall
10:29 Those must be very tall girls either side of Teresa.
We live in a PC world now people are not short anymore they are vertically challenged.
No concept of refund? Really?
Meow!!!
Damn Terysa is so hot
Ever since Terysa wore the Ocean Babe t-shirt I've been smitten. The shorter hair is also a winner.
Consign the hotness!!
PS. I'm glad someone else commented on the obvious!!
Both are my favorite sailing couple on youtube. Nick is a riot too! Their chemistry shows.
This may hurt to hear after the fact, but you both could have driven the car. Assuming you two are married, as long as you both have a valid driver's license, the ability to drive the car extends to your spouce. 😬
Well,,, Maybe Nick needs to "step up" and correct this "not married" problem. ;-)

Wow half way through the video and all you do is talk about going to the boat show, seriously less talk more do
