For the lever logo, you could try 10cm of heat shrink tubing. usually matt black, very thin and shouldn't interfere with the lever operation. Love the channel, all the best from Madrid.
Levers are the best options from what I heard from others as well. Don't worry about the paint, out of sight out of mind, it will wear off or grow on you, no other way out, so no need to worry about it, unless you wish to customise the paint of the entire set with another colour. For pegs, I would recommend keeping the stock, those pegs were designed to be a "jack of all trades" for city rides and twisty road maneuver ability, tested over a million kilometres. Would recommend using extenders for confirming leg positions, seeing that you're quite tall for the bike.
Oh RocketMan you realy are living the dream chilling in the sunshine playing with your new bike. And now a mobile office. Fantastic from a very jealous guy.Terry from Sutton England. 👍
I am fortunate in that I have been working exclusively online for the past 25 years, so I can basically live anywhere, including in a van sometimes (watch out for a video on that coming soon). As much as I love the UK, I have always thought that homo sapiens should have stopped when they got to the south of France (approximately). I enjoy the sunshine too much and couldn't move back north :)
@@RocketMan_Moto I am interested in this too. Two important things for me now is this lowered pegs synchronizing with height of shifter/brake and change rear supsension to something not that stiff - Ohlins maybe? Maybe its just a too stiff seat and not just a stiff suspension. This will be way to go if it is possible. Otherwise too small and stiff for me :(
Just use some 1000 grit wet polishing paper to remove the logo from the lever. Most of the time the lever is anodized and the logo is painted. Paint comes off a lot easier.
Just picked up my trident 2 days ago and I must say, your videos were a big inspiration! I absolutely love it and just ordered the grip puppies and levers today as well as the Tec bar end mirrors as I’m not crazy about the stock mirrors, they look a lot like my scooter. Excited to do some more riding
Congratulations on your new bike. I must say, it's rather humbling to know that my videos have influenced your choice, but I am confident you will enjoy the Trident. I have actually sold mine now, but it was definitely one of the best bikes I have ever owned. I agree about the 'Mickey Mouse' mirrors, lol :)
Great video. Love the levers. I ended up going with some German made Pro brake lever as they came in titanium and the logo is less obvious. Works well with the grey finish and fit well. Only downside is they were £85 delivered. I recommend speedo angels for a speedo screen protector
Thanks, Simon. I did order some levers initially from Motea in Germany, but there was a problem with postage, so I cancelled. I have ordered the SpeedoAngels protector, but didn't mention it, as it's not that exciting (and almost invisible). How are you enjoying your Trident so far?
Yeah it’s a great bike. Just trying to get some miles on it so I can give it a little more. Think the only downside I’ve found is the seat seems to mark easily. The rear suspension is a little hard in uk roads, but it really does give you confidence on bends. Still waiting for the quickshifter in the UK. Seems mine’s on a 2 month back order:(
Enjoy your content and style. I want to get a Trident but a tail tidy is a must. The bike being new means that the best after market options are not yet apparent.
Quickshifter. We used one for drag racing in the late 80s. It was powered by a bottle of compressed air that had to be refreshed after a few runs down the strip. It cut the ignition for a fraction of a second and banged in the next gear from a button on the handle bar. Sometimes we didn't bother with it ( testing to give an idea etc etc)and just rolled off the throttle a bit and stamped in the next gear - we had flipped the gear lever for racing: 1up 5 down I never felt it did the gearbox any good and was only used to get the best standing quarter time. I certainly didn't use it on the bike when riding on the road (it was road legal) - what would be the point? Bike: 1980 GSX...1300ish big bore from 1100,cams etc etc - 165bhp at the back wheel - 230+kgs? ...A long time ago...My mate got the best time of 9.9odd seconds 140+mph on it. My point is that the quickshifter was very hard on the gearbox though not as bad as a clutchless change - you can often stamp gears in clutchless on full throttle on some bikes or with a quick wrist-flick roll off- depends on the bike. Why bother? We are not racing. I think its just a Fad and laziness to use a quickshifter on the road. I wonder if it is smashing up the gear cogs long term. Quote I found on the www from fitting an after market quickshifter to a Hayabusa "I would suggest starting with lengthy kill times and work down to briefer ones. If you miss gears and it slams back down under load or backtorque, it's extremely rough on the gear box. You will find chunks in your oil. I did and I think it's gear dog slivers. " [ouch]. Maybe these new slipper clutches are part of why this can be done. But - what is the point of a quickshifter? If you want to go faster buy my bike Suzuki GSXR 1000 K5 - 177bhp 185kgs wet. It was £4200. Convenience perhaps - nice to have a quickshifter? It's totally okay to have a quickshifter though - lol - do as you wish ! Oh - -I wouldn't use it mid corner - it might kick the back tire out. (gear changes mid corner -it happens - I forget not to sometimes). Logically changing ratios FAST at the back wheel will unsettle the back tire...something to be aware of and maybe try to test under controlled conditions (when you are ready for it !)...loose road surfaces, wet, heavy braking when the back wheel is light etc. ..I would test/play around with it for Up and Down shifts. - -ABS - never had it - I would test that also - do a LOAD of emergency stops -see what the front tire does. ** If someone can convince me that a quickshifter will not wreck the gearbox in 30,000miles then I suppose its ok. ** I'm 63 - you're never too old unless you let yourself go physically . I have to ride a bloody bicycle (!!!) to stay fit. Warmest regards.
Thanks again for your input. I know the quick shifter is not kind on the gearbox and I try not to use it too often (maybe 10% of all gearchanges). I should take up bicycling, I kid myself riding a motorbike is 'exercise' :)
Been several years since I've ridden, but planning on getting a Trident. Came here to see if you mentioned whether the quickshifter was an Up Only or a multi directional. Thanks, I will be getting the Quickshifter!
It's very nice (feeling & sound), but it's difficult to record the noise of a motorbike on the move, especially with the limited equipment I have, lol :)
@@RocketMan_Moto I hear ya man, I know I can listen to older variants which sound amazing... Just want to verify that it still sounds amazing! I put a wool sock around my GoPro and it cuts all the wind out!
Thanks for the video. Made me decide to only go for shift assist and leave the bluetooth module out as I anyway have my phone mounted. So factory shift assist, evotech quadlock mount & crash protection, quadlock vibration damper and usb charger it is 😀
I can highly recommend the bar end mirrors for both style and function. I'm interested in your and other peoples thoughts about a full rear wheel guard/hugger to cover that tyre, protect the shock and the under seat area. Also, a radiator guard and/or front guard extension. I think I'm lucky with the trident, the bike instantly 'fit' me. Foot pegs, levers, bar position, seating; it just fits. That said, there could be a better foot brake lever solution in my future. :-)
I feel the exact same way about accessory branding. The last thing I want is 15 different logos all over my bike.I wish aftermarket manufacturers would just give you an option to have the part without the logo. If those levers are anodized aluminum which looks like they are you could just use a mild paint stripper to take the logo off as it shouldn't affect the anodizing. Of course this is not a guarantee
I agree with your comment about the Street Triple QS, it is brutal at times, especially at lower revs, that it doesn't like at all. At higher revs and a very positive boot movement you get the wonderful continuous exhaust note indicative of the use of a QS. Like you for 'normal' riding I still use the clutch which I have to say the change is almost imperceptible. Which leaves me to believe a Quick shifter is only meant for ''giving it a bit of wellie'....The problem of vibration can be overcome using a Quadlock with anti vibration fitting on a RAM mount.... Ive used one for the last few month with no problems to my Phones Accelerometer...Greetings form España
Thanks, Brian. I agree quick shifters do need 'careful' use and I really only use them when accelerating hard for a few seconds, say coming off a roundabout on a dual carriageway. I've read a few scare stories about smartphones being ruined by handlebar vibrations, so I'd rather play it safe, especially with phones now often costing over €1000 ;)
Mainly because quickshifters on sportier higher revving bikes aren’t designed to be used at lower RPM’s, the ignition cut is too agressive for smooth shifting at low RPM’s, they simply aren’t designed for usage in that fashion.
TEC levers can be bought on Ali Express for half the price they are re branded Chinese levers. I have the TEC 2>1 exhaust and while the finish is less that stellar they are excellent, so with TEC it's choose carefully.
Yes, I'm beginning to realise that. I have seen some worrying posts online about the quality of their shock absorbers. The levers are good, but I may upgrade to some from www.probrake.de
Another great video thank you. Glad I’ve ordered the shifter and the Bluetooth module after watching this. I’ve been searching for a tail bag to no avail. I’m not a big lover of tank bags but will check out your recommendation. Great levers....shame about the naff logo.. That would annoy me too ! Waiting for your next move 😆
Thanks! I just ordered a YSS rear shock, so stay tuned for a report on that in a couple of weeks. I agree tank bags are ugly and claustrophobic; I don't like them either really, but I feel they are the least worst solution on the Trident. You might like to check out Autokicker tailbags, they're very compact. I used one on my F900XR last year :)
Those Tec levers look identical to the Chinese Pazzo knock-offs that can be bought from many far east emporia or eBay for less than £20 per pair. And they come unbranded.
Good update there, that quickshifter is great. I get where you are coming from re the pegs ie too bright... Now time would let em tarnish off thru use and wear however you "could" treat the surface somehow ie anodise it or go full ghetto with sea water, a car battery and some tea bags for colour/flavour? You have options 😊 Paint can be a pain with alloy so if you needed the black probably best to swap if you can. Have fun with it! ps Nice Van 👍
Thank you for inspiration, I ordered foot pegs also, but for me will be necessary because of my hight and long feet. Evotech have now also radiator guard in their shop and I'm thinking about it. My trident arrived to my dealer, I managed to register it, but just before pick up I ended up in quarantine for 7 days because I met someone who was later tested positive......... 🤬😡🤬
Oxford Insulevers would cover the logo, practical but probably not the look you require! If you do try them, soak in hot soapy water first to avoid splitting!
Good overview on those mods, I hope you don't mind me sharing my distrust on the utility or added value of that Bluetooth module, though I admit my bias on thinking nothing is as good as a smartphone screen with google maps/waze for navigation/directions. The Quick shifter must be really comfy, enabling less hassle going trough the gears - that one I envy. Cheers.
Thanks. I didn’t want to make this video too long, so decided not to include the installation of the levers footage. It’s really simple, however: just unscrew the existing pins, remove the old levers, slide the new ones in and tighten the pins😊👍
I predict a test of the 2022 CB500x is coming in the future. ;-) There's no place like home.. Maybe the Africa.. Looking back at only memories now, the best of them are not from going fast in the quarter mile, not racing friday night mx at Ascot, not ripping through mtn roads like an idiot, 7but just being happy on the bike. Hence the good 'ol honda '82 XR250.. That thing went everywhere.. And it was just plain fun. Didnt have the torque of the 600r, but when you start needing more power to be happy, maybe something has been lost with the experience? Don't know for sure, but my best riding memories are from simply hopping on the old quarter pounder in shorts and tennies in the desert and going for a putt. Peelouts on the big bikes were fun too, but, I wish i never let go of the smaller bike. it just had a certain perfection, that i connect the CB500x to in my mind, haven't tried one... Yet...
Logos on the levers. A piece of black tape. I'm thinking insulation tape, although I'm not sure how long that would last . Insulation tape seems to go "gungy" after a while. A google search for "black vinyl tape" seems to throw up a few possibilities. When it goes "manky" , I guess just put on a new bit of tape !
Muito bom o vídeo, aqui no Brasil também temos a “igui” de piscinas, achei bem engraçado ver essa marca em portugal também, mas adorei o vídeo, estou vendo tudo sobre a 660 pois penso em adquirir uma para mim.
You mentioned Triumph bar end mirrors. Any reason to these than tekbike as Triumps are more expensive for a similar item?….just curious as I may swap mine over but In Australia they’re $319 for the OEM versions? I’m undecided on tank bag versus a rucksack….for now Ive bought the Kriega Max28…for work mostly…but might be a strain on longer rides so then may check out tank bags like yours. Can I ask where you sourced the replacement radiator cowls from and how much?…I’d prefer black so may spray or wrap them black. I’m also not keen on the red/silver sticker on the black sapphire so hope to peel that off too. Again just aesthetics that I’d prefer. Meanwhile look forward to more of your videos ✌️
I agree the Triumph bar end mirrors are very expensive. So expensive, in fact, that I ended up cancelling my order. For the time being, I am continuing to use the factory 'Mickey Mouse' mirrors. I'm not a fan of ruck sacks personally and find the small tank bag big enough for my needs. The SW Motech model I went with is also very easy to take on & off :)
Even if you don't take a pillion I think the pillion grab handles would look well on this bike and balance the rear a little. With the radiator cowls you could always try plasti-dip of your colour choice, even remove and replace with a different colour every six months?
@@RocketMan_Moto I had heard that one of the reasons Triumph moved to electronica throttle on the trident and more recent updated bikes of theirs was so that they could I have an up and down quick shifter versus just up, and I have never realized or heard before is it having a up-and-down shifter required a electronica throttle, I guess the auto blip feature makes sense that it would require an electronica throttle to I’m sure there’s other ways to do it but I suppose if you want a truly seamless experience do you want it controlled via the throttle and that’s kind of a shame because the triumph fuel situation has always been so amazing and they’re feeling I was just flawless so I hear it’s still great But it’s a shame to have to lose anything
Good afternoon Congratulations on your video, very clear. Could you tell me which ring model for the SW Motech bag our motorcycle uses? The model is not yet found in the listing on its website. Thank you very much and greetings from the Canary Islands, Spain.
yeah, luggage options. That's a challenge for me ! I've put a rear rack from TEC on my Speed Twin. It's a good rack, but as you say, they never improve the look. I'm going to put a top box on, but one of the Givi ones that mount on their "monokey" plate. So I can remove it ! On the Trident, I assume there are some mounting points under the seat for rear luggage options ?
@@RocketMan_Moto there are 4 thread holes under my speed twin and speed triple. speed twin also has some points behind the shocks. I'm not sure where the Speed Triples other holes for rear luggage are .
Did you get the shock sorted out? You said it was stuck in position. Bluetooth headsets are really good, whether listening to music while riding or talking to the missus but I'd never take a call.
Please say how high the handlebars will be with the bar-end mirrors (presuming they are drop downs -- would the Trident then fit into the door of a mobile office with 42.9 inches of height clearance? Also, is the Trident stable with the tie-downs attached lower on the Trident as shown in the video? I appreciate your in-depth reviews. Looking forward to some scenic rides.
Thanks, John. I will measure the bike once the mirrors are on, but I will be installing them 'the right way up', rather than drop down. The bike was also secured in a front wheel chock in the van, not sure if this was visible? I will be doing another video shortly on how I combine van & bike :)
Any chance that you will get a fly screen, a small one perhaps? There are lot of bugs where I live, it would be a pain clean out bugs penetrate deep into the hardware.
Hi RocketMan, Greetings from Portugal also and thanks for your videos, very nice and objective reviews, grats. My 5 cents on your mods: -Nice levers and thk god you didn't go for short ones; -Understand the horn issue but...it's ugly as 🤬; -Footpegs are to me like the horn...stick with originals; - Also got SW-Motech tankbag, great quality, design on yours suits perfectly the bike, and tank ring is hardly noticeable when bag is removed; - Please don't mess with that bike "gorgeous but"...stay away from tail tides 🤪. Take care and keep posting m8!
Thanks, Daniel. I accept the horn is ugly, but it's great for scaring dogs and old ladies :) I agree the tail tidy route is a dangerous one, I'm waiting for more options/photos before I decide. Boas curvas :)
Good morning Mr. Rocket A bit of advice if you don’t mind. I’m modifying my 660 (same colour as yours) and I’ve found a screen manufacturer, who have a sports screen available although still in production it seems (but I’ve ordered one) and I’d like hard luggage so I can tour without someone nicking my bag while I’m sipping a coffee. Do you know if there’s any hard luggage available for the Trident yet? Re aftermarket pegs. Return them and get the black, it does matter, it’s visually unsightly and your eyes will be drawn to them every time you approach the bike Stay safe Oh forgot. Get the grab handles fitted, easier to manoeuvre the bike, get it onto the paddock stand single handedly and i think it looks fantastic
Mr. Rocket Aftermarket luggage for your Trident. Givi are also in the development stage but are playing there cards close to their chest shop@hepco-becker.de Just in case you want a gel seat infocmseats@gmail.com And lastly “Access design” for a really nice radiator grill cover c/w Triumph logo
I just got the tec levers installed on my Trident and they feel great! However, riding to work this morning it was a real challenge to get into neutral (for arm stretch at traffic lights). Did you experience this as well? I am thinking it is related to the tec levers, but I am not sure.
Hi RocketMan, nice video like always. Effectively, the pegs aren’t with the look of the bike. For the levers I’ll use black electrical retractable sleeves, that I’ll improve grip and catches the “Tec” logo. There’s my suggestions. Great V
Thanks for the great video. I ordered the SW-Motech tank bag too. Do you still know the exact article number of the SW-Motech Pro tank ring? If not, what street triple do you have exactly? Thanks in advance.
If you add up extra stuff you bought or will add, the sum for the bike gets higher. Would you find a better option then? Like Ducati Monster? I'm just curious. Also, the footpegs are alright at least on the youtube video. I'd make them black to blend with the rest but it's out of debate here. Thanks for the video.
Thanks! I agree that, with options, the Trident's price can quickly rise, but there's nothing else that really appeals to me, other than maybe the new Speed Triple, but that is twice the price of the Trident :(
@Rocketman you could try black shrink tubing and an warm it with hot air gun on the clutch and break levers it comes in many different qualities i think that a quick shifter newer gonna beat a good 6 speed automatic DCT gearbox on a Motorcycle 💪
Really informative vid as usual Rocketman 👍 So the tec lever install is relatively straight forward? I don’t suppose you have a link to the installation video you followed? Cheers!
Did you actually install your quick shifter yourself? It’s supposedly plug n play but I just installed mine albeit with no instructions (thanks Triumph) and it’s not working. I searched high and low for two hours just to find the plug behind the coolant overflow tank. Pulled out the dummy plug and plugged in the QS but no go. Very frustrating. Even dealers can’t get the instructions. I do have a nice shiny shift linkage though. 🙄
I believe it needs some sort of tweaking to the electronics, too, which is why I let my dealer fit it. It took them about an hour, if I remember correctly, so it's a bit more involved than P&P :)
I found the instructions online under a different part number for the same Trident part. It DOES indeed need “turned on” by the Triumph software tool. Complete BS Triumph!
Hello! How did you do to remove the yellow reflector from the front suspension ? Another question, do you have ideia on how much do we have to wait for this bike if I buy in Algarve? Thanks
Bom dia, Luis. The orange fork reflectors just pull off. They're stuck on with double-sided foam tape. For the delivery time, I suggest you send an email to Daniel at Triumph Algarve. He's very helpful. I will tell him you are interested :) daniel.henrique@triumphportugal.pt
I was pondering get the TEC pegs for my Speed Twin. I think I'm a bit shorter than you (I'm 5 foot 11 inches) , but I do some times get crampy legs . I did wonder how lowering down the peg would affect the operation of the lever. Moving the lever too, would be a bit more of an engineering challenge. The original Triumph ones on your Trident or my Speed Twin do look quite good. To be honest, and like you say about the brake levers, how much would it really cost for Triumph to put something on that's adjustable as standard ? Cars these days get adjustable steering wheels, seats that go up or down , tilt and backwards or forwards.
I sit on it yesterday and was surprise how small and stiff it is. I am 183 cm (inseam 90cm) and have quite a problem with legroom :( How you can compare with your F900XR which should be more comfortable in ergonomy and suspension too. And you are taller than me :) Trident was my #1 choice. Technologically and price wise is a no brainer in its category. Clutch and rear brake are not adjustable to foot pegs? It should be.
Once you put a bunch of mods onto the bike. you can easily ad a thousand dollars to the price tag. and it puts the bike into a totally different class of bike price wise. so when buying the bike you need to think about what bikes compare to it price wise after all the mods. where I live the bike is around $10200.00 dollars. in America money, and after you put blue tooth connectivity, and the quick shifter and different mirrors and maybe a couple of other things the bike is real quickly up to $11.000. dollars or more.
My dealer told me that the plastic tank cover is changeable and that it will be available for around $300 USD. Have you heard anything about that? My dealer only has the Bike available in White and Black and I prefer the Silver you have...
I'm sure the tank cover can be changed, but I think in many EU countries the bike is officially registered with its original factory cover, so you may have problems if the police stop you with another colour?? I don't know...
So... Just found out the Gopro Hero 9 won't pair with the Trident..... Bit annoying as this is the latest version. The Hero 7 Black is supposed to work... Hopefully Triumph will bring out an update.
Anyone.....? Possible to install a bidirectional quickshifter (triumph only) on a Street Triple 2017 (i only have one way installed) Thanks in advance !
@@RocketMan_Moto I know it seems a bit cheap sounding but it’s so easy to takeoff or change etc. that it’s really almost always worth trying. I have a wallet that’s a nice leather wallet with a shown on logo what’s the brand I’m not particularly keen on being associated girl and it’s quite small and on the edge of the lip of the wall it right on the outside of the fold so I took a little piece of electrical tape And applied it right over it and it’s been there for years now and you really can’t see it unless you’re looking for it right up close in fact I’ve been kind of shocked at just hell invisible the line between the leather and the tape is because it’s kind of blend it in. I had a similar situation with a piece of black brushed metal and because of the brushed nature the line from the tape is completely Imperceptible because there’s lines all over it because of the brushed satin appearance of The metals finish
Thanks, Ian. That's how I feel about them, tbh. I may put them on and give them a proper test one day, but for the moment, I'll stick with the factory pegs :)
@@RocketMan_Moto that’s certainly better than nothing. I suppose a backpack would also be a bit tough to design without having the straps flailing all over, though there’s certainly a few ways around that too
I was wondering if you could give me/us some additional info on the clear tank protector that you applied. IIRC, you said it was made by 3M. How big is it? Did you need to apply heat to form around the curves of the tank? Thanks again for your videos on the Trident! I hope to get mine in a few weeks here in the US!
I bought a roll of 3M Scotchgard a few years ago, so just cut out a 'tank pad shape' piece approx. 20 x 12cm, rounded off the corners and stuck it on. As it's quite small, there weren't many contours to cover and it went on quite easily.
Cheap levers? Some cheap Chinese ones have failed. If your brake lever fails, it can mean death. I know nothing about TEC levers. The best foot pegs I have ever had my feet on are the OE ones on my old Buell Ulysses. I would like to know more about your mobile office. I am a van man!
I agree about cheap levers, but TEC UK have a good reputation, so I'm not too worried about them breaking. Stay tuned for a video on my other hobby: van life :)
For the lever logo, you could try 10cm of heat shrink tubing. usually matt black, very thin and shouldn't interfere with the lever operation.
Love the channel, all the best from Madrid.
Ah, heat shrink, I hadn't thought of that. Thanks for the tip :)
I'm partial to a leather stitched cover. On my Indian Scout, I have the streamers hanging out in the wind, probably not appropriate for the Trident.
You are not picky, you are looking for suitable things as per your comfort. Thanks for the video.. 👍🏼
Thank you :)

We used one for drag racing in the late 80s. It was powered by a bottle of compressed air that had to be refreshed after a few runs down the strip.

Quote I found on the www from fitting an after market quickshifter to a Hayabusa
"I would suggest starting with lengthy kill times and work down to briefer ones.
Oh
- -I wouldn't use it mid corner - it might kick the back tire out.
I'm 63 - you're never too old unless you let yourself go physically .
Orders mine today.arriving........September!
Wow, 4 moths wait now?! But it's worth it - a great bike :)
I ordered mine in December and they’re saying still another month!
Looking forward to hearing the quick shifter!
Good tip👍
Thanks for the video. Made me decide to only go for shift assist and leave the bluetooth module out as I anyway have my phone mounted. So factory shift assist, evotech quadlock mount & crash protection, quadlock vibration damper and usb charger it is 😀
Great choice. The shifter is fabulous😀
Good to hear the 'Rocket' mirrors work well. I agree about the rear brake lever.
I think I'll ask TEC if they have any way of removing the logo, probably safer, lol :)
T cut or a similar cutting compound should remove the logo but leave the anodising intact.
Love ur videos dude! Keep em coming
Thanks, I will try to :)
30% I tune in to see the Algarve, not such a triumph fan but this scenery 👌😀
Yes, it's a beautiful area :)
@@RocketMan_Moto Thanks mate. Ordered levers. Totally agree
Remember when fitting Tec clutch lever. If you reduce the lever span , the clutch will drag. Cable pull needs to disengage clutch.
Quite right - I am aware of the issue, but I should have pointed it out in the video. Thanks :)
Just got Trident speedo screen savers by Spedoangles. Came with 2 covers and the wipes etc. Look good fitted.
Yes, I have fitted one, too :)
Those Tec levers look identical to the Chinese Pazzo knock-offs that can be bought from many far east emporia or eBay for less than £20 per pair. And they come unbranded.
I Googled them and you're right; they do look very similar!
Thanks! I may well do a video about my bike/van life at a later date. I will probably swap the pegs for the black version.
Thanks for the update, very useful
Thank you, Paul :)
I am thinking of ordering the radiator guard, too. Pity about the delayed delivery of your bike, but I'm sure you'll enjoy it when it does arrive :)
Oxford Insulevers would cover the logo, practical but probably not the look you require! If you do try them, soak in hot soapy water first to avoid splitting!
Thanks, I'll take a look :)
Regarding the lever logo. Perhaps a custom black satin vinyl sticker?
👍😊
You have to get a tail tidy RM - I'm counting on you!
I'll see what Evotech comes up with and then decide :)
Cheers.
No problem. I agree the QS is fantastic, but the BT module is perhaps not so necessary :)
Hi, Thanks for making these videos.. do you mind sharing the park codes and or link for the silver radiator cowls?
Triumph does not give out paint codes. I just ordered 2 new silver rad cowls
Great video as always. could you post a video of installing the brake levers?
Thanks. I didn’t want to make this video too long, so decided not to include the installation of the levers footage. It’s really simple, however: just unscrew the existing pins, remove the old levers, slide the new ones in and tighten the pins😊👍
@@RocketMan_Moto thanks
Yet...
You're right, I could fall for another CB500X one day, but probably not at the moment. I genuinely like the Trident :)
@@RocketMan_Moto - Yes, either way, we appreciate your well thought out and fair-minded reasoning.. Lots to think about. Thank You!
I thought of tape, but as you say, it tends to go gungy quite quickly.
Muito bom o vídeo, aqui no Brasil também temos a “igui” de piscinas, achei bem engraçado ver essa marca em portugal também, mas adorei o vídeo, estou vendo tudo sobre a 660 pois penso em adquirir uma para mim.
Very nice bike. You won’t be disappointed😊
Thanks for the update.
You're welcome, Jason :)
Even if you don't take a pillion I think the pillion grab handles would look well on this bike and balance the rear a little. With the radiator cowls you could always try plasti-dip of your colour choice, even remove and replace with a different colour every six months?
I have seen the grab handles in photos and they stick out A LOT. Not my cup of tea, tbh. Good call on the plasti-dip!
Another excellent video! Well after much consideration I'm trading in my BMW F750 that's been a total letdown and ordering a trident tomorrow!
Thanks, Fraser. What kind of waiting time are they quoting you? I've heard up to 5-6 months in the UK now!
@@RocketMan_Moto 4 to 6 weeks for Sapphire black
Not too bad👍
Do you know if you can put an aftermarket up and down quick shifter on the older triumphs that only came with a up quick shifter ?
Good question, but I don't have the answer, sorry. I would suspect it's very difficult.
Good afternoon
Congratulations on your video, very clear. Could you tell me which ring model for the SW Motech bag our motorcycle uses? The model is not yet found in the listing on its website.
Thank you very much and greetings from the Canary Islands, Spain.
Thanks :) You can use the tank ring for the Street Triple.
@@RocketMan_Moto la de 765 cm or 675?
yeah, luggage options.
I haven't noticed and mounting points, but I haven't really looked, either.
@@RocketMan_Moto there are 4 thread holes under my speed twin and speed triple.
speed twin also has some points behind the shocks. I'm not sure where the Speed Triples other holes for rear luggage are
.
Did you get the shock sorted out? You said it was stuck in position. Bluetooth headsets are really good, whether listening to music while riding or talking to the missus but I'd never take a call.
I will be fitting the headset in a few days and will report back. The suspension was actually already in its softest setting!
Possibly, but I don’t care much for the Triumph fly screen🧐
Hi RocketMan,
Greetings from Portugal also and thanks for your videos, very nice and objective reviews, grats.
My 5 cents on your mods:
-Nice levers and thk god you didn't go for short ones;
-Understand the horn issue but...it's ugly as 🤬;
-Footpegs are to me like the horn...stick with originals;
- Also got SW-Motech tankbag, great quality, design on yours suits perfectly the bike, and tank ring is hardly noticeable when bag is removed;
- Please don't mess with that bike "gorgeous but"...stay away from tail tides 🤪.
Take care and keep posting m8!
Thanks, Daniel. I accept the horn is ugly, but it's great for scaring dogs and old ladies :) I agree the tail tidy route is a dangerous one, I'm waiting for more options/photos before I decide. Boas curvas :)
Couldn't find the adjustable levers on Tec site. Do you have model #?
Thanks
They've taken them down temporarily. Apparently, there were some quality issues on some batches.
Good morning Mr. Rocket
A bit of advice if you don’t mind.
Return them and get the black, it does matter, it’s visually unsightly and your eyes will be drawn to them every time you approach the bike
Stay safe
Oh forgot. Get the grab handles fitted, easier to manoeuvre the bike, get it onto the paddock stand single handedly and i think it looks fantastic
Wish I could send a pic of mine but I’m an IT dinosaur and not sure how or if that’s possible
Thanks for the tips. Can you give me a link to the screen manufacturer, please?

I just got the tec levers installed on my Trident and they feel great! However, riding to work this morning it was a real challenge to get into neutral (for arm stretch at traffic lights). Did you experience this as well? I am thinking it is related to the tec levers, but I am not sure.
Could well be, Marty. If the lever is adjusted too much, you may not be disengaging the clutch properly when you pull it. I leave mine on 3😊
Hi RocketMan, nice video like always. Effectively, the pegs aren’t with the look of the bike. For the levers I’ll use black electrical retractable sleeves, that I’ll improve grip and catches the “Tec” logo. There’s my suggestions. Great V
Thanks, Dr. Good idea on the heat shrink tubes!
Thanks for the great video.
I ordered the SW-Motech tank bag too.
Do you still know the exact article number of the SW-Motech Pro tank ring? If not, what street triple do you have exactly?
Thanks in advance.
I ordered the tank ring for the 2017 Street Triple RS that I used to own👍
@@RocketMan_Moto I have already received the tank ring and it fits. Thank you very much! 👍
As regards the pegs, I think they will lose their shine over time, it will match the rest of the bike. A d there is always the option of painting them
Good point. I will probably put them back on at some stage and try and wear away the shine with my boots, lol :)
Thanks! I agree that, with options, the Trident's price can quickly rise, but there's nothing else that really appeals to me, other than maybe the new Speed Triple, but that is twice the price of the Trident :(
Shift assist is a fantastic idea, does it also work for down shifts like an auto-blipper?
Yes :)
@Rocketman you could try black shrink tubing and an warm it with hot air gun on the clutch and break levers it comes in many different qualities
i think that a quick shifter newer gonna beat a good 6 speed automatic DCT gearbox on a Motorcycle 💪
Good idea with the heat shrink tubing, thanks :)
Which tank ring do you exactly used on the trident. I got the info from sw-motech that no existing tank ring fits perfectly. Thx for your information
It's the ring from my 2017 Sreet Triple RS. Fits the Trident perfectly.
Really informative vid as usual Rocketman 👍
So the tec lever install is relatively straight forward? I don’t suppose you have a link to the installation video you followed?
Cheers!
Honestly, you don't need a video: just unscrew the pin from the existing levers, slide in the new ones and put the pin back :)
That’s all the mods done, time to sell now !
Haha, especially as I'm due to test the new Speed Triple in a couple of weeks. Don't tell the wife :)
@@RocketMan_Moto when we get all this plague over us I’ll take a run over for a coffee and see a new bike 🤣🤣🤣
Did you have any trouble removing the stock clutch lever? The nut under the lever doesn't seem to come off on mine.
I didn't really have a problem, although I remember that nut was a bit awkward to access.
I will tell him you are interested :)

Agreed.
Another good video
Thank you, Lyn :)
I agree the F900XR has more room for taller riders, but overall I still prefer the Trident - great choice in its category, as you say :)
hi, is it possible to install a Quickshifter on this bike by yourself? Just plug in the cables or something else?
I couldn't tell you. I sold my Trident 18 months ago :)
Physically yes but needs coding at the dealer to activate
SW-Motech ion foot pegs offer a wider platform for your feet.
Thanks. I'll check them out :)
AustinRacing exhaust. I think I'm going to get my motorbike license now.
Do it!😊
Can you provide part number for the tank bag mount? Greatly appreciate the video!
It's the same mount I had on my 2017 Street Triple RS :)
I think it's TRT.00.787.16100/B, i tried TRT.00.787.16000 and couple holes don't match well.
Quite true, you do have to factor in the accessories, but I'd probably put the same stuff on any bike, to be fair :)
Put some heat shrink tubing over those levers to cover up the logo.
That has been suggested, I’m looking into it😊👍
It would be nice to replace the subframe with a flatter one and have a flatter seat to make it look like a retro.
I quite like the way the rear sticks up :)
I always use a rucksack on my 4 bikes apart from a top box on my Honda scooter
I have a rucksack, but hardly ever use it - restricts movement too much :)
Can u modify this for off road and adapt luggage?
Everything is possible, but the Trident isn’t an ideal base bike for off-road duties. The Yamaha T7 would be better.
@@RocketMan_Moto I'm in the US and I changed the color of my last bike with no issues...

@@RocketMan_Moto hello! Did the nail polish remover work?
Put a bit of electric tape over the logo.
I have thought of that.

I bought a roll of 3M Scotchgard a few years ago, so just cut out a 'tank pad shape' piece approx. 20 x 12cm, rounded off the corners and stuck it on. As it's quite small, there weren't many contours to cover and it went on quite easily.

Thanks. The cowls are on order from the dealer. They're from the black Trident. Cost approx. €75, if I remember correctly :)
Return the pegs for black ones
Probably will :)
The quickshifter on my Tracer900 feels like you are whacking it with a hammer at times...so not as imperceptible as the Trident it would seem. 😭😂
Yes, I remember it being a bit agricultural when I tried the Tracer a year or so ago. Maybe they've got it right with the new Tracer 9?
@@RocketMan_Moto Yes perhaps. It's a 2017 model I have so hopefully they've updated it.

Thank you :)
I find the TEC bike parts a little low quality. Much prefer the official Triumph parts.
I was impressed by the levers, less so by the pegs :)
@@RocketMan_Moto I will, indeed.
