Thanks for sharing so openly! I think we graduated around the same time just looking at the date this was published. I went to Palmer Davenport and felt exactly the opposite. I wanted to drop out because we were too philosophical and not weighted heavily enough with a scientific approach.
It's interesting that we came from different sides of the isle and were both unhappy with the program. I guess that's why it's so difficult to become a professional in such a decoded field.
I'm sure this video is helping students even today! We all had our moments. It's tough in chiro school.

Interesting that you have experienced the same things I did going through chiropractic college. I graduated from Palmer 40 years ago. It is amazing that Life is still clinging to the old historic chiropractic philosophical approach. It is important to know where the profession came from but it really just doesn’t enter in today’s practice model.

we share similar views. this is why im leaving ER nursing (6 years experience) and have applied to chiropractic school. God willing I start in September. the medical model views the body as compartmentalized and suppresses symptoms with drugs/surgery, while the root cause remains. in the mean time, the patient gets sicker, more in debt to the medical system, the family suffers and nobody wins except for hospital administrators. Sure nursing is stable job, nice pay, great coworkers, but it does not align with my purpose whatsoever. and it is time for a change! thank you for taking part in inspiring the change.

Amanda, the suppression of symptoms with drugs/surgery is exactly why I left being a medic and enrolled in Chiro school.

Love your Transparency and the journey of not only self-discovery but also how to evolve into the best person, doctor, healer that you can become. A couple of insights from 10+ years in practice that may help you out: 1. ENERGY- YES! It is All about energy and allowing the energy from above, down, inside, out to flow and Heal! The fastest, most accurate way to help others with this: The perfect, specific chiropractic adjustment! 2. Boards and 'medical school classes': Get through them! We live/work in a medical environment and need to know the terminology to not only know how to communicate with our medical counterparts but also to help analyze and use that information on our behalf to help facilitate healing. I know ( oh too well) the feeling of saying, "why do I need to learn all of this stuff? The answer, just do it. You never know what you may learn that will help save a life. Lastly: You should MOST DEFINITELY have days/times like this in your schooling/training. School is as much an evolution of 'self and spirit' as it is about getting a degree or learning some fancy medical terminology. Celebrate the wins, learn from the losses, but keep moving ahead! Hope that helps! Keep your chin up !

As a 3rd year chiro student I can totally relate... What helps me a lot is knowing in order to call yourself a Doctor, there is a baseline of knowledge required for the status and boards. The amount we learn compared to what we’ll actually use in practice are so different! You are exactly where you need to be. Keep your head up, you got this!! 💜💪🏻

Its great seeing you overcome challenges that are making you a stronger person, that takes awareness. The thing about Life University is that it is a leader in changing the way health is viewed and approached. This takes a lot of responsibility and courage for what the school is facing. They have had many challenges with holding accreditation, that speaks a lot to me about an organization. There are other universities one can go to for energy and healing but they do not have accreditation. People, organizations, companies are quick to comply when they are pressed and hung on strings. When you are done with school, you make a change in the world. Dr. Joe Dispenza is a fantastic example of this. (Life graduate)

Yes 100% Rome was not built overnight. I am grateful for Life University and all that they do and continue to do for Chiropractic and healthcare. It definitely has not been an easy road.

First, nowhere in the writings of D.D. Palmer, B.J. Palmer or the seminal work "Chiropractic Textbook" by the late Dr. R.W. Stephenson who wrote the famous "33 Principles", does it say "we are all energy" or "everything is energy". It says we are a triunity of 3 united forces: "Intelligence, Force and Matter". But if you go to Life U ,you get what you pay for.

School is filled with 99% of classes that are pointless. Always has been. “School” is nothing but extreme anxiety and stress for me. It helped me realize that I just want to live my life, do something I enjoy, and live simply.

Thank you for sharing this! I'm going into chiropractic next year and totally bracing myself for a similar experience... I'm still frothing to go though because of the incredible practicing chiropractors I know who embody everything you spoke about. Just gotta get out the other side of the school system!

Currently watching this video at 9 pm before going to bed. This video helped me so much, Thank you for being so so open and sharing your struggles🥺 I understand those breakdowns completely even though I’m still in undergrad. I loose my mind at times but have to remember all these hard things are gonna get me to the end point which is to be a chiropractor 💕 I’m so proud of you! Keep going!💜

I normally am not one to comment on other videos, but this was absolutely amazing. I am finishing up my undergrad currently and heading to SCU Chiropractic Program this May. In searching for videos with Chiropractic students, I have come across many great videos and students, but this was by far the most transparent and refreshing video I have seen recently. I really appreciate the honesty in this as I have gone through similar things in school and I am sure more challenges lie ahead in Chiropractic school, but this was extremely refreshing to know that others experience these things as well, especially someone like you who I look up to in so many ways! I wish you the very best and look forward to seeing more of your content soon!

This comment brought me to tears, thank you. I was very nervous to post this video because it is 100% my honest truth and experience. There are always challenges along the way, but understanding you have the power of changing the mindset around any situation has been the biggest aspect in overcoming any "challenge". Thank you for watching

I think I want to be a chiropractor but I’m not sure what to major in. I haven’t started my gen ed yet and I’m kind of scared because I don’t want to fail. 8 years of school seems like sooo long. Do you have any advice?

Thank you for sharing this video! I was at LCCW last week shooting a video for Dr. Matt Delgado + learning more about the school. I'm on my own journey and the chiropractic profession is where I feel called to serve. Thrilled to connect with students and docs. I can relate to having frustrations with school. Stories like this help me to push through and conquer the fear of uncertainty. Mantra: Put in work. Give glory to God. Watch how He'll give it back. #mattforchiropractic

Really loved this video and appreciate your vulnerability! As someone who's struggled with school a lot I can definitely relate to what you're saying about being your own worst enemy. You seem very driven and motivated to help others through Chiropractic and as long as you hold onto that long-term vision for yourself, you can't go wrong:) My dad has been a Chiropractor for over 35 years and I'll be heading to Life West in the fall and the profession needs more passionate people like yourself so keep up the great work!!

So you essentially want to be a "medical professional" without learning any of the fundamentals of medicine?
The medical field isn't for you. Hell, even the quackery that is chiropractic isn't for you.

Get out while you can!! 50% of chiropractors don’t practice because they make no money. Insurances don’t pay them but they do pay RN’s, PTA’s, PT’s. It’s all about the insurance so just get out now
