I just picked up one of these with 20000 original miles! Showroom condition not even one rock chip. It's a Z28 6 speed with Hotchkis suspension, longtubes, Borla exhaust and procharged. Just took it on a little road trip. Most fun I've had on a trip I do every year. Really love this car.

I daily a 2000 ws6 6 speed! Great car has 190k miles still going strong. Has headers, emissions delete and speed engineering axle dumps. Soon to be swapped with speed engineering true dual exhaust. It’s my running project slowly becoming what I envision it as.

Ordered mine new in 2001. Yes, you could still do that back then. SLP offered tremendous options. Sunset orange, tan interior, chrome 10 spoke w/bowtie center caps, center exhaust, 6 spd. Still have the original SLP brochure from the dealer. Sold the car in 2013 to a guy who hounded me about it for years. Occasionally see him in it. Steve is right, these cars were 🔥 when they came out!!

323 gear ratios for auto SLP cars. The 342 gear ratios came in T56 6 trimc trans cars. But still a well preserve. 4th Gen SS SLP camaro tho.

I have a slp Camaro, I bought it for 10,000 on Facebook marketplace with a bad fuel pump, it’s a fun car

Just bought an 01 SS convertible. SLP options are on a separate tag on the passenger door, usually. They have the Z28 RPO code along with the WU8 code on the drivers door. I’ve got the center mount exhaust and air box. Fun cars for the money right now.

This is true UNLESS it's a base SS. I have 2 SS's. A base 2000 automatic SS convertible with WU8 in the RPOs but no second sticker and a 99 6 speed SS with the second sticker and quite a few SLP options listed on it.

I heard you mention 1998, it was 1996 that we saw the return of the SLP Super Sport. It still had the LT1, 1998 was the first year for the LS1, you were kinda right.

Prices on pristine examples of these early-2000’s era Camaros have really jumped up over the past year. I’m a Mustang guy, but wouldn’t mind having one of these cars in my garage at all……!!!!!

I bought a 2002 Camaro SS brand new in early 2002. Same color as this one, but it was a 6 speed and the optional Hurst shifter. I traded in a 1998 Mustang SVT Cobra Convertible for it. Mustang was a much more comfortable and spacious car, not sure it was the best trade I have ever done... The seats in the Camaro were really thin, and not very comfortable, the passenger side had a huge hump in front of the seat which made it even more uncomfortable, and the rear seats were useless except for small kids. Mustangs seats were more comfortable and the rears were more usable. Both cars used a TON of cheap plastics in the interior, but the Chevy seemed to be better screwed together, its plastics rattled and screeched much less than on the Mustang. The leather on the Mustang seats was junk, it would almost immediately start cracking and looking like crap, while the Chevy seats looked a lot better with use, the leather looked cheaper, it looked almost like vinyl. Stock for Stock the SS was faster than the Cobra, but the Cobra was much easier to modify with bolt on's and parts were plentiful and cheaper. The Cobra sounded much nicer with the true dual exhaust and dual mufflers (I did put Magnaflow's in it) than the SLP provided single exhaust on the Camaro. If I were to buy one of them today, I would probably go for the Cobra.

I was with a group of guys back in the day one had a brand new Z28 and the other had a SS Both automatic the Z28 was quicker in every race they did SLP had different exhaust systems for that car you You could order with it my dad had one and it had single side exhaust exit which was weird looking on A SS but they said it was supposed to make the most power out of all the systems And you could also get a Hurst shifter on the manual as a option
