    I add Diatomaceous Earth Clay to absorb moisture from the arm pit, I also add Cocoa Butter, Yellow Beeswax, Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, Arrowroot Powder & Bentonite Clay
    Never add Baking Soda as at is a irritant for the Sensitive Area,
    English Lavender is the Safest type.
    I have a 3yr Female Indoor Only Therapy Bi Colour (Black & White)Cat Called Miss Moo she’s 3 on 7th September 2020
    Cats are Allergic to Lavender + their bodies can’t breakdown Citrus Oils either.

    I love the Lush natural deodorant too. I bet these are great. Activated charcoal was a great addition. You can add more clays and magnesium salts as well. Bicarb is VERY effective as an odor neutralizer but it can be irritating so maybe if you love it for that reason like me, maybe add less if you develop a sensitivity. Testing for pH and those added probiotics you mentioned such as ACV will lower the pH if needed. You can also adjust with citrus or CA. Loving the new products! :)Jen

    I don't understand putting in the essential oils and the activated charcoal. Doesn't activated charcoal absorb odors? Why put in a product for its odors with a product that absorbs odors?

    I love natural deodorant and have been making my own as well. However, baking soda can be very irritating to some people. When I first started I was using baking soda but after a week my armpits were Raw. I did some research and I found out that I was having a bad reaction to the baking soda. Therefore,I switched to magnesium hydroxide, I think, I'm not at home to look at my ingredients. I do know it is a powdered magnesium. But I just wanted to let you know that you may want to look at some other options because baking soda can be so irritating to the skin.
    I love all your videos.

      Baking soda is not good in a leave on product because our skin pH is between 4-5.5 and the pH of sodium bicarbonate is 9. That's why it irritates sensitive underarm skin.

    • @1Immortalmortal
      @1Immortalmortal 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Weird enough, if you have high blood pressure, you may want to avoid lots of sodium, which is in baking soda, and powder.

    The Ocicat is an all-domestic breed of cat which resembles a wild cat but has no wild DNA in its gene pool. The breed is unusual in that it is spotted like a wild cat but has the temperament of a domestic animal. It is named for its resemblance to the Ocelot.

    I'm wondering about substituting the beeswax for soy wax for those who have an allergy to bees 🤔

    • @sykotikmommy
      @sykotikmommy 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      My husband is severely allergic to bees, yet he's perfectly fine with honey and the wax. Being allergic to bee stings is an allergy to the venom. If someone reacts to bees wax, which is very, very rare, it's due to propolis, which is a waxy resin from certain trees. Just like with an allergy to honey, it comes from allergies to different pollens, not a general bee sting allergy. I hope this helps you.
      On the topic of soy, I've included an article and you can actually look at the FDA's website to verify what this article states. Soy is a poison and our skin absorbs everything we put on it. www.alohabay.com/planet/soy-not-health-food.html
      If you're selling your own homemade deodorant, it's going to be better to cater to those with allergies on a personal and individual level, because there are coconut allergies, palm allergies and many more.

    So I have an honest question for you, would you consider doing a soap without palm oil in it? I really love how detailed and whimsical your soaps are but I have a serious moral and ethical issue against palm oil after visiting an orangutan orphanage. The deforestation caused by the palm oil industry is horrible for the planet as well. Was just wondering if you would be willing to do one without palm oil?

    • @LunaFaeCreations
      @LunaFaeCreations  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I hear ya. I use a a brand called essential depot and only include 5/7% palm in my total oils. The company say “This Premium Palm Oil is RSPO Mass Balance demonstrating Essential Depot's commitment to preservation of the orangutan habitat impacted by conventional palm production. Purchase of RSPO Mass Balance Sustainable Palm Oil contributes to the production of more certified sustainable Palm Oil” So that sounds hopeful.
      I’ll definitely add it to the future lineup tho.

      It's not just the animals. The tribes that hunt and live on these lands are literally being forced off their land by these companies just so they can plant palm trees and harvest until the nutrients are gone from the soil and then they leave the land a barren wasteland. The tribes don't even get compensated for the loss of lands, income, or food. When you do make a soap without palm oil please advertise it so that people know, there are lots of people who would be super interested in it

    Awwww all the precious furbabies! I had my first cat, Max, until my parents said we couldn't keep him any longer... he was the same age as me & we got him when I was 3 and had him til I was 11. Suffice to say I've been having a hard time lately accepting the fact that we were one of those owners that gave up on the old cat. He was probably so confused and upset...
    But anyway, my baby kitty now is named Jinxx. Rescued him from people threatening to kill the kittens they didn't want... I got him at 5 weeks old, the runt of the litter. He fit in a ferret harness, heehee. He's now 8 years old and a little over 20lbs 😂 Oh! Max was our house panther - giant black shorthair. He would stretch and be as long as our 3-seat couch. Jinxx is a tabby mix. ^.^
    I love love love watching your videos and listening to your stories. I've been wanting to add deodorant for a while now and didn't realize how easy it is to make! I'll have to research a little bit and find something other than baking soda for my uber sensitive skin & make a recipe of my own. *is so excited*
    Also, since I don't yet follow you anywhere else I wasn't able to say this yesterday, but Happy Solstice!
    Love & Light,
    Aria 💜

      Yes you too! Ready for the days to start getting longer. I can relate with your cat story. When I was probably 5 or so I remember we use to have a beautiful white long haired cat named aurora. My step dad thought it would be ok to let her outside and one day and she never came back. I never learned the reason why he did this but it’s a memory that always stick with me. Love your kitty’s name. 🥰

    Issue's with the baking soda? Don't remove it from the recipe, just add some lanolin. It naturally protects the skin from moisture and salt in sweat. Bag Balm is an easy and good source of lanolin to add to the recipe. Depending on your sensitivity, start with a teaspoon per stick, then work your way up from there.
    I'm extremely sensitive to salt and moisture and get goulded very easily, and just a teaspoon of Bag Balm added per small batch is more then enough for me.
    Some old school remedies never get old. ;-)

      Hello, I think you might be using Curcuma Longa which is known for it's staining properties. This is the regular tumeric (food grade). Try using the Curcuma Aromatica variant which is known as wild tumeric or kasthuri haldi (cosmetic grade). This variant has the same anti-inflammatory properties as the regular one and doesn't leave a yellow stain. Hope this helps!
