Ok, first please let me state that this is NOT meant as a hate comment. I am an alcohol ink artist and art instructor and alcohol inks are NOT meant for children. It states that very clearly with the various warning signs right on the bottle (advertising their toxicity) as well as on the back at least one of the major manufacturers packages. It's interesting to that you're using water as the tool to spread the inks as water overall, isn't a friend to alcohol inks and we use isopropyl alcohol instead as taht is the base of alcohol inks. As a result side not, isopropyl alcohol is not a binding agent in the inks. The small amount of resin the manufacturers add, is. Now, if using water was a deciding factor in order to use the inks with kids I get it but you absolutely don't get the same results as most alcohol ink artist achieve.
