We migrated from north sudan, and originally we come from padang, through bor and west hrough agar land , our westward direction was mainly because during those days the sudd swamp lands greated tough envrionment further south of bor so that's why we turned west and continued to bahr el ghazal. Thats why we dinka are spread over large part from east to west of northern south sudan. Malual jieng ruweng and twic were the last of Jieng migrations from north sudan to settle in south sudan around 1700-1800. We introduced the hump back cattle to south sudan along with a special grain we had brought with us which can grow in harsh environment were there's little rain fall, as we migrated our settling was largely peacful we integrated and absorbed many other tribes who were pastoralist and agricultural, who through times of little rain were left with nothing to grow, but we the jeing could survive becuase the hump back cattle were stronger and capable of surviving also the grain we brought dhurra it's is name, could grow with little effort and water, so we thrived while the others struggled, perceiveing the dinka to have a superior and a more sustainable way of living, the former tribes would happily intermarry with us whilst some left for better lands. Also the brideprice of the dinka was higher then the other tribes around us so it was difficult for these tribes to marry our women, this with the fact that dinka don't intermarry within ourselves engorged our men to take wives of non dinka, this in turn was responsible for the huge explosion of our populations and over afew centuries we became the majority ethnic group of people in south sudan.
@@gracegg5485 Thank you for sharing what you have. I've read Sudans blood memory written by Stephanie Beswick which is basically a Dinka history book. It talks about our migration from the North with great detailed research.
@@gracegg5485 According to our history Rek is a group that broke off from Agar and migrated further west and then Malual Giernyang came out of Rek. We still have some Agar clans in Rek and Malual with the same ancestry.
@@AjachMabil great author for sure. There's another book by her "Violence, ethnicity and political consolidation in South Sudan : a history of the Dinka and their relations with their neighbors". Am not sure how much it differs from "sudans , blood memory' book, but from what I've gathered in the synopsis of that book and this one am reading, they share similar information. And no worries brother, just make sure to pass the knowledge on becau as e we Jieng have little knowledge of our history😭. Thank you Dong malwal
@@gracegg5485 your welcome Grace. The one called a history of the Dinka and their neighbours is Stephanie Beswicks thesis. I have the PDF. Its has so much information. I always enjoy discussing our history.
Agar people sing in exactly the same style. I'm totally convincing that we were connected before our expansion to Bahr al Ghazal.
