Here I am 26 years old watching cartoons at home, playing both old and new video games, but also being a responsible adult. I may be older and can never be a kid again, but I found my parents saying to be true and found happiness.

I like to think that this video actually meaning is about the coming of age, this because: All the shrinking and growing up of the Ed´s, the song lyrics about leaving and having more friends "that dont include you", the fact that Sarah is the actual protagonist of the video and she uses the Eds to play dolls. It´s like a dream/fantasy of Sarah wishing-remembering the times when her brother Ed was younger and played more with her, before he only hang out with Eddy and Edd. (I know, the feels). You can see Ed it´s the only one that enjoys playing a doll (until Eddy and Edd "appeared"), also he´s the last one in growing up and when he does the song and game ends, also from 1:55 you can see a picture of Ed and Sarah in the window of her room.
Haunted Heretic Well, Toonami did come back, so I wouldn't be surprised if Cartoon Cartoon Fridays made a return. Personally though, at least CN is doing better than Nick.
"At some point in your childhood, you and your friends went outside to play together for the last time and nobody knew it." I always think of this quote when I watch this video.
Ah the good old days. The days when I would get up from my bed and watch this show as a kid. How long it’s been now and how the years have passed. I’m almost 24 now and I still think about this show. I always wished to get older but now that I’m at this age, I wish could go back to the days when everything was simple
It's videos and songs like this that makes me wish that Cartoon Network still did the Groovies videos. Hell, just give me an album with all of the songs and i'll be happy.
This song is a perfect representation of the bliss of childhood, or rather even a bittersweet longing for the times of youth. The video is cool too but as a kid the song and its lyrics always struck me.
As a 29 year old dude who last heard this when he was 9, I immediately recollected the chorus of this song right as the first few seconds of song started. I ended up singing along to the chorus passionately getting some words wrong but the melody right. That's how memorable and good of a song this was. It was a part of my childhood. We are grateful.
The Golden Hawaiian Swordsman Dragon HIGHLY AGREES!!!!! Ed Edd 'n Eddy could make The Golden Hawaiian Swordsman Dragon laugh very better than movies like Dope!!!!👍
I remember when Cartoon Network used to have music videos about all of the cartoons that used to air on it. They had some about Powerpuff Girls, Dexter's Lab, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Ed Edd n Eddy, etc. It's like whenever a cartoon would end about 4 minutes early they would play one of these amazing music videos about one of our favorite cartoons just to catch up to their schedule. Man, I wish they still made music videos like these. 😢
Definitely before they exaggerated and even set their character traits considering how Double D has a mess underneath his bed and is using a used t-shirt. The current Double D would have a heart attack if tried to do that.
chapacoka Double D is a complete neat freaky he would never keep his room a mess like that and wear used clothes or even go outside without cleaning his hygine first he remind me of myself tbh
Ahh, so they made this short before they even did the pilot for the show? I wasn't aware of that. The first time I saw it, I think the show was already on season 2 so it was kind of just this weird music video with a different art style for the characters. The used shirt thing escaped my 9 year old attention.
It's that way because the creators/studio had no part in this. I remember this airing around 2003, so the show was years old when this came out. I imagine this was created within Cartoon Network's studio by people who didn't know the nuances of the show.
I had no idea how much I would miss these days. If I could wake up on the first day of summer break in elementary school back in 2002. nothing would make me happier than to relive those days. It feels like I was living in a dream back then.
The more I watch old Cartoon Network video, the bigger the void that grows in my adulthood. I can't simply turn the clock back and revert to the kid, but videos like this are the closest thing to take me back to my childhood.
This is THE Cartoon Network Groovies video for me, I remembered it so well from my childhood until I watched it again some time ago, now I'm here again because this is just great music and great cartoons together, wish they did this kind of stuff and kids still watched TV, it was great.
Cartoon network used to be so good...and im not just saying that cause i reject change or cause that was my childhood. But you see shows nowadays and they just don't compare
not all modern cartoons suck there still good shows being made today. personally i think the main difference is there are more mediocre cartoons todays.
i agree with you there, as a dude who lives in asia (where 90s cartoons were still on television when they were long gone in america,) I love 90s cartoons, and I agree that there are still good cartoons right now, its just that the ratio between good cartoons and bad ones are horribly unbalanced where bad ones are just here left and right
You guys really think that every cartoon that came out of the 90's was a masterpiece? Nowadays we talk about how every show needs to have some kind of moral or be more then just silly humor yet most shows from the 90's often times just revolved around one single idea or joke. (Johnny Bravo, Dexter, Ed Edd and Eddy, Cow and Chicken) while others just focused on being rude and offensive (Billy and Mandy). Granted, some shows took advantage of their settings like Courage and the Powerpuffs, but even they had their fair share of dud episodes. rue, nowadays censors are much harsher and it's harder to have shows that focus on that inherent cruelty that the 80's and 90's were known for, but that just means they need to be more subtle and clever. You could argue that there are less good cartoons now but that partially has to do with the fact that there are less modern cartoons in general, but the ones that are good arguable have a much more varied and adult modern following then those of the past. Plus, the way technology has evolved lead to some pretty inventive and creative scenarios that were just impossible a decade ago. But at the end of the day, it's all subjective. I'm just curious why we give the past such the benefit of the doubt when newer stuff is barely given a chance
I was born in the mid 90s and spent a hell lot of my time watching Cartoon Network. I couldn't picture myself today without having Ed Edd n Eddy and the other great shows as one part of my life. Growing up can suck and nostalgia might punch like a beast, but I'm greatly fond of the memories, and they're something I will always be grateful for :)
I remember this, i was a kid in my grandmother house, drinking hot chocolate with some cookies with my cousin, enjoying that times that never will come back watching Cartoon Network and sometimes this song appears, thanks for upload it!
Bruh thank you so much posting this it made me feel such a childish happy feeling again when I watched it. I still remember being so excited when it would come on
Watching again after so many years I can see that this music video keeps the lore of the cartoon. Sarah seems focused much more in Double D than the other two seeing the way she puts each Ed in the dollhouse: Eddy in a room closed by many furniture in doors so he can’t escape, Ed in a room with a lot of female dolls with which he keeps distracted and Double D in the bedroom where she can see him easily and grab him (in fact she attemps to do that in the video).
I always found it so strange how Double-D had a shirt under his bed and was willing to wear it. He was the super neat freak so to have something out of place like a shirt is completely unthinkable. Aside from that, this will pretty much always be my favorite Groovy
I was born in the late 90s , but I started watching Cartoon Network at the age of two. This is my favorite cartoon, and will always be. I do like cartoons these days, but I feel the comedy in them is always random. But I'm glad I managed to watch the real and entertaining 90s cartoons, oh yeah.
The 1st episode of Ed Edd 'n Eddy premiered on January 4th, 1999. It was a awesome 9th birthday present. Now that I'm 30 years old in 2023, I'm still proud to be a longtime fan of this now classic cartoon. 100 percent NO REGRETS!!!!!!!!!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

blackgod59 was 13-17...?when I was really into this show I'm 24 now. I hate looking in the mirror and seeing tiny fine lines that will be deeper every year. Life was hard as a kid bit it's even harder as an adult . But I can be thankful for food, bed, shelter and ppl who love me. It's just strange realizing an old cartoon can make us think things like that . And nice 😍 this brings me a lot of relaxation and forget how crazy 2018 is
This genuinely makes me cry, honestly. And it has nothing to do with the "I miss old cartoons" thing, but a longing for my past days when I was younger and life didn't corrupt me yet. The internet ruined my individuality quite a bit, but whenever I go back and watch the things that made me believe my life held so much more than I could've ever imagined, it gives me a glimmer of hope that I haven't truly fallen down quite yet. Someday, I hope I can watch all my favorite cartoons, commercials and more again as though they're brand new to me, in that I can appreciate them in an optimistic way, rather than begging for the days long gone when I was more innocent and joyful. I want those feelings back now so I can watch these simply for the sake of enjoying them.
Watching this tears me up. It was such a great time to be enjoying cartoons in the 90s and 00s. I miss my childhood so much. Sure as an adult I can do whatever I want now. But today has nothing on this era that we all loved so much. I hope kids today can experience this true form of entertainment sometime in their lives.
This reminds me of when I was just a kid, and my family was living with my now deceased grandma while our house was being built. I remember sitting in front of the tv in the living room with my Woody the Cowboy, and Buzz Lightyear and my cascade of green soldiers watching Cartoon Network....I had an amazing childhood.

Wake up bro its 2003!!! Lets watch some ed edd n eddy and play some ps2!! Im 30 years old now. I remember spending the summers at grandmas house with a glass of sunny D, a bowl of chef boyarde and all my favorite early 2000s cartoons. I thought "man, it can't get any better than this."
lol well it was a little bit different for me but i used to watch alot of cn at my grandmas house back in the late 90s early 2000s when my parent were out for the evening she is passed now literally just a few months ago actually. the good old days.
Here's some nostalgia for ya. Born in the 80s. I remember when this show first aired. I was riding bikes with soda cans shoved in the tire to make them sound like dirtbikes, wearing my middle school uniforms outside, getting dirty, playing Brain Warp and Crossfire with friends. Riding bikes over to the friends to play Sega games. I remember playing TONS of Streets of Rage. I remember Super Soakers and water balloons, those cheap freezer pops from the grocery (yall know which ones im talking about) and HUGS barrel juices. hahaha. Everyone on the bus trading holographic Pokemon cards and showing eachother the Dragonball Z pictures they smuggled off the web at school in their Five-star binders. I remember that big ass gameboy my friend had, he'd sometimes let me borrow for a day. I remember just being outside every day, all day, and never wanting to go home. I remember Toy Tiger, GUTS, Double Dare, All That, Micro Machines, Power Rangers, it was all there and in your face. I truly hold those times dear to my memory, and am so happy I lived through that era. I'm thankful every day for being able to remember those parts of my childhood.
Easily one of the best Cartoon Network Groovies out there; not only because it's tied to my favorite CN original series, but because the song itself is almost wistful in a way... Like, I love My Best Friend Plank as well, but I like this one way more.
To me this will always be the golden area of CN between 96-04 damn the more I think about it few of these cartoons ever got proper endings, sure you had stuff like ego trip for dexters lab or in the case of the ed's the big picture movie but a lot of these just sort off fell off, the PPG for example what was supposed to be the ending never aired, Samurai Jack was left on a cliff hanger of sorts, and while I loved the final episode Courage could have ended better. Makes me sad knowing that I will never know how they end.
I remember as a kid I used to feel annoyed after seeing this repeatedly play on my TV... now I miss it. All of it!

Do you now how depressed I feel right now? Thanks, I won't see this the same way again
+Roberto Guevara Dude...that left me with feels...

Love the picture.
Roberto Guevara Boi, you should write movies
Who else thinks Cartoon Network should bring back the Groovies?
They have. There's been a few Regular Show and Adventure Time Groovies. Plus there was a Clarence Groovie during last nights show.
I do I miss this wait they should bring back all the good shows we grew up on like cartoon cartoon Friday's etc
Rukia352 Cartoon Network needs to move on. They can't just put a bunch of old shows on and old bumpers from the 90s. They need to keep moving forward.
Haunted Heretic Well, Toonami did come back, so I wouldn't be surprised if Cartoon Cartoon Fridays made a return. Personally though, at least CN is doing better than Nick.
Haunted Heretic I guess the only thing I watch is toonami on cartoon network aka adult swim
Garrett Freireich (the artist) released the full version without any sound effects on his website a few months ago.
Thanks man!!!!
Let’s be honest. This didn’t show up in the recommended list. You searched it because you were feeling nostalgic.
Saw it on Facebook
I plead tha fif amendment ☝🏾😅
You caught me.
Who miss this Cartoon Network? :(
Oliver Parada I do
I was literally in preschool when this used to play on the commercials :( time flies so fast...
Oliver Parada me

Oliver Parada Like Heck I Do
I hate myself for not cherishing this part of CN
Same here
Whether you cherish this video or not it's still apart of your childhood.
@@jonathanfrierson2154 bro 🥺
@@dmino5244 yep

i wish i was a kid again to relive all of this

i like your OC

"At some point in your childhood, you and your friends went outside to play together for the last time and nobody knew it." I always think of this quote when I watch this video.
Oh it gets worse. By the time you hit 25 your social circle basically evaporates as everyone you know gets married and pregnant.

Hell, just give me an album with all of the songs and i'll be happy.
same here
I guess the band is They Might Be Giants becous all groovies were from them and Malcolm in The Middle also
A simple song for a simple life
This song is a perfect representation of the bliss of childhood, or rather even a bittersweet longing for the times of youth.
Ed Edd n Eddy will always be one of my favorite shows.
The Golden Hawaiian Swordsman Dragon HIGHLY AGREES!!!!! Ed Edd 'n Eddy could make The Golden Hawaiian Swordsman Dragon laugh very better than movies like Dope!!!!👍
Im liking for "now you can watch your nostalgia in 1080p."
+Brook T :P
Not to mention Sara was mixing potions, which is usually Edd's thing.
chapacoka Double D is a complete neat freaky he would never keep his room a mess like that and wear used clothes or even go outside without cleaning his hygine first he remind me of myself tbh
@@ViewtifulDarnell nah bro your right I was like 9 when this shit came out and they were well into season 2
I had no idea how much I would miss these days. If I could wake up on the first day of summer break in elementary school back in 2002. nothing would make me happier than to relive those days. It feels like I was living in a dream back then.
same :P i wouldnt mind going back to the 90s although i would miss my smart phone lol
fruitsnackia2012 I think I could make it back then without one for a little while lol would be like a vacation from today
The more I watch old Cartoon Network video, the bigger the void that grows in my adulthood. I can't simply turn the clock back and revert to the kid, but videos like this are the closest thing to take me back to my childhood.
amen
Same brother
Same here man same here. I know exactly how you even feel.
Whoa, there's that nostalgia, washing over me...2002, man, what an awesome year...
Some Gorillaz shit right here.
This is THE Cartoon Network Groovies video for me, I remembered it so well from my childhood until I watched it again some time ago, now I'm here again because this is just great music and great cartoons together, wish they did this kind of stuff and kids still watched TV, it was great.
Woke up this morning with this stuck in my head. Haven't heard it in probably 8 years. Glad my brain dug that up and the nostalgia with it
Nostalgiaaaaaa
Volter lo mismo siento
Cartoon network used to be so good...and im not just saying that cause i reject change or cause that was my childhood. But you see shows nowadays and they just don't compare
I fail to see how modern cartoons have contributed any less then what was done in the late 90's and early 2000's
not all modern cartoons suck there still good shows being made today. personally i think the main difference is there are more mediocre cartoons todays.
i agree with you there, as a dude who lives in asia (where 90s cartoons were still on television when they were long gone in america,) I love 90s cartoons, and I agree that there are still good cartoons right now, its just that the ratio between good cartoons and bad ones are horribly unbalanced where bad ones are just here left and right
+Hardly Rainy Gamer In my country too...
Watched this on Cartoon Network when I was too young to understand English. Now that I do, it sounds more epic than ever!
Same here except I was born in 1992
Or you can just rewatch them
Born in 1989
I remember this, i was a kid in my grandmother house, drinking hot chocolate with some cookies with my cousin, enjoying that times that never will come back watching Cartoon Network and sometimes this song appears, thanks for upload it!
god its been so long since i've seen this but i remember it very well.
Violet thebat same I miss my childhood
Quality so good, I almost miss the blurriness of watching this on an old tube TV
lol yep. good old crappy coaxial and composite inputs on a crt tv
Bruh thank you so much posting this it made me feel such a childish happy feeling again when I watched it. I still remember being so excited when it would come on
lol no prob dude. glad i could bring the good time back for you :P
How can you not cry looking at this masterpiece?
cause ive watched so many times.
But I'm glad I managed to watch the real and entertaining 90s cartoons, oh yeah.
i agree.
Yeah! Cartoons now a days are really boring. Im a 90's person.
same :) i love the old cartoon network and nickelodeon
compare to the stupid CN and Nick from today -_-
jaimie de jongh Kenan and Kel was Classic on old Nickelodeon.
Ed, Edd n Eddy came out in 1999. Hardly a 90's cartoon
Oh my god i've spent the last TEN YEARS TRYING TO FIND THIS SONG OMG
THIS, IS THE MOST NOSTALGIC THING I HAVE EVER SEEN SO FAR IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!! OMG
HOW ON EARTH DID I FORGET ABOUT THIS!!??
The 1st episode of Ed Edd 'n Eddy premiered on January 4th, 1999. It was a awesome 9th birthday present. Now that I'm 30 years old in 2023, I'm still proud to be a longtime fan of this now classic cartoon. 100 percent NO REGRETS!!!!!!!!!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I had just turned two the November before and I would turn three November of 99
I remember seeing on tv once years ago and it's still good as I remember.
This and Jabberjaw by Pain were and still are my favorite Groovies! This was peak CN.
I’m happy i grew up on this than cartoons today..
Funny how I start to empathize with older people for reminiscing about their childhood with each passing year. I fucking loved old Cartoon Network.
Man we’re old getting old. Glad to say I got
To see and grow up in the golden age of cartoonnetwork
man this made me all nostalgic of the old days now I'm a little depressed I remember those bright summer days and those comfortable winter days when I was out of school and I Sat back and watch my favorite cartoons like ed ed and Eddy Invader Zim The Powerpuff Girls and code name kids to the door man where did the time go
:-( forgot to add that
blackgod59 was 13-17...?when I was really into this show I'm 24 now. I hate looking in the mirror and seeing tiny fine lines that will be deeper every year. Life was hard as a kid bit it's even harder as an adult . But I can be thankful for food, bed, shelter and ppl who love me. It's just strange realizing an old cartoon can make us think things like that . And nice 😍 this brings me a lot of relaxation and forget how crazy 2018 is
blackgod59 3 years ago you couldn't "edit" your msges XD I miss that too LOL
Oh I miss those days as a kid… when summers were long and days spent watching cartoons and playing outside.
This just unlocked a deep memory inside me.
as kid: *dammit, i hate this*
now: *...i need it back...*
This was actually sung by a guy named Garrett Freireich.
This is one of those songs I hear and think “damn man, I’ll never be able to relive my childhood again.”
Early 2000s rocked
Wishing to be a kid again to cherish these moments a lot more... Miss the old Cartoon Network.
Sun's up, I hit the floor
Shoes tied, I'm out the door
Is this a clean shirt?
I think it was one yesterday
Free day, I'm on the phone
No plans, I got my cell on
I call my boys up
Spend a little time outside today
Never liked being in when I gotta be
Never liked being told who I gotta see
I like no commitments growing up around me
I'm not coming in anymore
Everything I want and need is just outside this door
I'm not coming in anymore
Got too many friends on the outside
That don't include you
Go ahead, think what you might
All my friends got angles and insight
And all kinds of facts and probabilities
You say we lack rhyme or reason
I say we're meant for all seasons
We scream with endless possibilities
Spent a lot of time trying to convince me
My friends are two strikes against me
Well I swing for the fences
So that must make strike three
That's fine by me
I'm not coming in anymore
Well everything I want and need is just outside this door
I'm not coming in anymore
Got too many friends on the outside
That don't include you
Don't include you
Nothing ever seems right
Like it does when it's not
Playing in the right speed
Cooking in the right pot
I like things familiar
And I don't belong here
Don't belong here
I'm not coming in anymore
Everything I want and need is just outside this door
I'm not coming in anymore
Got too many friends on the outside
Plans on the outside
That don't include you
Not coming in
Not coming in
Not getting back no more
No more
Wake up bro its 2003!!!
I loved watching that short before hanging out with my friends during the summer
0:15 edd would never put his clothes under the bed let alone wear them
Watching this brings this back to my childhood
Gorillaz looks great
Easily one of the best Cartoon Network Groovies out there; not only because it's tied to my favorite CN original series, but because the song itself is almost wistful in a way...
Like, I love My Best Friend Plank as well, but I like this one way more.
This show is the embodiment of childhood.
People who are born in the 90s we rock
OziFy Karu 1991. Fuck yea dude
OziFy Karu yessss
I was in 2003
I was in 1996
OziFy Karu 1991😏☑ Bring the good shows 🔙🔜
I had forgotten about this but as soon as I heard the song it all came flooding back, I got tears eyed!
This was my favorite song of all the Groovies, and one of my favorite vids too.
Me too. I loved all of the original groovies. Except the jabberjaw one bc they played it too much 😂. But now I love it, bc it's super nostalgic.
Gotta appreciate Ed trying to get along with the dolls. lmao
***** i agree...
man sure makes you miss being kid I remember this like it was yeaterday
