Wow!! That Soundtrack with the drone shots combined just amazed me!!! Well done Matej! I love it. Thanks for putting so much effort into your vlogs! I need a drone.
Yeah, about that...I am sure that a constant wondering in back of my mind if I will run into a bear or a boar can be a great supplement for a coffee :D. And thank you for your compliments and of course for watching!
Well done Matej, loved the simplicity of your foreground - just proves you don't need to be in some epic, majestic landscape to achieve a fantastic, engaging image 🙌
Hey, thank you very much! Honestly I should take advantate of the area near me more. Difficult to explain, I know the nature here is beautiful, but it can be hard to find compositions, because sometimes I dont even register the surroundings anymore since I've been living here my whole life :D. Things like this really makes me appreciate more.
Surprise video drop! I loved it! I am totally there with you on looking forward to the autumn and winter seasons. Brilliant start of Orion season. Really liked the result! I was surprised though you got the Viltrox despite the IR issue. Hopefully they can fix it in the future.
Thanks a lot, Jeroen. Really appreciate it and I do hope you will also capture one soon too :D. Yeah, about that Viltrox... Im only temporary owner. We will see if they can fix that IR problem. Otherwise it is a fantastic lens.
Great video as usual! I was thinking about the Nomad Star Tracker but I am worried it won't last long in freezing temperatures. At least this is my experience with the first MSM so I switched to iOptron Sky Guider Pro. It is a beast but a heavy one. The laser of the MSM used to freeze within minutes, and the tracker's battery lasted only a few minutes. I am tempted to get the Nomad but I guess I will wait for your feedback first :)
Hey, thank you very much, Tervel! Actually you do have some great points, as I didnt even consider how the tracker would perform in subzero temperatures. Now I am very curious too.
@@matej.mlakar If you plug it in to a Power Bank it will hold enough for a proper tracking session. You can also replace the laser with a polar scope. I purchased one for the MSM but never used it since I moved to the iOptron. The weight of the Nomad is really tempting. I would never consider replacing the iOptron but it is 1.6kg with the case.
Thanks for making such an incredibly detailed video! I have an Astronomik 12nm HA clip in filter for my Sony A7IV. I am going to give this a try once we get a clear early morning in Washington State, USA. I have had trouble changing, installing and removing the filter in the field. I think I will install the filter at my house in my astro modified A7IV for HA and also bring my non astro modified A7RIV to do the RGB sky image. In the field I can simply move the same lens from one camera to the other without having to worry about dust and fingerprints.
And thank you, John, for watching and for your kind words. I understand your frustration as this is the most common problem with using clip in filter. I got a plastic "hook" along with the Astronomik, which made taking the filter out easier, but I lost it at some point. For me it is manageable now, but in winter wont be anymore with taking off the glowes and so on. Your way of doing is also quite a popular one, so Im sure you will have great success with it.
Thanks a lot, Martin :D. Ah... once you do a few of more difficult hikes and you realise that this is not going to work out with heavy gear, you quickly start looking for alternatives :D
Hey man, I came to your video through Instagram curious about an Orion vlog haha but what a nice video and full of information. Thank you very much for your effort, it inspired me to do something similar on my trips here in Brazil.
Hey, first of all, thank you very much for your kind words. And now, I have to say that I really really appreciate that you used word "inspired" in your comment, because I make my vlogs to show a story behind an image, maybe to teach or to explain something new, but if I can inspire someone, that is really the most important thing to me. Good luck with your plans!
Beautifully shot video, Matej, and I loved the final image, especially how much height it had! The storytelling of the night was fantastic - very much hope you get clear skies for some more Orion goodness soon. 👍
Thank you very much, Richard. Means a lot! Its nice to find something in a radius of a few km from my house :D and I think we all have quite a good pre-visualization in this type of photography. Its very important tool for all of us.
Hey, no, not anymore. This footage is from Mini 3 :D. Spark's battery is crap and also the range. But the biggest problem with the Spark was that it could record only in 1080p and my vlogs are in 4K.

Thank you, Jan! Supper happy to hear that you enjoy watching :D its great motivation for future.
Lovely image Matej, seems like you enjoyed this night a lot even without the coffee kicking in.

@@matej.mlakar yes, I totally get that - and it's why showing visitors around your town can be a great way to see your surroundings thru fresh eyes.
Awesome 👏 took a ten minute break from work to watch 😅 killer image along with this vlog ❤
Thanks so much, Carl! happy to hear that those 10min were worth it :D

Congratulation for the final shot, very nice. You are in a beautiful country.
Thank you! I I am very lucky that I am surrounded by such a nature :)
Yeeeey, its nice to see you out under the clear sky again, my friend😊✨ I can only hope my arm will heal enough soon to go out together in the winter💪
Thank you, my friend! I am sure it will! Its been too long since our last trip...
Bravo, super video in končna fotka! 😊
Hvala, Samo :D
Great vlog Matej...you live in a beautiful landscape for sure!
Thank you very much! And I agree, I am very grateful that I can live in such a place.

Wow, that image turned out really well! I am kind of envious of your clean portabel setup for tracking... mine is a mess and a lot more bulky 😅
Thanks a lot, Martin :D. Ah... once you do a few of more difficult hikes and you realise that this is not going to work out with heavy gear, you quickly start looking for alternatives :D
Excelent result despite some issues you had :)) The next journey will come soon:)
Thanks a lot! It was a lesson :D and I sure hope you are right! :D

Thanks a lot, Paul. Means a lot to hear this from you! And I wish clear skies to you too!
Cool shot, Matej! Beautiful scenery out there and cool drone shots :) I can't wait to get back out in the desert.
Hey, thank you very much! And good luck out there! :D
What a beautiful image Matej. I love how you were able to pre-visualize this simple scene during your previous trip to the location .. .well done.

Super! 😊

Great vlog and result! Thanks for sharing your experience with us! I'll wait the next ❤
And thank you for watching :D really means a lot.
great vlog....please include some editing videos too in the vlog
Hey, thank you! I could do only editing tutorials in the future, but at the moment I am not ready yet :D.
are you still using the spark drone or did you upgrade .. because the picture looks mint ...
