I recommend the Patagonia Refugio 30L. It is under 2lbs, costs around $100 and the removable computer sleeve/admin pouch is perfect for slipping everything you need into the airplane pocket in front of you on a flight
All the TH-cam backpack reviewers stop shaving at some point. Chase Reeves, George Defined, now you. :D At least Danny from Traveling Salseros is still clean shaved!
Compared to a $300 Pakt, which I’ve been seriously considering lately as an Osprey Nebula replacement, these are kind of budget. However, they are not inexpensive great value packs. I realize you might (maybe perhaps) give up something in fabric quality, but it would be nice to do a sub $60 version of this and a sub $30 version for those people who are looking for something truly inexpensive. I’m always curious what you really give up when you buy a $20 Grfree sling (a popular themepark daypack with two water bottle pockets) instead of a $180 Pakt Everyday.
Another awesome review, Aaron! If you're on the hunt for an affordable backpack for your next adventure, then this video is a must-watch! It breaks down the pros and cons of some of the best budget backpacks on the market, and gives great insights into who they're perfect for and who they're not so perfect for. Great tips on where to snag the best prices. Get ready to find your perfect backpack!
The LL Bean Mountain Classic is pretty good for what you pay for. 420D Nylon, YKK zippers, a seperate laptop sleeve at the back which is very roomy and I used it to hold a lot more technology then just a laptop, etc. Only annoyances I did find was this weird threading of the fabric but I just used a lighter to burn them off and the back isn't good for ventilation so when it is very hot out you start to sweat a lot on your back, but this usually happened mostly on the unusually hot summer days. I got this nice rust like color that isn't obnoxious orange.
Trying out different budget backpacks, but I'm probably going to go back to this one since I fell in love with it and was very impressed despite the reviews which made me weary.
Could you please do one even cheaper perhaps $50-$80 for college students? I’m looking for something extremely durable that will last me for many more years to come and grad school than medical school. That has a lot of capacity and internal storage and is comfortable. is this impossible?
Do you have an alternative backpack to recommend for college use? I'm personally not a fan of Herschel because its a little too mainstream in my opinion. I'm also not a fan of the look aswell some people I know like it I personally dont 😅
Okay, I've gone through many many many of your videos and I'm struggling to find my backpack. I Need a Backpack small enpugh for everyday carry, with mindblowing padding and protection, It has to fit a 16" Laptop inside the laptop sleve (false bottom), a separate pouch or pocket where I can fit a Big mouse (MX master 3), Headphones, Laptop Charger and some cables. I've been Using an Oggio Gambit 17 for the last 12 years or so and I love it, But it has been with me for way too long and I need annother backpack (but I need it to actually fit My laptop in the laptop Sleve. My budget is up to 200 or maybe 250 USD, but The company has to sell in Mexico too. Any suggestions? Please
@@Nomads.Nation thanks, I reached out to Mous to ask them about my speciphic need. If I end up getting one of the bags ypu review, I'll do my best to provide my personal experience with it and send it to you so you can include it and expand the details on your videos. Same if I find a backpack from annother brand that happens to solve everything I need it to solve
i am interested to buy that boundary pack while waiting for your backpack design to come to life or for Bellroy to decide to make more of the bronze Tokyo tote pack but do you still have a discount code for that because the one you got 2 years ago has expired as per their website (as it should)?
I always found the Burton Annex 2.0 to be an excellent budget edc backpack. Lots of excellent organisation pockets, comfortable to wear and can look pretty professional as well.
Budget is such a broad and weasley little topic. I think you did great though. having the average be $100 usd is, for me, probs the best area bang for buck ratio. To be more specific $75 to around 130 is the sweat spot for me where you get good to great stuff but also where the law of diminishing returns isn't at play yet.
thank you for the request! probably won't happen for a very long time since we have literally hundreds of bags we have to review, but we'll keep it on the wishlist just in case.
I have both the v1 and v2 and I would say that v2 is a huge improvement even with the minimal padding it has. I just took it to Spain for 3+ weeks and it performed beautifully as a daypack AND as a minimal travel bag for a side trip on Ryanair. Great pack, if a tiny bit heavy for a "packable" daypack.

Great suggestion! We plan to do a lot more budget/value roundups in the future
Y'all are getting fooled All of these bags mentioned don't cost more than $20 to make
That sounds about right. Backpack companies usually charge a multiple of 5x, so a $20 backpack would usually be charged around $100 retail.
Its called capitalism. Goes for pretty much anything you buy. They gotta make money, and they know people are willing to buy
Do you have options for the best budget travel(one bag) bags?
not yet but great suggestion - I'll add to our to do list!

Does that Kargo Curso have a false bottom? Really interested in a small bag that can carry a 13’ macbook 😅
Barely, not a great one

Asking for more padding on the Aer Go 2 is odd. It's a packable backpack. Putting more padding would affect its packability. Just saying.
Solid point!
