Hi, cant we create a regional subnet and create VMs on that, and have a private load balancer to work across multiple availability domains? without having DNS and 2 private load balancers?

kooba team yes you can create regional Subnet and create private Load balancer but if your question is in the context of quiz then question is public facing and for public facing only option you have is public internet load balancer . Private load balancer will not be public facing - Hope this helps

If load balancer is available at region , why we are maintaining load balancer in a different AD for failover.

Ajay Kumar we are not maintaining it but Oracle will maintain it for you. All your need is to create a regional load balancer and leave failover on Oracle. Atul

Above is based on regional load balancer that Oracle added later (I think early 2019) Atul

remember- it all depends on your business requirement. designs can be performance/biz continuity/cost
If your biz is not spread across regions, stay with ADs within a region.Remember cross region design adds to cost

From when we have started giving DR deployment inside a Region using AD , AD's withing Region always give HA not DR

Saurav trivedi thanks and glad that you pointed out. It’s down to definition of disaster of component. If you look at Oracle Database in OCI within a region , standby database (data guard) is configured across another AD (different from AD hosting primary database) .
This is one of the most common deployment for customers who can’t go across region
