Roger Meddows Taylor - articulate,witty and a great drummer for one of the best bands ever. I saw Queen in '86 at Wembley and Knebworth and Freddie Mercury was on fire, simply untouchable. I agree that the only person who has come close was George Michael at the tributre concert. Give Brian and Rog a bell before you get too old!!
What Roger says right at the end there about George Michael is so spot on, he really set the standard for covering Queen, a hard task for anyone but he nailed it that day, I'll never forget it.

Adam was never offered a job with Queen. Maybe to do a special thing here or there. Adam is a good singer but not on a Freddie Mercury level. To be on Freddie's level a person would have to be a great songwriter, great music composer, great arranger, great pianist, great rock frontman and a great singer who can sing rock, punk, soul/gospel, pop, blues/jazz, disco, rockabilly, scat, ballad and opera . This is why Brian & Roger said that Freddie will never be replaced. There is no such person.

I would say it is complete bullshit since this is the first I have heard of this and Freddie was in a heterosexual relationship with his long-time girlfriend Mary Austin at the time. I don't even know where you got that from. I've been an ardent Queen fan for a long time and this is the first I've heard of something of that sort. Roger could and did have any girl he wanted back in the 1970s. :)
Freddie and Roger are very close mentally...they connected very well..if Freddie was not a homosexual..maybe they would have been the best of friends...!!!
